Is Steph Curry a top-five player of all-time?

Has Steph Curry proven himself as a top-five player in NBA history?

Steph Curry is the face of the Golden State Warriors franchise. He is the best shooter the NBA has ever seen. He is a four-time champion. And, even at age-36, he’s among the best players in the NBA. As such, his position in the league’s history, and where he ranks among the all-time greats, is often discussed during the offseason.

During a recent episode of “No Media,” former NBA guard Deron Williams debated where Curry stacked up against the greatest players in league history. Williams spent 12 seasons in the NBA and faced off against Curry on multiple occasions, so he is speaking from experience.

Curry will be entering his 16th season with the Warriors later this year. He is still capable of helping them win another championship in the coming seasons. If he wins a fifth ring before he retires, the debate around where he ranks all time will undoubtedly reach fever pitch.

You can hear Williams full thoughts on Curry’s status among the all-time greats by clicking on the embedded video above.

Steph Curry is the only Warriors player not discussed in trade talks

The Golden State Warriors veteran will likely retire with the franchise.

The Golden State Warriors are expected to be active in the trade market ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. They have already added multiple new faces courtesy of the six-team sign-and-trade deal that sent Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks. Nevertheless, Golden State will likely seek additional reinforcements in the coming months.

According to Steve Kerr, who was recently speaking on an episode of the “Willard & Dibs show,” the only player not being floated in potential trade discussions is Steph Curry, everyone else, which likely includes Draymond Green, are potentially up for grabs in the right deal.

“There’s very few players in the league who are not talked about in trade discussions. Steph Curry is not being talked about in trade talks. Everybody else is,” Kerr said. “And if you went down the list of NBA teams, the Los Angeles Lakers probably aren’t talking to anybody about LeBron James. Everybody’s got maybe one or two guys who are off the table. So the vast majority of the players in the NBA are going to be discussed in trade talks, because everyone’s trying to improve their team.”

Currently, there’s no telling whether the Warriors will find a trade that makes sense for their roster. However, they would be wise to continue searching the market if they want to get back to contending for titles during the final phase of Curry’s career.

Mike Dunleavy expects Steph Curry to be a ‘Warrior for life’

Steph Curry is expected to end his career with the Golden State Warriors.

Steph Curry has been with the Golden State Warriors since 2009. He has helped lead them to four championships. He is among the most dominant guards in the history of the NBA. And, at 36 years old, he’s still one of the best shooters on the planet. As such, the Warriors are expected to negotiate a contract extension with the veteran superstar.

During a recent interview, Warriors General Manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. admitted that Curry could get ‘whatever he wants’ from the franchise and that he will likely retire as a one-team player when he does eventually decide to call time on his career.

“All that stuff will get figured out, and I think Steph will be—I’d say, pretty confident he’ll be a Warrior for life,” Dunleavy said.

Curry still has enough left in the tank to help spearhead another push for a championship. The Warriors have done a good job of re-tooling the roster during the summer, however they must try and address the lack of size in the front court.

Curry still has two seasons remaining on his current four-year $215 million deal. It will be interesting to see what his next contract looks like, as it could potentially take him into his 40s.

Stephen Curry was so giddy about finally throwing lobs to LeBron James

The two long-time rivals might are even more fun as USA teammates

USA Basketball fans finally got to see their men’s Paris Olympics squad take the floor for the first time in Wednesday night’s friendly against Canada in Las Vegas and the results were pretty mixed.

While Team USA won comfortably, 86-72, it’s clear there are still. few things to iron out. Joel Embiid looked completely lost playing under FIBA rules and was a bit sloppy with 15 turnovers. Both will likely get better with practice.

One thing that doesn’t need cleaning up? Steph Curry’s timing on throwing lobs to LeBron James.

The two superstars couldn’t hide how giddy they were to finally be on the same team after years of playing against each other at the highest levels. That was easy to spot on the court, too, as James tried (and failed) to hit Steph for an open 3-pointer. Curry, however, didn’t miss when tossing alley-oops to LeBron — and the look of satisfaction on both of their faces was worth the wait.

It almost makes you wish the Warriors had been able to complete a trade for James at the deadline last season.

The two were still giddy about the play when asked about it on the court in a postgame interview.

“I missed him in the first half on a wide open three that I threw out of bounds, but he was able to connect with me on the lob,” James said. “It’s fun. We play the game at a high level but more importantly we just play the game that we love the right way and that’s the result of it.”

We’re likely to see a lot more of this over the next few weeks in Paris. Which may help explain why USA is such a heavy favorite heading into the Olympics.

This Steph Curry pose after getting foul by Canada is a perfect photo, no notes

Strike a pose, Steph.

Steph Curry, as we know, loves to have fun on the court — remember the “night-night” that went viral?

So there he was with Team USA against Canada, getting fouled and hitting the bucket en route to a win for the Olympic squad in a tune-up … and he hit the floor, leaned on his elbow and posed like he was a model.

The slow-motion video from that play is just the best, but the photo? It’s a 10/10, no notes. If it doesn’t become a meme, I’ll be truly shocked.

Here you go — the moment, plus another look at the snapshot of it:

Steph Curry scores 12 points in Team USA’s showcase win vs. Canada

Steph Curry notched double-figure scoring numbers during Team USA’s win over Canada on Wednesday in Las Vegas.

Before they set sail for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Team USA will play five exhibition games, starting with a showcase contest in Las Vegas against Canada on Wednesday evening.

Team USA started ice cold, missing their first six shots from the field. However, the Golden State Warriors point guard came to the rescue. Stephen Curry got the Americans going after shaking free with a pump fake before knocking down a much-needed jumper from beyond the arc.

After trailing throughout the first half, Team USA flipped a switch in the second half. As Team USA surged to the lead over Canada, Curry showed off his array of different skills. Curry was the only member of Team USA to hit multiple triples, along with racking up three assists and two rebounds in 19 minutes.

Curry finished with 12 points, serving as one of Team USA’s four members to register double-figures. With 13 points off the bench, Anthony Edwards was the only player on Team USA to outscore Curry.

Along with knocking down the long ball, Curry notched a pair of highlights passing the ball. Curry hit Jrue Holiday with a behind-the-back pass before finding LeBron James for a must-see lob dunk.
