Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will host Super Bowl LV next year, and if you’d asked anyone at the beginning of the 2019 season whether the Bucs had a shot at becoming the first team ever to play a Super Bowl in their own stadium, you’d have been laughed at.
But now that six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and his running mate Rob Gronkowski are teaming up in Tampa Bay, that notion doesn’t seem so far-fetched anymore. And while the Bucs haven’t been to the postseason since 2007, that hasn’t stopped championship expectations from following this squad.
