There’s another, bigger Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League delay

Nintendo released the final Tears of the Kingdom trailer ahead of the open-world game’s May launch, and there’s quite a bit going on

Rocksteady announced another Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League delay to help make the multiplayer game “the best quality” it can be. The team now plans on releasing the Suicide Squad game on Feb. 2, 2024, roughly nine months after it was meant to release in 2023.

“We have made the tough, but necessary decision to take the time needed to work on getting the game to be the best quality experience for players,” Rocksteady said in its announcement on Twitter. “Thank you to our amazing community for the continued support, patience, and understanding. There is much more to share in the months ahead, and we look forward to seeing you in Metropolis next year.”

This delay is the latest in what appears to have been a troubled development cycle. Rocksteady announced a shorter delay of a few months after Kill the Justice League’s 20-minute deep dive during February’s State of Play. The showing received a largely negative reaction, as viewers criticized the shooter game’s structure and battle pass.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier said his sources told him this delay has nothing to do with that poor reception, however. Schreier said the team was told the delay is just to polish the existing game and pointed to Starfield’s nine-month delay as another example of how complicated the finishing process is for large games such as Kill the Justice League.

That February appearance was the first we’ve seen of Kill the Justice League in a while. The game made an appearance briefly in 2022, and Rocksteady announced Kevin Conroy would voice Batman, after the actor’s death near the end of the year.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gets gameplay first look trailer at The Game Awards 2021

Here’s some hot gameplay for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League!

RockSteady Studios has finally given us our first look at gameplay for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League at The Game Awards 2021.

Set in a sprawling Metropolis, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts players in the shoes of playable characters Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark as the team is tasked with taking down The Justice League. Kill the Justice League will be a continuation of RockSteady’s popular Batman: Arkham series and is set to take full advantage of the current generation hardware in the Xbox Series X/S and PS5, alongside PC.

Thursday’s trailer for Kill the Justice League showcased the game’s hybrid of action-adventure gameplay alongside shooter elements that help make up the combat. Kill the Justice League can be played as a single-player experience — with the ability to swap seamlessly between the four playable characters — or as a multiplayer co-op campaign with friends.

Sadly, RockSteady Studios did not announce an official release date for Kill the Justice League, which is still set for a 2022 release window. Fans can get their hands on Kill the Justice League on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

You can prank call Amanda Waller from ‘Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’ for real

No really, with your actual phone.

It’s not every day that we can call up comic book characters in real life, but Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League  is giving aspiring pranksters a chance to do just that.

Over on Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s Twitter account, developer Rocksteady shared the phone number +1 (310) 564-7047 with no explanation. If you call it, Amanda Waller picks up and begins shouting at you. She thinks you’re Harley Quinn screwing around for whatever reason. Please note, however, that this probably won’t work if you’re calling from a number outside the US.

I know this is you Harley,” Waller says over the phone. “I have given you weapons, resources and full sign-off to execute the Justice League, and you’re here spending my time on prank calls!? Stop screwing around and take the targets down. Now!”

Check out a recording of Waller’s response for yourself below.

If you’re not familiar with the character, Amanda Waller is a government agent in DC Comics that’s usually in charge of the team in Suicide Squad. Safe to say the character will probably be in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League  if she’s out here taking public phone calls that may-or-may-not be Harley Quinn.

We’ll finally get another look at Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League at DC Fandome on Oct. 16, which will hopefully include gameplay.

Many fans thought ‘Suicide Squad’ was the best DCU movie ever made

Here’s what fans are saying about the absolutely epic movie.

This article contains spoilers from Suicide Squad. If you haven’t seen it or don’t want to know what happens in the movie, then you should scram. Last chance: Get the heck out of here.

There was nothing simple about James Gunn’s Suicide Squad — except maybe the plot. OK, definitely the plot.

Everything else — the action, the characters, the humor — was a blur of chaos. The movie was so committed to being absurd that it somehow worked perfectly, elevating the stakes of silliness with every outrageous scene. It started with a human-sized weasel seemingly (but not actually) drowning to death and finished with the death of a Kaiju starfish with mind control powers by the name of Starro The Conqueror. And by the way, there was no other way to end this movie than to have that beast upend a building and attempt to take control of an entire city — and, perhaps, the world, if the Suicide Squad had not intervened.

The characters and the tone of the movie were consistently over the top, with moments like King Shark, basically a steroidal Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy, trying to eat “Num Num” up until the final credits. That’s what made it funny. That’s what made it more succesful, in my opinion, than the OK-but-inconsistent DCU movies like the two Wonder Woman films and Zac Snyder’s Justice League.

It’s a low bar to clear to earn the title of “Best DCU film.” But I’d say that’s what this reboot of Suicide Squad earned. And I’m not the only one who feels that way.

The first ‘Suicide Squad’ trailer is out, and it looks absolutely absurd (in a good way)

Can Warner Bros. get this movie right?

Warner Bros. released the first trailer for its soft reboot of Suicide Squad, and the movie seems to lean heavily into absurdity with wild costumes, crazy CGI (see: King Shark) and ridiculous humor.

After one trailer, it’s completely unclear what the plot will be — but the movie will include a star-studded cast of oddball heroes and anti-heroes, who are intent upon completing … a “mission.” What mission? I literally have no idea, but it appears to involve a guns, explosions, a kaiju and an extremely charming Idris Elba. (Sign me up.) Director James Gunn is bringing his silly emotional tone — and his on-point soundtrack choices — that he developed with the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

An important warning: There is explicit language in this trailer. Here’s the railer.

Looks like a lot of fun, right?!
