Nick Chubb enters the same echelon as Jim Brown during win vs. Buccaneers

Nick Chubb joins Jim Brown as the only other Browns running back with four consecutive seasons with 1,000 yards rushing.

After breaking the 1,000-yard mark on the ground again, running back Nick Chubb has become just the second running back for the Cleveland Browns to eclipse that number four seasons in a row. The only other running back to do so? The legendary Jim Brown, of course.

After back-to-back down weeks, Chubb now sits third in the NFL in rushing as he trails Josh Jacobs of the Las Vegas Raiders by just 120 yards. As Jacoby Brissett exits as the starting quarterback and a more mobile threat enters, running lanes and boxes should get lighter for Chubb the rest of the way out.

And to think, Chubb reached 1,000 yards as a rookie as well before losing yards to end the game to sink him back below that mark.

Browns’ Jacoby Brissett uses a Tom Brady expletive to describe win over Bucs

Jacoby Brissett had some charming words after the Browns beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime

What an ending for Jacoby Brissett and his time as the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns. After a comeback win, including a last-minute game-tying touchdown pass to tight end David Njoku and an overtime dart to Amari Cooper, Brissett was pleased with the outcome as well. When asked about it, Brissett quoted his former teammate Tom Brady, stating, “That was [expletive] awesome.”

After taking the starting snaps during such an uncertain year for the Browns, Brissett did nothing but show guts and grit throughout his eleven starts. The future remains unknown, but whether he returns or gets paid to be a bridge quarterback elsewhere, Brissett will go down as a forever fan favorite in Cleveland.

Jacoby Brissett deserves to go out a winner vs. Buccaneers

The Browns send Jacoby Brissett on a high note against the Buccaneers, and he deserves nothing less than that for how he has handled this season.

The Cleveland Browns managed to squeak out a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. From a last-minute score in regulation to a massive play in overtime, quarterback Jacoby Brissett deserved to win this one. As the Browns transition to quarterback Deshaun Watson starting tomorrow, they got Brissett a win in his last start with the team.

Brissett has given the Browns more than they could have envisioned this season when they signed him to step in during the suspension of Watson. Parting with Baker Mayfield this offseason (who officially will not yield a fourth round pick for the Browns), the Browns knew they needed someone with starting experience to step in.

And they went to Brissett, signing him to a one-year deal this offseason.

WATCH: Nick Chubb caps off 100 yard performance with winner vs. Buccaneers

Nick Chubb capped off another 100-yard performance with the game-winning touchdown run in overtime against the Buccaneers.

After trailing the entire second half, the Cleveland Browns tied the game up with 32 seconds left when quarterback Jacoby Brissett found tight end David Njoku for a touchdown. Then in overtime, it was running back Nick Chubb who brought the Browns home with the game-winning touchdown from three yards out.

This touchdown capped off another dominant showing from Chubb where he racked up a total of 116 yards on 26 carries. After getting shut down in back-to-back weeks, Chubb returned to form and has now eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on the season. He joins just Jim Brown as the only other Cleveland running back to hit that mark over a four-season stint.

WATCH: David Njoku only needs one hand to tie game vs. Buccaneers

The Browns have tied the game with 32 seconds left as David Njoku snags a one-handed touchdown grab on 4th down.

The Cleveland Browns waited until their very last down to tie the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, on a 4th and 10, Jacoby Brissett found David Njoku from 12 yards out. Njoku made the play of the season for the Browns as well, using just one hand to reel in the highlight reel grab.

This is just the second touchdown the Browns have mustered today after wide receiver Anthony Schwartz scored on a reverse on the opening drive. Brissett, however, continues to show guts for the Browns as he plays out his last start of the season before Deshaun Watson takes over.

This game is now headed to overtime.

WATCH: A skunk appears at Browns vs. Buccaneers as if both teams aren’t stinking enough

The Browns now play host to a skunk that has made an appearance as a smelly game is being played between the home team and the Buccaneers

This game taking place at FirstEnergy Stadium has been more thrilling due to the side stories than for the actual game between the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. First, we had the pre-game news that tire tracks were still quite visible on the field after the stadium was vandalized this week. Now, there is an actual skunk making an appearance during this one.

The skunk can be found in section 140 of FirstEnergy Stadium. A skunk is a fitting animal as well as both of these teams have put a stinky product on the field as well. Locked at 10 apiece, this game is a snoozer.

CB A.J. Green being evaluated for concussion vs. Buccaneers

The Browns may be without A.J. Green, who is starting in the nickel today, as he is being evaluated for a concussion.

[sendtonews_embed video_id=”SVr9GPVweV-2388749-7498″]

The Cleveland Browns have announced that cornerback A.J. Green is currently in the medical tent being evaluated for a concussion against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The potential head injury came on a stick Green made in space to bring a ball carrier down for a minimal gain. Green is already filling in as the starting nickel as Greg Newsome is also missing the game with a concussion.

If the Browns are without Green the rest of the way, it will be Thomas Graham Jr. who will come on the field in nickel packages for the Cleveland defense. Stay tuned for more in-game updates from Browns Wire.

WATCH: Anthony Schwartz scores first touchdown on season on reverse vs. Buccaneers

The Browns strike first against the Buccaneers as Anthony Schwartz takes a reverse to the house.

The Cleveland Browns have struck first against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as wide receiver Anthony Schwartz took a reverse for 31 yards to the house on their opening drive. Not overlooked, however, was the block quarterback Jacoby Brissett threw for Schwartz to clear a lane for him.

The Browns tend to strike on their opening drives, but they will need their top-five offense to continue to play like it throughout the rest of the game. As the abysmal run defense of the Browns takes the field, can they stand up tall and get a stop to start the game?

Browns’ field still wears tire tracks from vandalism as Buccaneers arrive

FirstEnergy Stadium still wears the scars of a golf cart joyride as the Browns and Buccaneers face off this afternoon.

[mm-video type=playlist id=01eqbw33aqtym0ft0g player_id=none image=https://brownswire.usatoday.com/wp-content/plugins/mm-video/images/playlist-icon.png]

An unhappy fan took to FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland this week, taking a destructive joyride on the field after the Cleveland Browns took another loss at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. Now as the Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers get set to face off, the field still wears the scars of that joyride.

With just over an hour until game time, these two teams now have to risk playing on an unsafe surface due to the vandalism. Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal provides a full-length shot of the damage:

So much for home-field advantage in this one.
