Phoenix Suns at Miami Heat odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Phoenix Suns at Miami Heat odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns (8-4) face the Miami Heat (6-7) Monday at FTX Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Suns vs. Heat odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Suns have had 2 days of rest after a disappointing 114-97 loss to the Orlando Magic Friday as they failed to cover as 7-point favorites. Phoenix is getting stellar contributions from G Devin Booker, who is averaging 26.7 points on 47.5% shooting with 4.5 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

The Heat are riding a 2-game win streak — with both wins coming against the Charlotte Hornets — the most recent of which was a 132-115 victory Saturday as they covered as 8.5-point  home favorites.

Suns at Heat picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 113, Heat 108

Moneyline

Even with Paul being questionable for Phoenix, give me the SUNS (+102). Even if he doesn’t play, the Suns should be able to make it a competitive game and steal a win on the road versus a potentially shorthanded Heat team.

Against the spread

SUNS +1.5 (-108) is the ideal choice in this game considering that I took Phoenix to win outright. The Suns have won 4 out of the last 5 meetings against the Heat.

The Heat are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games against an opponent with a winning record and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games following a win. Meanwhile, the Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road matchups with the Heat.

Over/Under

Neither of these teams plays at a fast pace. The Suns play at the 4th-slowest pace in the league while the Heat play at the 8th-slowest pace in the NBA. That being said, I’ll take OVER 215.5 (-110) for Monday’s showdown.

The Over has gone 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between the Suns and the Heat.

Phoenix Suns at Miami Heat odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Phoenix Suns at Miami Heat odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns (52-13) travel to South Beach Wednesday to play the Miami Heat (44-22) for a 7:30 p.m. ET game at FTX Arena. Below, we look at the Suns vs. Heat odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Phoenix has won three of its last four games but is just 4-3 straight up (SU) and 2-5 against the spread (ATS) since the All-Star break. The Suns eked past the Orlando Magic 102-99 Tuesday and failed to cover as 6-point road favorites.

Miami has won six of its last seven games following the All-Star game (6-1 ATS), which includes recent victories over current Eastern Conference top seeds in the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.

The Heat roasted the Suns 123-100 in Phoenix Jan. 8 as 9.5-point road underdogs. Miami was missing F Jimmy Butler and big Bam Adebayo and attempted 14 fewer free throws while the Suns were at full health.

Suns at Heat odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Heat 115, Suns 105

Money line

PASS because Miami is the right side here but the Heat (-220) are far too expensive. The Suns also underperform on the second of back-to-backs and this is the healthiest the Heat have been all year.

Miami SG Victor Oladipo made his season debut in the Heat’s previous game against the Houston Rockets. Oladipo is on a minutes restriction but scored 11 points on 57.1% shooting in 14:38 minutes of action Monday.

Against the spread

BET the HEAT -5.5 (-105) for 1 unit because a majority of the action is on the Suns and there’s typically value in fading public underdogs.

Miami is very profitable when playing with a rest advantage and Phoenix is a bad bet when playing the second of a back-to-back. The Heat are an NBA-best 12-4 ATS with an edge in rest (plus-7.0 ATS margin) and the Suns are 4-6 ATS when playing on zero rest days (minus-5.2 ATS margin).

Miami is also 10-5 ATS when laying 5-7 points and 20-11 ATS when playing teams with a winning record. While Phoenix is 0-4 ATS as underdogs of 3 or greater and 11-13 ATS when playing teams with a winning record.

The HEAT LAYING 5.5 POINTS (-105) is my favorite wager in this game. However, I’d wait until closer to tip-off before betting Miami since money will come in on Phoenix after it announced All-Star G Devin Booker will return to action Wednesday.

Over/Under

PASS because both teams’ leading scorers are listed as “questionable” on the injury report.

If anything, I “lean” to the Over 218.5 (-108) because these teams have a combined 30-25 O/U record versus teams with a winning record and all three of the referees assigned to this game have officiated more Overs.

Suns at Heat: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Suns 108, Heat 103

Money line (ML)

The Heat are currently on a three-game losing streak but had won 11 of 12 games before that. The Suns have won two in a row and three of four.

Phoenix has the league’s best road winning percentage this season at 72.2% while Miami is only 12-10 at home. Phoenix is 9-5 against the Eastern Conference this year.

Take the SUNS (-125).

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Suns continue to be a great bet. They now have the league’s best ATS record at 28-13 and second-best cover percentage on the road at 72.2 percent. They have covered the spread in every single win this season. Phoenix hasn’t covered the spread in a loss this year.

Miami is 18-24-1 ATS this season and 8-13-1 ATS at home. Phoenix is completely healthy. They should win this game.

Take the SUNS -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The Suns have had three of their last four games go Under the total and they have allowed 101 points or fewer in three of their last four as well.

Seven of the last 10 for the Heat have gone Under. Miami’s Over percentage is 44.2%, the seventh-lowest in the league.

Take UNDER 215.5 (-110).
