Report: Suns’ Bradley Beal (back) targeting return vs. Warriors on Tuesday

The Warriors could see Bradley Beal with the Suns for the first time on Tuesday.

After suffering a rough loss in overtime to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, the schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Golden State Warriors.

On Tuesday, the Warriors travel to the desert to meet the Phoenix Suns in a star-studded contest. Tuesday’s game could feature the return of a missing piece of the Suns’ new-look big three.

Bradley Beal could make his highly anticipated return to the court after missing 12 games with a back injury. Beal missed the first seven games of the season with the same injury.

Via @ShamsCharania on Twitter:

Beal has played only three games this season, averaging 17.3 points on 39.1% shooting from the field to go along with 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Injuries have stopped the Suns’ trio of Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker from playing together this season.

The Warriors meet the Suns on Tuesday in Arizona at 7 p.m. PT.

Watch: Klay Thompson picks up first ejection of his career on Tuesday vs. Suns

For the first time in his career, Klay Thompson was ejected from a game on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns.

Through nine seasons in the NBA, Klay Thompson has done a lot of different things in his career. Four championship rings, five All-Star bids, All-NBA teams and even a three-point contest championship are on Thompson’s resume.

However, on Tuesday night against the Phoenix Suns, Thompson experienced a career-first.

As the Golden State Warriors’ contest against the Suns began to heat up in the third quarter. Thompson and Suns guard Devin Booker appeared to be jawing back and forth with each other. After Thompson swatted away one of Booker’s jumpers, the pair were assessed with a double-technical.

Via @NBCSWarriors on Twitter:

Despite the technicals, the chatter between Thompson and Booker didn’t slow down. Just minutes later, Thompson picked up his second technical and was ejected from the contest due to jawing with Booker and the Suns’ bench.

Via @BleacherReport on Twitter:

Tuesday marked the first time in Thompson’s nine-year career he was ejected from a regular-season game.

Following Thompson’s ejection, an entertaining back and forth battle turned into a blowout favoring the home team. The Suns ran away with Tuesday’s contest against the Warriors, 134-105.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors’ blowout loss to Suns on Tuesday night, 134-105

Following the Warriors’ blowout loss to the Suns in Phoenix, NBA Twitter weighed in with different reactions on Tuesday night.

Through the two-and-a-half quarters of Tuesday’s contest between the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns, it felt like a playoff game at the Footprint Center in the desert.

Each team traded runs and clutch buckets, resulting in an intense battle into the third quarter. The intensity only ramped up in the third quarter, with seven total technical fouls being handed out by referee Ed Malloy.

With six minutes remaining in the third quarter, Klay Thompson received his first career ejection after picking up a pair of technicals for jawing back and forth with Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker. When Thompson was ejected, the Warriors were trailing by six points. Before the third quarter came to a close, the Suns’ advantage ballooned all the way to 19 points.

The pair of Booker and Mikal Bridges combined for 20 points in the third quarter to take a firm grip on the game with one quarter remaining. Despite Steph Curry’s late attempts to build a run, the Suns slammed the door in the final frame.

Booker hit a clutch 3-pointer to go along with nine points in the fourth quarter as the Suns closed out the Warriors on their way to a blowout, 134-105. Although the Warriors had six players scoring in double-figures, they had no answer for the Suns late.

Following the Warriors’ second loss of the early season, the NBA community chimed in on Twitter with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Tuesday evening after Golden State’s blowout loss in Phoenix.

NBA Twitter reacts to Klay Thompson getting ejected vs. Suns

After Klay Thompson was ejected in the third quarter against the Suns, NBA Twitter exploded with different reactions.

Although it’s only the fourth game of the 2022-23 season, Tuesday’s contest between the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns brought playoff intensity.

With each team trading back and forth buckets, tempers began to flare in the third quarter. Seven total technical fouls were assessed in the third quarter alone, including a pair to one member of the Warriors, resulting in an ejection.

Throughout the game, Devin Booker and Klay Thompson appeared to be chirping back and forth with each other. After Thompson blocked Booker’s jumper, their chatter began to escalate.

As Booker and Thompson’s back and forth continued, the pair of All-Star guards received double technicals. The animated Thompson quickly picked up his second technical and was ejected from the contest with 6:31 remaining in the third period. Before being sent to the locker room, Booker continued to have words with Phoenix’s bench.

After spending nine seasons in the association, Tuesday marked the first time Thompson was ejected from a game in his NBA career.

Thompson left the contest with two points on 1-of-8 shooting from the field with two assists and a block in 19 minutes.

Following Thompson’s early exit, the NBA community on Twitter exploded with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on social media on Tuesday night.

NBA Twitter reacts to Suns extending win streak with win vs. Warriors

Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Twitter after the Suns extended their win streak to 17 games with a victory over the Warriors.

With winning streaks on the line paired with the top two teams in the Western Conference, buzz was looming around the first clash between the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. The pair of teams lived up to the hype.

During a back and forth battle with the Suns, Steph Curry uncharacteristically struggled on Tuesday night in the desert. The early-season Most Valuable Player candidate tallied a season-low 12 points on a cold 4-of-21 shooting from the field. Curry added three boards and two assists in 35 minutes.

With Curry having an off night, Jordan Poole took over for Golden State. The third-year guard recorded a game-high 28 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field with five rebounds, three assists and two steals in 35 minutes. Poole heated up from long distance, drilling six triples on 12 attempts from beyond the arc.

Despite Poole’s performance, it wasn’t enough to slow down the red-hot Suns. Behind a fierce defensive effort, the Suns took over in the fourth quarter on their way to a 104-96 victory.

With a win over the Warriors, the Suns matched a franchise record with 17 consecutive victories. Phoniex and Golden State now sit at the top of the Western Conference with the same record of 18-3.

The Warriors will have a chance for revenge on Friday when the Suns travel to San Francisco for a rematch at Chase Center.

After the Suns extended their league-best winning streak to 17 games with a win over the Warriors, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with different reactions. Below is a look at what fans and analysts were saying about Tuesday night’s potential playoff preview.
