Wisconsin lands their first WR in the class of 2021

The Badgers land a 2021 WR out of Connecticut

While the Badgers already have a strong recruiting class on both sides of the football in 2021, the position that was missing from that group was WR. Wisconsin went a long way in solidifying that position today, as 2021 WR Skyler Bell chose UW.

The three-star prospect out of the Taft School in Connecticut chose the Badgers over the likes of Iowa, who had multiple 247Sports crystal ball predictions, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech among others.

As a receiver and a kick returner, Bell put up solid 2019 numbers according to his Hudl highlight tape. The future Badger had 36 grabs for 549 yards and 8 touchdowns through the air, while returning two kicks for touchdowns.

Wisconsin, and the 2021 group chat filled with the commits in the class, had been heavily recruiting Bell and hopping on Zoom calls with him frequently in the past few months.

This piece begins to complete the puzzle that is the class of 2021, which is a consensus top-20 class in the nation.

The Badgers are currently without a wide receiver in their impressive class of 2021. Those involved are hoping that will change on Sunday at 12 p.m. eastern when three-star wide receiver Skyler Bell announces his commitment.

The Watertown, Connecticut native had the Badgers in his top five schools when he announced them on August 8–the other four being Iowa, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Rutgers.

247Sports has the wide receiver as the No. 1102 player in the class of 2021, the No. 164 recruit at his position and the No. 6 prospect from the state of Connecticut.

Though the Badgers have been heavily pursuing Bell, 247Sports’ crystal ball projection has him choosing to play for Kirk Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Check back on Monday to see which school lands the three-star wide receiver.

Class of 2021 three-star wide receiver Skyler Bell, a key target for Paul Chryst and his staff, released his top 5 schools yesterday and among those named were the Wisconsin Badgers.

As seen above the other teams in the running for Bell are Rutgers, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Iowa.

The Watertown, Connecticut native is the No. 1101 recruit in the class of 2021, the No. 163 wide receiver and the No. 6 player from the state of Connecticut.

Though the Badgers have been heavily pursuing Bell to fill the void at wide receiver, 247Sports’ crystal ball projections has him choosing to play for Kirk Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The race isn’t over yet, though, and landing Bell would be a huge addition to a 2021 class that is currently without a wide receiver.

Paul Chryst and the Wisconsin Badgers are currently without a wide receiver in their already-impressive class of 2021. They have been trying to change that recently, though, as today they offered 2021 three-star wide receiver Skyler Bell.

Bell has been linked to the Badgers for a little while now, though it was until today that he officially received an offer from the program.

The Watertown, Connecticut native is one of the top wide receivers currently on the Badgers’ radar and is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1096 player in the class of 2021, No. 162 wide receiver and the No. 6 prospect from his home state.

Other schools currently pursuing the wide receiver include Iowa, Virginia Tech, Rutgers and West Virginia.

Of the six 247Sports experts that have given predictions on where Bell will land, all have put in a high-confidence prediction that he will sign with the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Continuing the recent trend of current and future Badgers trying to lure top players to the program, though, class of 2021 four-star quarterback Deacon Hill was quick to let Bell know where he should decide to play.
