First look: Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers playoff NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers both cruised in the wild-card round with lopsided victories over the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles, punching their tickets to the divisional round. Now, they’ll square off for the second time this season, a rematch of their Week 3 meeting and their third showdown in the last two seasons. Kickoff in this marquee playoff matchup will be on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET from Raymond James Stadium. Below, we look at the Rams vs. Buccaneers odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

After collapsing in Week 18 by blowing a 17-point lead in their 27-24 overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Rams bounced back in a big way against the Cardinals.

They steamrolled their division rival, winning 34-11 at home Monday night in what was one of the best defensive performances in the first half you’ll ever see in a playoff game.

The Cardinals gained 40 yards and had three first downs in the first 30 minutes, struggling to form any sort of offensive production.

QB Matthew Stafford played mistake-free football with 202 yards and 2 touchdown passes on only 17 attempts, keeping the offense in a rhythm and allowing RB Cam Akers and RB Sony Michel to carry the load on the ground.

The Buccaneers won almost as easily in the wild-card round, crushing the Philadelphia Eagles, 31-15. Despite not having RB Leonard Fournette or WR Chris Godwin, the Bucs still gained 349 yards on offense, including 106 yards on the ground.

Most importantly, they shut down the Eagles’ top-ranked rushing offense, allowing just 95 yards on the ground – 34 of which came on one run by Philadelphia RB Boston Scott.

QB Tom Brady completed 29 of 37 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns, with WR Mike Evans catching nine of those completions for 117 yards and a touchdown.

All-time, the Rams hold a comfortable series lead, going 18-9 against the Buccaneers dating back to 1977. They’ve won seven of the last eight meetings, as well.

When it comes to the playoffs, the Rams and Buccaneers have met twice. The Rams won both games, which were each low-scoring affairs: 9-0 in the 1979 playoffs and 11-6 in the 1999 playoffs. Each time the Rams faced the Bucs in the postseason, they went on to reach the Super Bowl.

First look: Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wild Card NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Philadelphia Eagles (9-8) are on the road for an NFC Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13-4) Sunday. Kickoff from Raymond James Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Eagles vs. Buccaneers odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

Also see: All Wild Card odds and lines

The Eagles were absolutely trounced 51-26 by the Dallas Cowboys in their season finale Saturday, although they had won six of their seven games prior.

Starting QB Jalen Hurts was rested for the Week 18 defeat while starting RBs Miles Sanders (hand), Boston Scott (COVID) and Jordan Howard (COVID) all missed the defeat as well. Hurts is expected to be good to go against the Buccaneers, while the running back situation remains more fluid.

Philadelphia is returning to playoffs after missing the postseason last year.

The Bucs finished the season with three-straight victories and wins in seven of their last eight games. QB Tom Brady finished the season with 5,316 passing yards and 43 TDs, both of which lead the NFL, but he’ll be without two of his top weapons for the playoffs as WRs Chris Godwin (MCL, ACL) and Antonio Brown (cut from team) will both be absent for the playoff push.

Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl last season, their first with Brady under center.

Buccaneers at Colts head-to-head

This last time these teams met (Dec. 2019) QB Jacoby Brissett was under center for the Colts, and the Bucs had QB Jameis Winston as their playcaller – so those results don’t apply to this game.

Tampa Bay is 4-9 ATS as a road favorite since the beginning of last season. Also, including Week 11, the Bucs have played in three Monday Night Football games since the start of 2020. Tampa Bay is 0-2 overall and ATS in its first two games following Monday Night Football in the Brady era.

Indianapolis is 3-3 ATS at home this year but 5-2 ATS as an underdog with a plus-7.1 spread differential.

Monday Night Football picks and prop bets: Are the Giants the perfect team to get the Bucs back on track?

Tom Brady hasn’t lost three straight since 2002. Will that streak end vs. the Giants?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-10.5) aren’t at a crisis point. They might be if they lose to the New York Giants on Monday night.

Tom Brady’s team has vacated its claim as the NFC’s top team thanks to a pair of defeats to underwhelming conference foes the past three weeks. Two-possession losses to the New Orleans Saints and Washington Football Team have pulled back the vulnerabilities of a suddenly-sloppy offense. Brady’s four interceptions have cast a pall over what could be an Age-44 MVP season and Tampa’s chances at defending its Super Bowl title.

Fortunately, a showdown with the 3-6 Giants presents an opportunity to get back on track. New York has struggled through the start of what may be the final season with head coach Joe Judge and general manager Dave Gettleman behind the wheel. Their team has been mostly forgettable in 2021, certainly not good but also not quite bad enough to fall into the Texans/Jaguars tier of shame.

As such, it wouldn’t be completely shocking to see the Bucs drop another game to a middling foe working to jumpstart its postseason hopes. It would still be a surprise, though.

Let’s talk about it. All odds via Tipico.
