The Rams’ Taylor Rapp proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of celebrating the Super Bowl

Congrats to the couple!

It was a big day for Taylor Rapp in a couple of ways.

The Los Angeles Rams safety won a Super Bowl ring on Sunday after a 23-20 win.

Then? As the Rams celebrated the victory, Rapp got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend right there on the field at SoFi Stadium, which was captured on camera. This is just beautiful, and a perfect time to do it, right? Plus, people got to make “two rings!” jokes, which are just perfect as well.

Here’s the sweet moment, with two angles of the proposal plus the emotional exchange after:

Congrats!!!

Rams’ Taylor Rapp proposes to girlfriend on field at SoFi

Win a Super Bowl and then propose, Taylor Rapp could not have had a better Sunday at SoFi

The Los Angeles Rams had won Super Bowl 56, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-20, Sunday at SoFi Stadium.

One Ram, DB Taylor Rapp, wasn’t happy with just earning a piece of jewelry.

He turned it into a double-ring ceremony on the field after the victory.

Check it out as Rapp proposes to his girlfriend in a moment that will live in Super Bowl history for years to come.

Well played all around, Taylor Rapp.

Sean McVay shares injury updates on Tyler Higbee and Taylor Rapp

Tyler Higbee has an MCL sprain but the Rams hope he can play in the Super Bowl

Tyler Higbee left Sunday’s NFC title game with a knee injury after playing just 14 snaps. He was in obvious pain after the injury occurred and was ruled out for the rest of the night in the third quarter.

Sean McVay provided an update on Higbee Monday night in speaking with reporters, revealing that the tight end has a sprained MCL. McVay said the Rams are “working through some different avenues” and are going to do everything they can to have him ready to play against the Bengals less than two weeks from now.

McVay also said Taylor Rapp, who’s been out since suffering a concussion in week 18, is turning the corner in a positive way as he continues to progress through the concussion protocol. Nick Scott and Eric Weddle have done a great job filling in for Rapp and Jordan Fuller at safety, but getting Rapp back would help with the depth.

Andrew Whitworth and Taylor Rapp on track to play vs. 49ers, Ernest Jones could also return

Sean McVay said Andrew Whitworth and Taylor Rapp are on track to play Sunday, and Ernest Jones could also return

The Los Angeles Rams were without Andrew Whitworth and Taylor Rapp on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who starters who have played most of the snaps this season. Joe Noteboom and Nick Scott both played great in their place, but the Rams would love to get Whitworth and Rapp back for the NFC Championship Game.

Sean McVay said Monday that both players are on track to play against the San Francisco 49ers this weekend, which is excellent news for the Rams – especially considering Noteboom strained his pec at the end of the game. He’ll be monitored throughout the week.

Elsewhere on the injury front, the Rams have a handful of players who have been designated to return from IR but have not yet been activated. Ernest Jones is among them, and McVay said he has the best chance to play of any player who could be activated.

Sebastian Joseph-Day, Robert Rochell and Darrell Henderson Jr. are among those who have been designated to return from IR.

Jones’ return will definitely help the defense, particularly against the run-heavy 49ers offense where tackling is such a critical part of slowing them down. Jones has been out since injuring his ankle in Week 16 against the Vikings.

Andrew Whitworth, Taylor Rapp won’t play vs. Buccaneers on Sunday

The Rams will be without Andrew Whitworth and Taylor Rapp on Sunday after they were ruled out for this week

For the second week in a row, the Los Angeles Rams won’t have Taylor Rapp in the secondary. Sean McVay said Friday that he won’t play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday as he continues to recover from a concussion suffered in Week 18.

Likewise, Andrew Whitworth has also been ruled out. He injured his knee and ankle in the Rams’ wild-card win over the Cardinals, forcing him to miss most of the game. The injury occurred on the first offensive play and although he was able to return, he didn’t take the field in the second half.

This is disappointing news for the Rams as they gear up to face an outstanding Buccaneers pass rush. Joe Noteboom has played well when asked to step in for Whitworth the last two years, but Whitworth’s leadership and experience are invaluable in a game like this.

Not to mention, Whitworth has been excellent in pass protection, allowing just 16 pressures all season. He has a pass-blocking grade of 90.2 at Pro Football Focus, considerably better than Noteboom’s score of 76.0.

Rams-Cardinals injury report: Taylor Rapp ruled out vs. Arizona

The Rams will be without both of their starting safeties on Monday night after Taylor Rapp was ruled out

The Los Angeles Rams will officially be without both of their starting safeties against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night. Sean McVay told reporters Saturday that Taylor Rapp will miss the wild-card round after he suffered a concussion in Week 18 and remains in the league’s protocol.

Jordan Fuller has already been ruled out for the year with an ankle injury, as well. That leaves Nick Scott and Terrell Burgess as the only safeties on the 53-man roster, but Eric Weddle will be promoted from the practice squad for Monday’s game.

Everyone else who was previously listed on the injury report is good to go, including Van Jefferson, Darious Williams and Leonard Floyd.

With Fuller out, McVay said Troy Reeder is likely to wear the green dot as the defensive signal caller, relaying the plays from Raheem Morris to the rest of the defense. Fuller has held that responsibility all season, making this Reeder’s first game in that role.

Weddle’s role is still being determined by McVay and the coaching staff, but he will play against the Cardinals – his first game in more than two years. He last played with the Rams in 2019 but has remained in shape during retirement.

The full injury report for the Rams and Cardinals will be added when available.

Rams injuries: Jordan Fuller out for season, Darious Williams and Taylor Rapp also banged up

Sean McVay shared injury updates after Sunday’s loss, and it’s bad news for the secondary.

The Los Angeles Rams lost more than Sunday’s game to the San Francisco 49ers. They also lost their defensive signal caller for the rest of the season.

Sean McVay told reporters on Monday night that Jordan Fuller may need surgery on his injured ankle and is out for the year. He suffered the injury in the fourth quarter and missed about 28 plays as a result.

There’s more bad news for the secondary, too.

Darious Williams has a shoulder injury and is being evaluated, and Taylor Rapp is in the concussion protocol. The Rams will have an extra day to rest and recover with their next game being on Monday night, but it’s never easy to potentially lose three starters in the secondary.

Fuller has been the defensive signal caller all season, wearing the green dot on his helmet. McVay said Jalen Ramsey, Troy Reeder and Travin Howard are all candidates to take over that role on defense with Fuller out.

Fuller played 16 games this season and intercepted one pass, while also making a team-high 113 total tackles.

Jalen Ramsey: Heated moment with Taylor Rapp was due to disagreement

Jalen Ramsey discussed his altercation with Taylor Rapp for the first time, saying it stemmed from a disagreement.

Early in Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, cameras caught Jalen Ramsey taking an open-handed swing at Taylor Rapp in the huddle after a play. It was a heated moment between two leaders in the secondary, but it certainly wasn’t a good look for the team.

Ramsey didn’t speak to the media after the Rams’ win but on Thursday, he addressed the altercation. He told reporters that it stemmed from a disagreement between himself and Rapp, but the two have moved on and are “fine now.”

It’s good to hear that they’ve moved past this dispute and it didn’t seem to impact either player during the game, and it certainly doesn’t look like it’ll spill into Sunday’s matchup with the 49ers.

Jordan Fuller is the signal caller on defense but both Ramsey and Rapp help get their teammates aligned pre-snap, as well. It’s still not clear exactly what the disagreement was about, but they could be seen talking after Devonta Freeman’s 2-yard run on the opening drive.

The play before that, Marquise Brown caught a pass over the middle for 13 yards, which we likely when the disagreement happened.

The Rams have played well on defense in recent weeks and this mix-up, as Sean McVay called it, isn’t going to set them back as the playoffs approach.

Sean McVay: Ramsey-Rapp scuffle in huddle came after ‘a little bit of a mixup’

Sean McVay explained what happened between Jalen Ramsey and Taylor Rapp during their scuffle in the Rams’ huddle.

On the Ravens’ first drive of the game, things got heated in the Rams’ huddle. Marquise Brown caught a pass over the middle that went for 13 yards and a first down, and before the next play, Jalen Ramsey smacked Taylor Rapp in the helmet during a heated exchange between the two defenders.

It was shocking to see, especially considering how early in the game it happened. They didn’t get into it a second time and appeared to move on, but you never want to see teammates shoving each other in the huddle.

Sean McVay didn’t seem bothered by it after the game, chalking it up to Ramsey and Rapp being competitors, while also comparing it to brothers fighting.

“It’s two great competitors. They both want to do right,” he said. “There was a little bit of a mixup. It’s just like anything else. You got any brothers? You ever get into a fight with your brother? Yeah you did. And so they moved on and they kept it going. I don’t think it affected our ability to move forward. These are two guys that love football. They love one another. There was a little bit of a mixup and any time you care about each other like that, you keep it moving and I thought that’s what we did.”

Ramsey and Rapp weren’t sitting near each other on the sideline after the defense came off the field, but McVay says that wasn’t by design. It’s not as if he and the coaching staff separated the two players.

“No, these guys are grown men,” McVay said. “If you guys heard the stuff that I say on the headset during the games, it’s way worse than smacking another player. This is an emotional game. I always tell people, ‘I can’t promise it won’t happen again but I can always promise to apologize.’ These are things that happen. We’ll keep it moving. These guys love one another and I think this is part of what families go through.”

Fortunately, the mixup and spat didn’t affect the outcome of the game because the defense still played well, but this is something McVay would probably rather not see in the first quarter of a game.

Rams’ Jalen Ramsey throws punches with teammate Taylor Rapp

Jalen Ramsey and Taylor Rapp of the Rams had a scrap with each other

The Los Angeles Rams’ secondary got into a battle — with each other — early in the game Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Jalen Ramsey and Taylor Rapp had some sort of disagreement, which led to hands being thrown at each other.

FOX Sports is doing the game and Pam Oliver reported Rapp and Ramsey stayed far apart from each other when the defense went to the sidelines.
