Rockets at Lakers: Tuesday’s odds, over/under, betting picks, prediction

Houston has a clear “under” trend on point totals, but Tuesday could be more challenging due to injuries by Daniel Theis and Jae’Sean Tate.

In what amounts to a mini-series, Tuesday’s game between the young Houston Rockets (1-5) and veteran-laden Los Angeles Lakers (4-3) is the second straight between the teams at Staples Center. If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We have the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 9:30 p.m. Central and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.

In the same building where they just played on Sunday, rookie Jalen Green and the rebuilding Rockets will immediately run it back versus LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the star-studded Lakers. Houston lost by 10 in the first game, though most of that was due to a 19-point deficit that they dug themselves by halftime. Led by the likes of Kevin Porter Jr., KJ Martin, Christian Wood, and Eric Gordon, the Rockets outplayed the Lakers in the second half — and they would love to build on any momentum from that performance and snap a four-game losing skid.

Rockets at Lakers notable injuries:

Unfortunately for the Rockets, they might not be as healthy as they were in Sunday’s game. While Theis and Tate are still named by the team as projected starters, they’re each officially listed as questionable to play Tuesday due to a sore right big toe and sore right ankle, respectively. Reserve forward Danuel House Jr. remains out with a right foot sprain.

The Los Angeles injury report is long, though many of the listed names appear likely to play. Trevor Ariza (right ankle), Talen Horton-Tucker (right thumb), and Kendrick Nunn (right knee) are again listed as out; Dwight Howard (neck), Wayne Ellington (left hamstring), and James (right ankle) are questionable; and Davis (right knee) is probable.

James and Davis both played through the same designations on Sunday, so it would be a surprise if that did not occur on Tuesday, as well.

Projected Lineups

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Lakers -9.5
  • Money line: Rockets +420 / Lakers -600
  • Over-under: 216.5 points

Advice and prediction

Through six games, the Rockets have yet to go “over” in any of their games. Thus, the under might be the safest bet. However, it’s worth noting that oddsmakers adjusted by dropping the line from 221.5 (for Sunday’s game) to the current total of 216.5, so it should be a closer call. It’s also hard to make that call with much conviction without knowing the statuses of Tate and Theis, who are among Houston’s top defenders.

Prediction: Lakers 112, Rockets 104

The game tips off at 7:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports NE.

The Hornets are coming off their second loss of the season against the Miami Heat on Friday. The Trail Blazers defeated the Clippers in their last game on Friday.

Trail Blazers at Hornets notable injuries:

For the Hornets, Terry Rozier is listed as probable as he makes his way back from his ankle sprain, which has caused him to miss all but one game this season.

For the Trail Blazers, they’ll be without wing Tony Snell, who is out with a right foot injury.

Rockets at Lakers: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

After losing by 31 in their most recent game, Houston is understandably a big underdog versus LeBron James and the Lakers.

Sunday’s game between the Rockets (1-4) and Los Angeles Lakers (3-3) kicks off a five-game road trip for Houston, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We have the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 9:30 p.m. Central and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.

Led by promising talents such as Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Christian Wood, the young Rockets are currently in the middle of a rough scheduling stretch. Sunday’s game is the fourth of a seven-game run in which each opponent made the playoffs last season, and it’s the first of two straight games versus the Lakers — with a rematch coming Tuesday.

Rockets at Lakers notable injuries:

Making matters worse, Houston will again be shorthanded. Danuel House Jr. remains sidelined by a right foot sprain, though Porter could return after leaving Thursday’s game early due to a sprained left ankle.

The Los Angeles injury report is long, though many of the listed names appear likely to play. Trevor Ariza (right ankle), Talen Horton-Tucker (right thumb), and Kendrick Nunn (right knee bone bruise) are listed as out; Wayne Ellington (left hamstring) and LeBron James (right ankle) are questionable; and Anthony Davis (right knee) is probable.

Barring a setback, it appears likely that James will play, since his injury dates back to earlier in the week — and he played successfully on the ankle with 26 points and 8 assists during Friday’s win over Cleveland.

Projected Lineups

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Lakers -10.5
  • Money line: Rockets +520 / Lakers -800
  • Over-under: 221.5 points

Advice and prediction

The Rockets were blown out Thursday by Utah, but they were otherwise competitive in the three previous games, which included a blowout win over Oklahoma City and two 10-point losses to Boston and Dallas. After an uncharacteristically sloppy showing against the Jazz and two off days to rest, they should be motivated to at least compete.

Prediction: Lakers 113, Rockets 103

Warriors vs. Thunder: Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

The latest odds from Tipico Sportsbook and our betting picks for Saturday’s Warriors-Thunder game.

The Golden State Warriors play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 5:30 p.m. PT and can be seen on NBC Sports Bay Area and Bally Sports Oklahoma.

The Thunder tested the Warriors in Oklahoma City just four days ago, and had Golden State down by 11 points at halftime. Steph Curry was held to 23 points, but the Warriors stormed back to win by eight.

Warriors vs. Thunder notable injuries:

Warriors: Jonathan Kuminga (right patellar tendon strain) is probable. Damion Lee (right shoulder contusion) and Juan Toscano-Anderson (left ankle sprain) are questionable. Klay Thompson (injury recovery) and James Wiseman (injury recovery) are out.

Thunder: No players listed

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Warriors -12.5
  • Money line: Warriors -1000 / Thunder +600
  • Over-under: 220.5

Advice and prediction

The young Thunder had an impressive performance at home, but without their home crowd energizing them, I don’t expect this game to be as close. 12.5 is a big number for a Thunder team that has covered in consecutive games, however, so I’m staying away from the spread.

Instead, I’m focusing on a player Over/Under. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s point total seems low at 23.5. He’s scored 29, 30 and 27 in his last three games, and that 30-point outing came against the Warriors. Take the over on SGA.

Prediction: Warriors 119, Thunder 109

Bulls vs. Jazz: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets for the game between the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz on Saturday night.

The Chicago Bulls play the Utah Jazz on Saturday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBCS Chicago.

The Bulls are coming off their first loss of the season on Wednesday against the New York Knicks, where DeMar DeRozan missed a game-winning jumper at the buzzer. The Utah Jazz remain undefeated with a record of 4-0.

Jazz at Bulls notable injuries:

The Bulls will be without Patrick Williams, who was announced as out for the season on Friday with a left wrist dislocation.

The Jazz will be without Rudy Gay who has a heel injury.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Jazz -3.5
  • Money line: Jazz -165 / Bulls +133
  • Over-under: 218.5

Advice and prediction

This game will be Chicago’s toughest test so far this season and coming off the season-ending injury of Patrick Williams, look for the Jazz to cover the spread while hitting the under.

Prediction: Jazz 110, Bulls 104

Lakers vs. Cavaliers: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets for the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers Friday.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 10:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on Spectrum SportsNet or Bally Sports Ohio.

Los Angeles (2-3) is coming off a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in which it blew a 26-point lead, so team morale is in a shaky place. LeBron James is questionable, but L.A. will need him against the lengthy Cavaliers squad.

Cleveland (3-2) has essentially three 7-footers in the starting lineup: Lauri Markkanen, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. So L.A. could have a tough time scoring when attacking the paint, especially if James isn’t available.

Cavaliers at Lakers notable injuries:

Lakers: OUT – Trevor Ariza (ankle), Talen Horton-Tucker (thumb), Kendrick Nunn (knee)

Questionable: LeBron James (ankle), Wayne Ellington (hamstring), Rajon Rondo (ankle)

Cavaliers: OUT – Isaac Okoro (hamstring), Kevin Pangos (personal reasons)

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Lakers -8.5
  • Money line: Lakers -410 / Cavaliers +310
  • Over-under: 219.5

Advice and prediction

The Cavaliers allow the seventh-lowest number of points per game (103.2). Though the Lakers have scored at least 120 points in the last two games without LeBron, the offense is prone to struggling when opponents pack the paint. With Cleveland’s size advantage, the Lakers could have a rough scoring night since Anthony Davis will not have much room to operate.

Take the Cavaliers plus-8.5, Cavaliers plus-310 and the under 219.5.

Prediction: Cavaliers 104, Lakers 98

Hornets vs. Heat: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets for the game between the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat for Friday’s game.

The Charlotte Hornets play the Miami Heat on Friday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN.

Charlotte is coming off a 120-111 victory against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, notching their fourth win of the season.

Hornets at Heat notable injuries:

For the Hornets, Terry Rozier is listed as questionable with a right ankle sprain while P.J. Washington is out with right knee sprain.

The Heat will be without Victor Oladipo who continues to rehab his right knee injury from last season.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Heat -6.5
  • Money line: Heat -260 / Hornets +205
  • Over-under: 220.5

Advice and prediction

This will mark the Hornets toughest test of the season so far. Look for the Heat to win at home but for the Hornets to slightly cover the spread while hitting the under.

Prediction: Heat 110, Hornets 104

The best bets for the game between the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks on Thursday night.

The Chicago Bulls play the New York Knicks on Thursday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! Knicks at Bulls notable injuries:

All-Star Zach LaVine is listed as questionable, who is dealing with a small ligament tear in his thumb on his non-shooting hand. Chicago will again be without guard Coby White, who is rehabbing his shoulder.

The Knicks will be without Nerlens Noel with a knee injury.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Bulls -1.5
  • Money line: Bulls -117 / Knicks -103
  • Over-under: 214.5
