Broncos vs. Vikings broadcast map: Will the game be on TV?

The Denver Broncos (3-6) will face the Minnesota Vikings (7-3) on the road in Week 11 of the 2019 NFL season on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 11:00 a.m. MT. The game will air regionally on CBS and in-market fans can stream the contest with FuboTV (try it free).

Kevin Harlan (play-by-play) and Rich Gannon (analyst) will call the game for CBS with former NFL kicker Jay Feely reporting from the sideline.

On the radio, the game will air locally on KOA 850 AM/94.1 FM and The Fox 103.5 FM in English. The contest will also air in Spanish on KNRV 1150 AM.

Denver and Minnesota have faced off 14 times in the past and the all-time series is tied 7-7. The Broncos have won each of the last three contests, including a 35-32 victory on the road in 2011.

Fans in the blue areas on the map below will get the game on local CBS stations, according to 506sports.com.

Fans in the red will see the Houston Texans (6-3) face the Baltimore Ravens (7-2) and those in the yellow will watch the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-5) take on the Indianapolis Colts (5-4). Fans in the green will see the Buffalo Bills (6-3) face the Miami Dolphins (2-7).

Denver is considered a 10.5-point road underdog this week.

Report: Bengals will evaluate Colin Kaepernick’s NFL workout

A new report says the Bengals will have an eye on the workout.

The Cincinnati Bengals will keep an eye on Colin Kaepernick’s NFL workout over the weekend.

According to Tyler Dragon of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the team will evaluate the details of the process. No word on if the front office will have anyone in attendance, but it sounds like the Bengals will indeed join the fray of at least getting the film to evaluate the happenings.

The NFL announced Tuesday that Kaepernick would partake in a workout for teams on Saturday in Atlanta, including on-field work and interviews. Teams have been invited, though we’ve yet to see official attendance sheets make the rounds.

Kaepernick turned 32 earlier this month and hasn’t played since 2016.

From a Bengals perspective, paying attention to the happenings there makes some sense with Andy Dalton clearly on his way out the door, leaving — for now — only Ryan Finley as the future of the position.

Panthers bring back Greg Dortch for practice squad, Browns sign Bryan Cox Jr.

The Panthers didn’t miss Greg Dortch for long.

The Panthers didn’t miss Greg Dortch for long. Just days after waiving the wide receiver/return specialist, the team has brought him back for the practice squad, signing him off the Jets’. To make room, they released wide receiver Quadree Henderson.

Dortch had a strong debut for Carolina against the Titans two weeks ago. He posted 52 yards on two kickoff returns and 11 yards on two punts.

In Green Bay, the Panthers replaced Dortch by going with D.J. Moore as their punt returner and DeAndrew White on kickoffs. Both did pretty well, so until that dynamic changes we probably won’t see Dortch called up to the 53-man roster.

In related news, the Browns picked up defensive end Bryan Cox Jr., who was also recently released by the Panthers.

Cleveland is arguably the most disappointing team in the AFC this season. They come into this week at just 3-6 despite high expectations.

Cox flashed several times for the Panthers, so he might be able to carve out a respectable backup role for himself with the Browns’ tough defensive line.

Steelers miss the mark in latest 2020 NFL draft

The Steelers needs to be smart with their second-round pick in 2020.

2020 draft picks are in short supply for the Pittsburgh Steelers. After trading away their first and third-round picks for 2020, the pressure to land an impact player in the second round goes up significantly. And unfortunately, in the latest three-round mock draft from Draft Wire, the Steelers miss the mark with their one all-important choice.

They have the Steelers drafting Oklahoma State wide receiver Tylan Wallace. Don’t misunderstand, Wallace is an excellent receiver. He had 86 receptions for 1,491 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns in 2018. He’s a solid route runner and fits perfectly in a scheme designed to use his explosiveness.

But there are two things wrong with this pick. First off, the Steelers have a nice rounded out group of receivers. The Steelers have two second-round picks in JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Washington along with former third-round pick Diontae Johnson. There are greater positions of need on this roster to spend a pick this important on Wallace.

Second, and maybe more important is that Wallace suffered a torn ACL just two weeks ago. I understand how far medical technology has come but it is hard to see him being a contributor as a rookie at this point. Wallace could be a great player but with needs at other spots, it would be better to look elsewhere.

Falcons tight end Austin Hooper left Sunday’s win over the Saints due to a knee injury. Hooper, who’s been one of the NFL’s elite tight ends this season, had an MRI which revealed he has an MCL sprain.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the team will be without its star tight end for about a month.

With just seven games remaining, you have to wonder if Hooper will even make it back on the field this season. Backup TE Luke Stocker should get more time over the next few weeks, but he’s not the weapon Hooper is.

Stocker has just six receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown in 2019.

‘Good Morning Football’ calls Vita Vea one of the best players we’re not talking about

See what the folks over on “Good Morning Football” had to say about Buccaneers nose tackle Vita Vea.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally got the proverbial monkey off their back last Sunday when they defeated the Arizona Cardinals and put an end to their four-game skid.

The Bucs entered their Week 10 contest just 2-6 after going 1-4 during a brutal five-game road trip away from Raymond James Stadium. Now, back in the friendly confines of their home stadium, the Bucs will look to keep the momentum going in Week 11 when Drew Brees and the division-leading New Orleans Saints come to town.

The Bucs secondary will have its work cut out for them as the team parted ways with cornerback and former first-round pick Vernon Hargreaves yesterday. Fortunately, for Tampa Bay, they still have the league’s best rush defense, giving up just 77.8 yards per game.

One of the big reasons they’ve been so great up front has been the play of second-year man Vita Vea. He not only played defense in their win over the Cardinals, but he saw some action on the offensive side of the ball, too.

And, according to NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” Vea is one of the best players in the NFL we aren’t talking about.

Take a look.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Vea get some more looks on offense. I think Bucs fans everywhere would like to see a little Refrigerator Perry action at some point.

The problem: accuracy

After seven starts, we know more about what Allen is and isn’t at quarterback. He is a relentless competitor and excellent teammate who has said all the right things and taken blame for his mistakes since Cam Newton’s injury. However, Allen has also been erratic in the pocket and has missed too many open receivers. Allen is completing just 61.5% of his passes this year. That’s more than six points lower than Newton’s completion percentage from 2018. While he seems to have a strong rhythm established with D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey, Allen is often out of sync with Curtis Samuel and Greg Olsen. Working on timing with those two might help boost his accuracy.

Pro Football Focus: Christian McCaffrey is the highest graded Panthers player in 2019

Christian McCaffrey is making a compelling case to prove them wrong this year. 

Some people will tell you that running backs don’t matter. They’re the most replaceable players on the roster and it’s not worth using a first-round draft pick on them, no matter who it is. Christian McCaffrey is making a compelling case to prove them wrong this year.

Coming into Week 11, McCaffrey ranks second in the NFL in yards from scrimmage – Dalvin Cook has 30 more yards and one more game played. He’s been by far the most valuable piece for the Panthers this season. Without McCaffrey’s contributions, Carolina’s offense would be effectively useless and the team’s record would certainly be much worse than 5-4.

It’s not just that McCaffrey is putting up high usage numbers – he’s playing at an extremely high level. Pro Football Focus has McCaffrey as the highest-graded Panthers player (89.3) this season.

“McCaffrey has been borderline superhuman this season. Yes, Jacobs has a higher overall grade than the Panthers back, but McCaffrey has played over 250 more offensive snaps than Jacobs in Weeks 1-10. McCaffrey has also earned an elite 92.1 receiving grade so far this season, which ranks second among qualifying backs.”

Unfortunately, it’s pretty much a one-man show for the Panthers offense. The next-highest graded player is second-year wide receiver D.J. Moore, who comes in 10 points lower than McCaffrey at 79.4. Then, there’s another significant drop down to tight end Greg Olsen, who has a 69.4 overall grade.

On defense, there’s no outlier like McCaffrey. Despite what’s been an off season by his standards, inside linebacker Luke Kuechly has the top PFF grade at 81.3. Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is next at 79.0. First-round pick Brian Burns started the year off hot but a wrist injury has slowed him down lately and his grade has fallen to 59.2.

The team won the time of possession battle over New Orleans thanks to a combination of offensive execution and creative play-calling. In Touchdown Wire’s Top 5 offensive lines of Week 10, the Falcons’ line was ranked fourth.

Although there were some issues with hands to the face penalties, the Falcons’ O-line was a big part of the success. Facing a defense ranked ninth overall, and in the top half of the league in QB hits, they did an excellent job protecting Ryan, allowing one sack and five hits. On the ground attack, they provided a decent lane-opening at the front and a substantial push to the second level—which helped the Falcons look like a playoff contender and not the meager one-win team that the Saints were matching up against.

Atlanta will look to keep the momentum going when it plays another divisional road game against the 5-4 Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
