Prediction

Timberwolves 122, Bulls 113

Moneyline (ML)

The Timberwolves (-162) are favored to take down the Bulls (+135), but this is a little higher than I’d like to risk. Usually my limit is -170 to -180 max. AVOID, and look to the line.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The TIMBERWOLVES (-3.5, -106) are a bit of a risky play, as they’re just 5-15-1 against the spread in the past 21 as a favorite. They’re also 1-5-1 ATS in the past seven in the second end of a home-and-home. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Bulls (+3.5, -115) are 2-7 ATS in their past nine meetings with the Wolves, and 0-5 ATS in the past five trips to the Twin Cities.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 229.5 (-110) is worth a small-unit play, as neither of these pay very much attention to defense. The Over has hit in five of the past six meetings, while going 4-1 in the past five battles at Target Center. The Over is also 11-3 in the past 14 overall for Chicago, and 10-2 in their past 12 as a ‘dog while going a perfect 7-0 in their past seven on the road. The Over is also 6-1 in the past seven for the T’Wolves, too.

Prediction

Celtics 120, Timberwolves 110

Moneyline (ML)

The Celtics had their seven-game winning streak snapped before the All-Star break, but they knocked off the Clippers two nights later to get back on track. Boston is 15-11 on the road this season, which isn’t an overly impressive mark, but it’s far better than the Timberwolves’ 7-20 record at home.

Even without Kemba Walker, the Celtics will win this game outright. Minnesota is only 1-15 in its last 16 games, and that record won’t improve Friday night. Take the CELTICS (-295).

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the Celtics returns a profit of $3.39.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Celtics are only favored by 6.5 points on the road, which is a very manageable spread for a team that’s significantly better than its opponent. Minnesota has been terrible against the spread at home this season, too, going 6-20-1 ATS. The Celtics are 15-10-1 ATS on the road and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.

The Timberwolves, on the other hand, have only covered the spread once in their last 12 games. Take the CELTICS -6.5 (-121) to cover on the road.

Over/Under (O/U)

The over/under is set at 226.5 points with even money coming on the Under. The total has gone Under in 10 of the Celtics’ last 12 games, but both teams rank in the top half of the NBA in scoring this season and Minnesota’s defense ranks 27th.

Jaylen Brown should be out there for the Celtics and with the tear that Jayson Tatum’s been on, Boston should have little trouble scoring. Bet the OVER (-121) tonight.

Prediction

Timberwolves 116, Kings 112

Moneyline (ML)

Both teams have been downright terrible recently; the Kings are 3-7 in their last 10 games and the Timberwolves have lost nine in a row. In the first Kings-Timberwolves meeting this season (Dec. 26), Minnesota won a rare road game, 105-104 in double overtime, despite not having all-star center Karl-Anthony Towns.

Towns has typically performed well against the Kings, winning 10 of 15 games, while scoring over 25 points in eight of those contests. Expect Towns to feast inside against a Kings team missing their best defensive player and rebounder in Holmes.

We are on the Timberwolves (-154) to win tonight but PASS on the moneyline in favor of a more profitable against the spread wager.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

To be honest, this is just a plug your nose and pick a side type of bet because if you dig into the recent betting trends of either squad you’ll be a little sickened. The Kings are 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games overall but the Timberwolves are 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall.

BET TIMBERWOLVES (-2.5, -115) since they are the home team and the recent history between the two clubs favors Minnesota. The Timberwolves have won and covered the spread in each of their last three games versus the Kings, plus they have won their last four home games against Sacramento by an average score of 119-103.

Over/Under (O/U)

I LEAN OVER 225.5 (-115) because the total is too low to pass up. The Under cashed in the last two Kings-Timberwolves games but the Over/Under record is 6-4 in their last 10 meetings. Their combined O/U record on the season is 47-44 and Kings games against Western Conference opponents have an O/U record of 9-3. The Over is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Minnesota.
