Steve Carell praised Nikola Jokic’s spot-on Gru impression from his Despicable Me 4 promos

Even Steve Carell thinks Nikola Jokic could steal the moon.

Earlier in these NBA playoffs, Nikola Jokic made waves with a hilarious Despicable Me 4 teaser. The video riffs on Jokic’s being a dead-on ringer for the main character, the mastermind villain Gru. Jokic would follow the teaser by literally dressing like Gru during one of his pregame tunnel walks before a first-round game with the Los Angeles Lakers.

It seems Jokic won over perhaps the most important person regarding that teaser/look—Steve Carell, a.k.a. the voice behind Gru.

In a new video from the Despicable Me 4 red carpet courtesy of Extra TV, Carell was asked about Jokic’s Gru impressions. The legendary comedic actor lavished the Denver Nuggets with praise for nailing it all perfectly:

Maybe Jokic will steal the moon himself one day. Who knows?!
