Tennessee student-athletes announce NIL partnerships with Krystal.

Tennessee student-athletes announced name, image and likeness partnerships with Krystal Tuesday.

Dayne Davis (football), Tayven Jackson (football), Austin Lewis (football), Brandon Turnage (football), Luke Bibee (cheer), Claire Rain (soccer) and Taylor Huff (soccer) have reached NIL partnerships with Krystal.

Krystal is a fast food restaurant chain headquartered in Dunwoody, Georgia. It was founded Oct. 24, 1932 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Davis, Jackson, Lewis and Turnage will kick off Tennessee’s 2022 football season Thursday versus Ball State. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. EDT and SEC Network will televise the season-opening contest.

The Lady Vols will host Bowling Green Wednesday for its next soccer match. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. EDT and SEC Network+ will broadcast the match.

Three Lady Vols named to MAC Hermann Trophy watch list

Three Lady Vols named to MAC Hermann Trophy watch list.

Three Tennessee student-athletes have been named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list.

The list for the award is provided by the United Soccer Coaches and has 61 NCAA Division I players. Mackenzie George, Jaida Thomas and Taylor Huff of Tennessee are on the list.

Nine players on the list, including Thomas, have been recognized as All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches.

Thomas was a second-team All-America selection following the 2021 season. Tennessee won a program best 20 games, the Southeastern Conference Tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 in 2021.

George recorded 10 assists and was a first-team All-SEC player last year.

Huff was a second-team all-conference selection and the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2021.

Taylor Huff recognized on preseason watch list.

Sophomore Taylor Huff has been named to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women’s Players to Watch list for midfielders.

Huff was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year in 2021.

The Mansfield, Ohio native was also a second-team all-conference selection and an all-region standout.

Huff played in 23 matches for the Lady Vols last season and made 22 starts.

She was Tennessee’s second leading scorer with 10 goals and helped the Lady Vols win a SEC Tournament championship.

Huff was No. 4 on Top Drawer Soccer’s Postseason Freshmen 100. She was also named a member of Top Drawer Soccer Freshmen Best XI First Team.

Taylor Huff named National Scholar Player of the Year

Lady Vols incoming freshman soccer player Taylor Huff named National Scholar Player of the Year.

Incoming Lady Vols’ soccer player has earned a national honor.

Taylor Huff was named National Scholar Player of the Year by United Soccer Coaches.

Huff was one of 49 players recognized for their accomplishments on the pitch and in the classroom.

In addition to excellence on the field, players had to hold a minimum of a 3.75 cumulative GPA throughout their high school careers.

Huff, who hails from Mansfield, Ohio, graduated at the top of her class at Madison Comprehensive High School with a 4.00 GPA.

She was named Ms. Soccer by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association and helped her team complete a perfect season and capturing the Ohio Division II state championship.

She scored 34 goals and had 27 assists for the Lady Rams during her senior campaign.

Huff tallied 133 goals and a state record 93 assists during her prep career. She was a four-time United Soccer Coaches All-American and was the 2020 National Player of the Year.
