Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 18 odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Carolina Panthers (5-11) visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12-4) for a Week 18 game Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Panthers vs. Buccaneers odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Panthers have dropped six in a row, and they have failed to cover each of the past six outings, too. Carolina’s offense has struggled tremendously, as neither QB Sam Darnold nor QB Cam Newton has been able to move the ball.

The defending champion Bucs took care of the Panthers by a 32-6 score at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte in Week 16, covering an 11.5-point number.

Tampa is still battling the Los Angeles Rams for the No. 2 seed, and head coach Bruce Arians was adamant this week that the team will not rest starters in this season finale.

Panthers at Buccaneers odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Buccaneers 33, Panthers 12

Money line

The Buccaneers (-450) will cost you four and a half times your potential return. They’re playing to win, and it’s hard to envision a scenario where the Panthers (+330) rise up and win, but you can’t risk that kind of money for such a small return. That’s amateur hour.

AVOID.

Against the spread

The BUCCANEERS -8.5 (-108) are playing for the two-seed in the NFC, while the Panthers +8.5 (-112) have looked lost across the past month and a half.

Carolina has shown no signs of being able to win an NFL game lately, let alone win on the turf of the defending champs.

Over/Under

The OVER 41.5 (-112) is a strong play, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Bucs nearly take care of this number on their own.

Tampa won 32-6 in the first meeting, nearly hitting the Over with little help from Carolina. Look for a similar lopsided score.

Cincinnati Bengals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the Cincinnati Bengals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 1 preseason matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

In both team’s first action of the 2021 season, the Cincinnati Bengals will travel down to Florida to take on the Super Bowl-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with the game being held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, FL. Below, we look at the Bengals vs. Buccaneers odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Bengals will be without QB Joe Burrow in this preseason game. He tore his ACL in Week 11 of the 2020 season. While expected to be back for Week 1, he’ll be watching from the side in this one.

For Cincinnati, the offensive line’s competency, revamped defense and increasing weaponry on offense will be what to watch for. But without a steady quarterback, they may struggle to get much on the board.

For Tampa Bay, future first-ballot Hall of Famer Tom Brady is expected to play. With a championship-caliber roster returning, they’ll be the heavy favorites even if the most impactful don’t take many snaps.

Bengals at Buccaneers odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Buccaneers 24, Bengals 10

Money line

PASS on the money line because the value for both sides really isn’t there.

The Bucs are coming off a Super Bowl, and with wide receivers like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown on the roster, there is ample talent to dominant Cincinnati.

However, with that -280, I wouldn’t put money on them in a preseason game  they certainly won’t put much stock in.

Against the spread

BET on the BUCCANEERS -5.5 (-115) as the best team bet. Brady is going to play, and having a competent starting quarterback is more than Cincinnati can say. Just one drive by Brady could easily result in an easy 7-0 start.

The Bengals used backup QB Brandon Allen last season following Burrow’s injury. He was unimpressive throwing four interceptions and five touchdowns.

They don’t have much outside of Burrow, and despite potentially having the best three-man trio of receivers in the league, it could still result in a struggling offense.

LB Devin White, DE Ndamukong Suh, RB Leonard Fournette and many others make an ultra-talented roster for the Bucs. Expect the Bucs to be able to run up the score even with their backups in place.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 33.5 (-115) as the Buccaneers have depth all over the offensive side of the ball. Along those lines, the Bengals have a handful of skilled players looking to make a name for themselves.

Allen should’ve been getting reps behind Burrow, and with receivers like Tee Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd, there’s no reason Cincinnati can’t put some points on the board.

RB Joe Mixon is healthy as well, and with a new offensive line coach in Cincinnati, they expect him to have an easy time running the ball.

If the Bengals can get points on the board and Brady gets at least one drive for the Bucs, the much better bet in this one is the Over 33.5. Also, the Bucs are returning most of their third-best offense in the NFL last season.

NFC Championship Game: Green Bay Packers betting favorites vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Green Bay Packers are the betting favorites in their NFC Championship home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The No. 1-seed Green Bay Packers (14-3) will meet the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13-5) in the NFC Championship Game Sunday at 3:05 p.m. ET. Below, we take a look at the early Buccaneers-Packers NFC Championship betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

The Packers scored in every quarter of a Saturday’s NFC Divisional Round game that saw Green Bay defeat the Los Angeles Rams 32-18. QB Aaron Rodgers threw for two scores and ran in a third, racking up 296 passing yards along the way. The victory marked Green Bay’s seventh in a row since a Week 11 setback against the Indianapolis Colts. The last four games in that streak have seen the Packers hold foes under 20 points. Green Bay held the Rams to a 2 of 9 mark on third- and fourth-down plays and to just 244 total yards in the game.

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady also recorded two passing touchdowns and one rushing score in a Sunday victory over the New Orleans Saints. Brady and the Buccaneers battled back from a late third-quarter deficit to defeat the Saints 30-20. A staunch Bucs defense allowed just 294 total yards in helping Tampa Bay win on the road. That defense held the Saints off the scoreboard in the final 20 minutes of play. The Buccaneers defeated Green Bay 38-10 in Week 6 of the regular season.

NFL Divisional Round: New Orleans Saints home favorites vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The New Orleans Saints are the betting favorites in their NFL Divisional Round home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12-5) visit the New Orleans Saints (13-4) Sunday in an NFC Divisional Round battle at 6:40 p.m. ET. Below, we take a look at the early Buccaneers-Saints betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

The last game of the second playoff weekend offers a dream matchup of two of the best NFL quarterbacks to ever play. Forty-three-year-old Tom Brady and soon-to-be 42-year-old Drew Brees face off as the two NFC South rivals meet for a third time this season. The division champion Saints swept the season series, winning 34-23 as 4-point home favorites in Week 1 and a surprising 38-3 rout as 3-point road underdogs in Week 9.

Saturday, Brady led the Buccaneers to their first playoff victory since 2002, throwing for 381 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 31-23 Wild Card win at the Washington Football Team. The Bucs, who failed to cover as 10-point favorites, led 18-7 at the half, and fended off a Washington rally which cut the margin to 18-16 after three quarters. PK Ryan Succop’s third of four field goals and a 3-yard TD run by RB Leonard Fournette (93 rushing yards, 19 carries) increased the Bucs advantage to 28-16 with 9:11 to go, a lead WFT couldn’t overcome. Tampa Bay wideouts Antonio Brown and Chris Godwin each caught a Brady TD pass in the first half, while WR Mike Evans led the Bucs with 119 receiving yards on 6 catches.

The Saints’ Wild Card win came against the visiting Chicago Bears 21-9 Sunday. Brees (28 of 39 pass attempts) threw for 265 yards and 2 touchdowns, RB Alvin Kamara rushed for 99 yards with a 3-yard, fourth-quarter TD, and the defense held the Bears out of the end zone until the final play. Because the TD occurred as time expired, the Bears weren’t required to attempt an extra point, allowing the Saints to cover the spread as 11-point favorites and sending shockwaves through Las Vegas sportsbooks. The Saints defense held the Bears to 239 total yards, including just 48 rushing yards. WR Michael Thomas and RB Latavius Murray each caught a TD pass.

NFL Wild Card: Tampa Bay Buccaneers road favorites vs. Washington Football Team

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the betting favorites in their NFL Wild Card road game at the Washington Football Team.

During NFL Wild Card Weekend, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5) head up to Landover, Md., Saturday for an NFC Wild Card game against the Washington Football Team (7-9) at 8:15 p.m. ET in FedExField. Below, we take a look at the early Buccaneers-Washington betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Tampa Bay truck-sticked NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons in its final home game of the 2020 regular season 44-27 in Week 17. Buccaneers QB Tom Brady capped off what was an excellent first season in Tampa Bay as he torched the Falcons for 399 passing yards and four touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter that helped salt away the win. Brady was magnificent in 2020: Third in passing yards, tied for second in passing touchdowns, and ninth in both QB Rating and QBR. This is Tampa Bay’s first playoff appearance since 2007, which was the second-longest streak behind the Cleveland Browns (2002), who also ended a drought. The Buccaneers finished the regular season with 9-7 against the spread and Over/Under records.

Washington limped into the playoffs —which is more literal than figurative for QB Alex Smith, who battled a calf injury down the stretch—after losing back-to-back games (scoring only 15 and 13 points in those games) but beating a Philadelphia Eagles team that played third-string QB Nate Sudfeld in the fourth quarter of a must-win game on Sunday Night Football to end the season. The Football Team’s roster is full of interesting storylines: Smith is in the running for Comeback Player of the Year, head coach Ron Rivera battling cancer mid-season and a candidate for Coach of the Year, and rookie DE Chase Young who’s expected to be the 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year. Washington relies on a defense that’s tied for second in yards per play allowed and third in Football Outsiders’ DVOA. The Football Team finished the regular season 9-7 ATS and 5-11 O/U.

New to NFL betting?

At -400 odds, the Buccaneers have an implied 80% chance of winning or 1/4 fractional odds (1.25 decimal odds). Tampa Bay needs to win by 9 points or more points for a Buccaneers -8 (-110) ATS ticket to cash. If Tampa Bay wins by exactly 8 points then the bet is a push or tie.

Place your legal, online NFL bets in CO, IA, IN, NJ, PA, TN and WV at BetMGM. Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

At +320 odds, Washington has an implied 23.81% chance of winning or 16/5 fractional odds (4.20 decimal odds). If the Football Team wins outright or loses by 7 or fewer points then a Washington +8 (-110) ATS wager wins.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers favored at home vs. Atlanta Falcons in Week 17

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the betting favorites in their Week 17 home game vs. the Atlanta Falcons.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-5) have already locked up a playoff berth, but they’ll try to secure the No. 5 seed with a win over the visiting Atlanta Falcons (4-11) Sunday. Kickoff from Raymond James Stadium is slated for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we take a look at the early Buccaneers-Falcons betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

The Falcons have had little trouble passing the ball, ranking fifth at 273.7 yards per game. But their defense has been abysmal, performing as one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. The defense allows 287.1 passing YPG to rank 31st, and yields 392.6 total YPG to rank 28th. Atlanta has lost four in a row, though all of those losses were within five points.

The Buccaneers have gotten hot at just the right time, winning three straight heading into the regular-season finale. They crushed the Lions 47-7 last week and once again look like legitimate contenders in the NFC. A win will lock them into the No. 5 seed, setting up a first-round matchup with the NFC East winner.

The Falcons have nothing to play for in this one besides draft positioning, and they’re not expected to win. The money line of +225 gives them a win probability of 30.77% or 9/4 fractional odds against the Bucs. Atlanta must win outright or keep the game within 6 points in a loss for a Falcons +6.5 (-110) ticket to cash.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers road favorites at Atlanta Falcons in Week 15

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the betting favorites in their Week 15 road game at the Atlanta Falcons.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-5) visit the Atlanta Falcons (4-9) Sunday of Week 15 for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff in an NFC South battle – the first of two head-to-head meetings in the season’s final three weeks. Here’s a look at the early Buccaneers-Falcons betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

QB Tom Brady and the Bucs came off their late-season bye and snapped a two-game losing streak with a 26-14 victory over the visiting Minnesota Vikings, covering as 7-point favorites. Brady threw for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns, hooking up with WR Scotty Miller and TE Rob Gronkowski for scores, while RB Ronald Jones rushed for 80 yards and a TD. Defensively, Tampa Bay sacked Vikings QB Kirk Cousins six times, helping offset Minnesota’s 162-107 rushing-yard and 39:03-20:57 time-of-possession advantages. Also greatly aiding the Bucs’ cause were three missed field-goal attempts and a missed extra point by the Vikings.

The Falcons dropped their third decision in their last four games, losing 20-17 to the host Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14. A 43-yard field goal as time expired won it for LA, which was a 1-point favorite. QB Matt Ryan threw for 224 yards, including a 39-yard scoring pass to WR Calvin Ridley, but tossed a season-high three interceptions. The final pick came at the Chargers’ 33-yard line with 30 seconds remaining and set the stage for the game-winning field goal. WR Russell Gage also threw a TD, hooking up with fellow WR Laquon Treadwell on a 9-yard pass. Ridley finished with a game-high 124 receiving yards on eight catches. However, the 3-1 turnover deficit proved to be too much to overcome for Atlanta.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers home favorites vs. Minnesota Vikings in Week 14

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the betting favorites in their Week 14 home game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings (6-6) visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5) Sunday of Week 14 for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Here’s a look at the early Vikings-Buccaneers betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Despite being 10-point favorites, the Vikings needed overtime to fend off the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars 27-24 in Week 13. Minnesota, which has now won five of six, trailed 16-6 after Jacksonville scored a 43-yard interception return on the first snap of the second half. QB Kirk Cousins (28 of 43, 305 passing yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT) then steered scoring drives on the Vikings’ next two possessions for a 19-16 lead late in the third. The Vikes led 24-16 with 3:50 to go – thanks to a safety and PK Dan Bailey’s 48-yard field – but the Jaguars tied it with a 75-yard touchdown drive and 2-point conversion at the 1:08 mark. Bailey, who missed two extra points and a 51-yard field-goal attempt with 13 seconds left in regulation, kicked a 23-yarder to win it with 1:49 left in overtime. Rookie WR Justin Jefferson was Cousins’ top target, finishing with 9 catches for 121 yards and 1 TD, while RB Dalvin Cook rushed for 120 yards on 32 carries but was kept out of the end zone. The defense finished with 4 turnovers and a safety.

The Buccaneers are coming off their bye week, which was needed after dropping back-to-back, 27-24 decisions at home. They lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12 and the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11. QB Tom Brady threw two interceptions in each game, completing 60 percent of his pass attempts (53 of 89) for 561 yards and 5 touchdowns. For the season, Brady ranks seventh in passing yards (3,300) and fourth in passing TDs (28) but is also tied for fourth in interceptions (11). Kansas City Chiefs favored on the road at Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12

The Kansas City Chiefs are the betting favorites in their Week 12 road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-4) Sunday in Week 12 at 4:25 p.m. ET. Here’s a look at the early Chiefs-Buccaneers betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

The Chiefs avenged their only loss of the season with a 35-31 victory at the Las Vegas Raiders in the Week 11 Sunday Night Football game. QB Patrick Mahomes’ 22-yard touchdown pass to TE Travis Kelce with 28 seconds won it – but the Chiefs failed to cover as 8-point favorites in winning their fifth game in a row. The reigning Super Bowl MVP finished with 348 passing yards, 2 TDs and 1 interception. His top targets were Kelce (8 receptions, 127 yards, 1 TD) and WR Tyreek Hill (11 catches, 102 yards, 1 TD), while rookie RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (69 yards, 14 carries) ran for 2 TDs and RB Le’Veon Bell (25 yards, 7 carries) scored his first rushing touchdown with KC.

The Buccaneers lost 27-24 to the visiting Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football as 4-point favorites, falling to 1-3 in primetime games this season. QB Tom Brady (216 passing yards with 2 TDs and 2 picks) was outdone by Rams QB Jared Goff, who threw for 376 yards and 3 TDs with 2 interceptions. WRs Chris Godwin (7 catches, 53 yards) and Mike Evans (5 catches, 49 yards) scored a TD apiece for the Bucs, while Antonio Brown caught a team-high 8 passes for 57 yards. Godwin’s TD, a 13-yarder, tied it at 24-all with 3:53 to go, but the Rams kicked a 40-yard field goal with 2:36 remaining. Brady’s second interception, a long pass from the Bucs’ 38-yard line with 1:56 left sealed the defeat.
