Texans signed veteran corner Steven Nelson to a two-year, $10 million, per a league source

The Steven Nelson era is over in Philadelphia after one year, as the veteran cornerback is headed to the Texans on a two-year, $10 million deal.
Nelson made a solid cornerback duo next to Darius Slay and PFF named the veteran defensive back the one player Philadelphia can ill-afford to lose in 2022 free agency.
Nelson earned his sixth straight season grade above 60.0, missing just two tackles all season, and earned an 86.0 tackling grade as well.
In 2021 for the Eagles, Nelson recorded 50 total tackles with an interception and seven passes defended, and his signing comes just days after head coach Lovie Smith publicly addressed the Texans’ need for an upgrade at the position.
Philadelphia has four young cornerbacks on the roster that the organization is confident in playing opposite Darius Slay, but the expectation is that they’ll add a cornerback in the draft.
