First look: Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills Week 5 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-3) visit the Buffalo Bills (3-1) Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Steelers vs. Bills odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

After throwing for 400 yards and coming up short in Week 3 at the Miami Dolphins, QB Josh Allen led the Bills to a 17-point comeback last Sunday in a 23-20 win at the Baltimore Ravens. Allen engineered at 12-play, 77-yard drive to set up K Tyler Bass’ 21-yard, game-winning field goal as time expired.

After the 2-week road swing, the Bills return home with revenge on their minds. Pittsburgh won in Buffalo 23-16 in last season’s opening week.

The Steelers enter this game on a 3-game skid. After winning in overtime at the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, they have looked bad, losing their last 3 games – to the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, and most recently, the New York Jets.

In Sunday’s 24-20 home loss to the Jets, coach Mike Tomlin decided to make a switch to rookie QB Kenny Pickett for the second half as Pittsburgh trailed 10-6 at halftime. Although he almost led the Steelers to a win – they led 20-10 early in the 4th quarter – the Jets were able to mount another comeback behind returning QB Zach Wilson.

This Week 5 matchup features 2 teams headed in different directions. If the Bills play the way they should, the Steelers need to watch out. It might get ugly.

Steelers vs. Bills head-to-head

The Steelers and Bills are playing for the 4th time in the last 4 seasons. The previous 3 games were decided by 7 or more points and each cashed Under tickets by an average of 8.7 points.

With the Steelers defense able to stop the Bills offense, points have been hard to come by in this rivalry. As mentioned, Pittsburgh won 23-16 in Buffalo last year. The Bills took the previous 2 contests, 26-15 at home in 2020 and 17-10 on the road in 2019.

With LB T.J. Watt missing for Pittsburgh and FS Micah Hyde and CB Tre’Davious White for the Bills, points may be easier to come by in this one.

Make sure to check who will be the QB for Pittsburgh before betting on this game. If Pickett is making his 1st start as a pro against an elite Bills team, you might want to reconsider any Steelers wager you might want to place on this one.
