New Orleans Saints share photos of snowbound practice facility

The New Orleans Saints and fans around Louisiana shared photos of the rare snowstorm delivering heavy snow for the first time in recent memory:

The state of Louisiana and the southeastern United States in general are typically not known for their snowfall, nevermind getting significant amounts of it. However on Tuesday, Jan. 21, that was most certainly a notation that was turned on its head, as New Orleans received eight inches of snow before noon according to Louis Armstrong International Airport, and in some areas near a foot of snow.

This is completely unprecedented, however, for many it was a day of fun and enjoyment as they had the chance to go outside and enjoy the snowfall, as it was the first significant appearance of snow in Louisiana since 2021. The state also issued its first-ever blizzard warnings, with many roads eventually being closed due to the occurrence.

Here are some notable posts from around social media about the snow and the winter fun that was had:

Inclement weather may prove costly in the Aaron Glenn sweepstakes

Aaron Glenn left the Jets’ facility without a contract agreement, but weather delayed and possibly cancelled the Saints’ golden opportunity:

The New Orleans Saints had to push back their scheduled interviews due to inclement weather in Louisiana. It originally wasn’t believed to be a big deal, but the danger of rescheduling became apparent Wednesday.

There is a belief that Aaron Glenn prefers the New York Jets over the Saints, which is supported by Glenn interviewing in person in New York before making the trip to New Orleans. That belief shouldn’t waver just because Glenn hasn’t sign a contract with the Jets yet. There was also a belief Glenn wouldn’t get out of the building without agreeing to a deal.

However, that’s exactly what happened. Glenn walking out of New York without a deal changes the situation significantly. If weather didn’t shut down the airport, Glenn would have been in New Orleans on Wednesday.

There is always a chance Glenn and the Jets agreed to a deal on Wednesday before the interview, but the Saints most likely would have gotten their chance to meet with who appears to be their top guy.

Due to the rescheduling, Glenn may still not make it to New Orleans. The Jets won’t ease up on their pursuit, and now they have more days unopposed. If the interview with Glenn doesn’t happen until Friday, that gives the Jets a three day head start over the Saints.

Glenn leaving the Jets facility without a contract signed opened an unexpected, but not unbelievable, opportunity for the Saints. Unfortunately, weather keeps the Saints from capitalizing on it and has the potential to close their window.

Chiefs DB tweeted a relatable take on epic Kansas City snowstorm

One #Chiefs DB tweeted a relatable take about the recent snowstorm that hit Kansas City.

The Kansas City Chiefs are taking some well-deserved time off after securing a 15-2 record in the regular season, which earned the team a first-round bye in the AFC playoffs.

Though Kansas City’s players may have been looking forward to spending some time around town during their brief hiatus, a powerful snowstorm that swept through Western Missouri may have changed their plans.

One Chiefs defensive back, veteran safety Justin Reid, had an all-too-relatable take on the snow and ice that fell over Kansas City this week as he looked to dig his vehicle out of his driveway.

Take a look at what Reid had to say to his followers on Twitter:

Reid wasn’t the only Chiefs defender to have an eventful time in the snowstorm.

Cornerback Jaylen Watson was also active on social media during the winter weather and connected with a fan who helped him shovel as he recovered from an injury.

Chiefs DB Jaylen Watson gave heartwarming gift to fan who shoveled his snow

#Chiefs DB Jaylen Watson had a heartwarming interaction with a fan this week as Kansas City dealt with a brutal snowstorm.

Kansas City Chiefs players may be taking a week off heading into the playoffs, but they are not immune from the household chores many of us face, including shoveling snow.

Amid Kansas City’s historic snowstorm this week, Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson took to Twitter to ask his followers for a shovel to borrow.

One Chiefs fan, user @huwokchu, responded to Watson and offered his services to the two-time Super Bowl champion.

After exchanging Twitter DMs, the Twitter user met up with Watson to shovel his snow and the second-year defensive back rewarded him with a signed authentic jersey that read “To William. Thanks for the help + support. Go Chiefs!!”.

Take a look at their full interaction below:

KCTV’s Marleah Campbell ran a story on the good deed, which proved to be a hit for the local news station.

Watson has been sidelined since Week 7 due to an ankle injury, but he is expected to return to action during Kansas City’s playoff run after the Chiefs opened his practice window last week.

Orchard Park, NY, engulfed in snowstorm on eve of 49ers-Bills

A massive snowstorm hit the Buffalo area

The lake effect snow hit Western New York with a vengeance over Thanksgiving weekend.

Sunday night’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and Bills is still on but the weather outside the stadium in Buffalo suburb Orchard Parch is frightful.

The Bills were paying people $20 an hour to try and keep the field and venue as snow-free as possible but the way it was coming down seemed like a losing battle.
