UFC 309 video: President-elect Donald Trump makes entrance in New York

a

NEW YORK – Donald Trump lived up to his word to appear at UFC 309 after winning the 2024 presidential election.

Just weeks after becoming president-elect in the U.S. for the second time, Trump appeared cageside for Saturday’s event at Madison Square Garden, walking out prior to the pay-per-view main card alongside UFC CEO [autotag]Dana White[/autotag] to a raucous applause from the crowd.

It has become commonplace for Trump to appear at UFC events, and he did it again to the sounds of Kid Rock’s “American Badass.”

[autotag]Mansur Abdul-Malik[/autotag] had a dream octagon debut on Saturday when he ran through [autotag]Dusko Todorovic[/autotag] for a first-round finish at UFC Fight Night 247.

After earning a UFC contract on Week 1 of this year’s season of Dana White’s Contender Series, Abdul-Malik (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) showed why he was one of the more intriguing signings off the show when he overwhelmed Todorovic (12-5 MMA, 3-5 UFC) with power punches for a TKO at the 2:44 mark of Round 1 in the middleweight bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Check out the replay of Abdul-Malik’s performance below (via X):

Abdul-Malik was humble in the aftermath of his win, thanking his family, team and corner, which included former 185-pound champion Sean Strickland.

“Clean work,” Abdul-Malik said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. “I want to make sure I stay this man and this person for the rest of my journey.”

UFC Fight Night 247 video: Charles Radtke rocks Matthew Semelsberger for 51-second TKO

Charles Radtke handed Matthew Semelsberger his fourth straight loss at UFC Vegas 100, and needed just 51 seconds.

[autotag]Charles Radtke[/autotag]’s power proved to be too much for [autotag]Matthew Semelsberger[/autotag] at UFC Fight Night 247, and it led to a quick win.

Radtke (10-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) tagged Semelsberger (11-8 MMA, 5-6 UFC) early in the opening round of the welterweight bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and he didn’t let up from there. He continued to put hands on a stunned opponent until the referee jumped in and waved it off a mere 51 seconds after the fight began.

Although an argument could be made the fight should’ve been let go longer, the decision was made to wave it off. Check out the replay below (via X):

The result marked a fourth consecutive defeat for Semelsberger inside the octagon, and the potential end to his promotional tenure. Radtke, meanwhile, rebounded from his first UFC defeat in promising fashion.

“How’d you all like that f*cking knockout?” Radtke said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. “Respect to Matt, by the way. I thought I was going to come in here and have a dog fight for 15 minutes, but I put that dog to sleep.”

Manon Fiorot vows to retire Valentina Shevchenko in potential UFC title fight

Manon Fiorot is getting impatient with her wait for a UFC title shot.

[autotag]Manon Fiorot[/autotag] is getting impatient with her wait for a UFC title shot.

Fiorot (12-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) has steadily knocked off contenders while the title fight trilogy between [autotag]Valentina Shevchenko[/autotag] and Alexa Grasso played out. Now that Shevchenko has emerged with the women’s flyweight belt, Fiorot is eager to finally book her first championship opportunity.

The Frenchwoman took to social media on Friday and made a pointed callout at Shevchenko (24-4-1 MMA, 13-3-1 UFC), declaring that she will take the belt and send “The Bullet” into retirement from the sport (via X):

Stop making people wait! Let’s do it soon enough so I can send you to retirement and move on.

Fiorot, No. 3 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie women’s flyweight rankings, has yet to be beaten under the UFC banner. The 34-year-old has already defeated Erin Blanchfield, Rose Namajunas, Mayra Bueno Silva and more during her run, and is looking to climb the ultimate prize of UFC gold.

In a recent interview on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” No. 1-ranked Shevchenko said she is open to a fight with Fiorot, who weighed in as the backup fighter when Shevchenko reclaimed the 125-pound belt from Grasso at UFC 306 in September.

Social media reacts to Penn State’s thrilling OT victory over USC

Here is how social media reacted to Penn State’s thriller against USC in Los Angeles.

It looked bleak at halftime, but Penn State managed to pick up a huge 33-30 overtime victory against the USC Trojans in Week 7. The game was full of big plays, turnovers, clutch fourth-down conversions, you name it. In a game that had everything, there were even some things you may not see anywhere else in college football this season.

USC kicked off the highlights with a 75-yard touchdown on a reverse by running back Quinten Joyner, the longest play allowed by Penn State all season. USC added to their lead by driving down the field for another touchdown to go up 14-3. The teams traded field goals before USC added another last-second field goal to go up 20-6 at the half.

Penn State rode Tyler Warren offensively all game, but he really took over in the third quarter. This trick play touchdown where he snapped the ball was the most spectacular, but he racked up 17 receptions for 224 yards overall on the day. Penn State would add another touchdown to their total on their next drive to tie the game at 20, and the teams once again traded field goals on their next scoring drives.

USC would drive the length of the field again to go up 30-23, only for Drew Allar to convert two fourth downs on the way to a tying touchdown of their own. After failed drives by each team, it went to overtime where USC missed their field goal attempt. After picking up a few yards for kicker Ryan Barker, he banged it home for the win. Let’s take a look at how social media reacted to the thriller in Los Angeles.

Safe to say Ryan Barker wasn’t too nervous for his game-winning kick

Someone clearly spoke to soon

Have a day, Tyler!

Coach Franklin didn’t seem too happy

Kansas fans wishing Andy Kotelnicki was still around…

Plenty of love for Ryan Barker

[autotag]Pat Sabatini[/autotag] caught [autotag]Jonathan Pearce[/autotag] in a compromising position in the opening round of their UFC Fight Night 244 bout and didn’t relent until he got the finish.

He methodically worked away at a rear-naked choke until he finally got the arm under the neck and forced. his opponent to tap at the 4:06 mark of Round 1.

Check out the replay of the finish below (via X):

“I think I have an edge over everybody in this division on the ground,” Sabatini said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. “(I want to fight again) sooner rather than later.”

UFC Fight Night 244 video: Clayton Carpenter cuts open Lucas Rocha before choking him out

After taking a 20-month layoff in the aftermath of his octagon debut, [autotag]Clayton Carpenter[/autotag] returned to action Saturday at UFC Fight Night 244 and put on a violent performance against [autotag]Lucas Rocha[/autotag].

It was largely one-way traffic for Carpenter (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in the flyweight bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Check out the replay of the overwhelming finish from Carpenter below (via X):

Jamahal Hill snaps back at Alex Pereira’s dig following UFC 307 win: ‘You will see me soon’

Jamahal Hill isn’t letting go of his ill will toward Alex Pereira following UFC 307 – especially after the champion took a shot at him.

[autotag]Jamahal Hill[/autotag] isn’t letting go of his ill will toward [autotag]Alex Pereira[/autotag] following UFC 307 – especially after the champion took a shot at him.

Hill (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) ramped up his beef with Pereira (12-2 MMA, 9-1 UFC) on Saturday when he was caught on camera sarcastically yawning cageside at Delta Center in Salt Lake City after “Poatan” delivered a fourth-round TKO of Khalil Rountree in the main event to defend the light heavyweight belt (via X):

Pereira, who defeated Hill by first-round knockout at UFC 300 in April for the first defense in his current reign, was asked about the video during the UFC 307 post-fight press conference. The Brazilian has not been a fan of how Hill has conducted himself in the aftermath of the fight with complaints about the refereeing and stoppage, and he used the opportunity to take a dig at his former opponent.

“Maybe he just woke up from UFC 300,” Pereira said with a laugh.

Hill did not sit idle while Pereira made his statement. He quickly replied in the comments on social media, and reiterated what he’s said in the past: That he’s coming for a rematch (via Instagram):

Hill hasn’t competed since the loss to Pereira at UFC 300. He was scheduled to fight Rountree at UFC 307 in July, but was forced to withdraw due to injury and has yet to be scheduled for anything else.

UFC 307 video: Ryan Spann rocks, taps Ovince Saint Preux to snap three-fight skid

Ryan Spann once again showed what he’s capable of when he’s on top of his game with a vicious finish of Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 307.

[autotag]Ryan Spann[/autotag] once again showed what he’s capable of when he’s on top of his game with a vicious finish of [autotag]Ovince Saint Preux[/autotag] at UFC 307.

With his back against the wall on a three-fight losing skid, Spann (22-10 MMA, 8-5 UFC) came out of the gate and hurt Saint Preux (27-18 MMA, 15-13 UFC) early in the opening round of their light heavyweight bout at Delta Center.

As his opponent tried to recover, Spann snatched the neck and forced his way on top with a guillotine choke that forced Saint Preux to frantically tap out just 95 seconds after the fight began.

[lawrence-related id=2776216]

Check out the replay of the finish below (via X):

After the fight, Spann was thrilled in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan and said this is where his run at 205 pounds truly begins.

Meanwhile, Jon Anik noted on the broadcast that Saint Preux fought out of the final bout on his UFC contract, and it could possibly be it in the octagon for the man with the most wins in divisional history.
