Eagles announce three roster moves ahead of Week 8 game vs. Bengals

The Eagles have signed OL Jack Driscoll to the active roster and have signed WR Parris Campbell and DT Siaki Ika to the Practice Squad.

The Eagles are set to take the field for their first practice of Week 8, and the team signed Jack Driscoll to the active roster from the practice squad.

The team also announced that Parris Campbell and defensive tackle Siaki Ika have signed to the practice squad.

Driscoll was elevated to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Giants. Driscoll was also brought up for the Week 6 game against the Browns, playing five snaps on special teams.

Driscoll was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 3, rejoining the team after spending four years with them and being drafted in the fourth round of the 2020 draft.

Campbell had six catches for 30 yards and a touchdown in four games with the Eagles.

A third-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2023, Ika was released from the Browns’ practice squad on October 15.

Ika played in four regular-season games for the Browns last season as a rookie and the playoff contest in Houston.

Browns part ways with third rounder just one year after drafting him

The defensive tackle will now look for a new home

The Cleveland Browns have officially cut their former third round selection, defensive tackle Siaki Ika.

The Baylor defensive tackle was a hopeful pick coming out of the 2023 NFL draft and was selected to make an immediate impact. Unfortunately, Ika could not start his NFL career on the right foot in Cleveland.

The former Baylor star was a great player for the Bears as he entered Cleveland for his first season. In two years at Baylor, he had 48 tackles and 8 sacks as their defensive tackle. He was unable to bring his collegiate productivity to Cleveland after recording zero tackles in his rookie year.

After being cut, the second-year DT will now look for a fresh start as the Browns are not expected to keep him on the practice squad. Even if presented with an offer to remain with the Browns, Ika is most likely in search of a fresh start to his professional career.

Browns to release interesting young NT the Steelers could consider

The Browns are releasing former third-round pick Siaki Ika.

There are going to be dozens of names come out over the course of the next 8 or so hours of players NFL teams have released to get their rosters down to 53. Many of them will return to their original team on the practice squad and others will seek out a new team where they hope to have an impact.

When it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers, we expect to see some movement to help bolster some positions of need like offensive tackle, wide receiver or cornerback.

But what about a guy just because?

According to reports, the Cleveland Browns are releasing defensive tackle Siaki Ika. Ika is a guy we really liked as a nose tackle pre-draft for the Steelers. The Browns picked Ika in the third round of the 2023 NFL draft.

Ika got lost in the shuffle in Cleveland and only dressed for four games. He’s a no-risk/high-reward guy who could really help the team if he’s motivated and ready to play.

Predicting the Cleveland Browns biggest bust of the 2024 NFL season

It could be another disappointing year for the third round pick

Identifying many issues with the 2024 Cleveland Browns roster heading into training camp is hard. Sure, there are some questions about depth in some areas, but if depth is your biggest issue, you feel pretty confident about the overall makeup of your roster.

However, one of my biggest concerns is the depth of the defensive tackle room in terms of run stuffers. Outside of the two veterans, Dalvin Tomlinson and Shelby Harris, most of the room consists of great pass rushers with questionable run-defense ability.

One of last year’s third-round picks, Siaki Ika, is the lone depth piece known as a run stuffer. But if the team leans on him for serious snaps this year, they could be in trouble against the run up the middle. Ika regressed his final season at Baylor and was borderline unplayable for the Browns as a rookie.

Ika struggles to play with good leverage and his bad hand usage sticks out when you see him get pushed around in the run game. He has the mass and strength profile to get it done but can’t seem to put it together and offers next to nothing as a pass rusher.

Players can always make leaps, but this player showed all the knocks on him coming out of college, which was spot on last year. The team could keep Ika over a player like Maurice Hurst II, which would be a mistake.

Browns: Denzel Ward, Dorian Thompson-Robinson headline inactives vs. Rams

The Browns have announced their inactives against the Rams, headlined by Denzel Ward and Dorian Thompson-Robinson

The Cleveland Browns are all but ready for kickoff for their Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The Browns have announced their inactives for the game ahead of this matchup. Their obvious losses are headlined by quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, still in the concussion protocol after a late hit last week, and cornerback Denzel Ward, who has missed his second straight game with an ailing shoulder.

Other than that, the rest of the Cleveland inactives are standard as they have been throughout the season. The Browns have continued to ease their rookies onto the field, as only wide receiver Cedric Tillman and right tackle Dawand Jones have seen significant playing time in 2023. Given the injuries in the secondary, both rookies Kahlef Hailassie and Ronnie Hickman are active against the Rams today.

Here are all the inactives for the Browns today as they look to rebound and advance to 8-4 on the season in Los Angeles.

Browns vets hilariously strap rookie defensive linemen with $40k dinner tab

The vets stuck the rookies with a hefty tab…

Fun, hilarious rookie hazing happens in the NFL every year, and a bit of it took place for the Cleveland Browns last night. As the team travels and spends the week in Los Angeles as they prepare for the Rams, the defensive linemen went out for dinner together. And rookie defensive linemen Siaki Ika and Isaiah McGuire got a “welcome to the NFL” moment.

As the check from the dinner came due, all of the veterans huddled around the youngsters, sticking them with a tab of nearly $40,000 on the night. They knew their famous rookie dinner was coming eventually, and the bill finally came due for McGuire and Ika.

This team seems bonded better than any other Cleveland team before them. This joint dinner among the defensive linemen headlined by a good bit of fun with the rookies is just another example. Hopefully, this all leads to a rebound win for the Browns as they stay in Los Angeles for the week.

Browns Inactives: Juan Thornhill in, Anthony Walker Jr. out vs. Broncos

The Browns have announced their inactives as Juan Thornhill will play. Anthony Walker Jr. is out against the Broncos

Coming into this Week 12 matchup against the Denver Broncos, the Cleveland Browns saw two starters with questionable designations. Safety Juan Thornhill and linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. were not 100 percent to give it a go this week in practice. However, as the Browns release their inactives list, Thornhill will play in the Mile High City, while Walker Jr. will miss this matchup against the 5-5 Broncos.

Look for Sione Takitaki to start at MIKE linebacker in Walker Jr.’s absence, with Tony Fields II taking over as SAM (Takitaki’s usual post). The Browns did get linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk back from Injured Reserve this week as well to soften the blow of Walker Jr.’s nagging hamstring. To help fill the void of their missing defensive backs, the Browns also brought up two young guns from the practice squad.

Here is the full list of inactives as the Browns look to make it four straight, taking on the Broncos on the road.

Juan Thornhill, Marquise Goodwin headline Browns’ inactives vs. Steelers

The Browns will take on the Steelers without Juan Thornhill and Marquise Goodwin today.

The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are getting set in a clash of 6-3 AFC North teams looking for the edge. The Browns will not only be without quarterback Deshaun Watson for the rest of the season, but they will be without wide receiver Marquise Goodwin and safety Juan Thornhill as well.

This means that undrafted free agent safety Ronnie Hickman will dress in this one, and wide receivers Cedric Tillman and David Bell may see more targets coming their way.

Goodwin and Thornhill are just two of the inactives announced by the Browns in this Week 11 matchup as they look to jump to 7-3 on the season. The Steelers will be without safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, defensive tackle Montravious Adams, and safety Keeanu Neal in this showdown at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Here is the full list of inactives released by the Browns as they prepare to get another win at home with Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center.

Greg Newsome II highlights Browns’ inactives, Dawand Jones active vs. Cardinals

The Browns have released their inactives against the Cardinals

Coming into this Week 9 matchup, the Cleveland Browns have already ruled out cornerback Greg Newsome II, wide receiver David Bell, and defensive end Alex Wright. Offensive tackle Dawand Jones was named as questionable for the game but is officially active against the Arizona Cardinals.

Due to the injury to Bell and the trade of Donovan Peoples-Jones, the Browns have promoted James Proche II from the practice squad for this game. Fourth round rookie Isaiah McGuire is set to make his NFL debut in this game due to the injury of Wright, who has come into his own this season for Jim Schwartz and his defensive unit.

Look for third round rookie wide receiver Cedric Tillman to see a massive increase in his role as well. This is an excellent game for quarterback Deshaun Watson to get his footing underneath him, but also for the rookie class to have a breakout.

Here is the full list of inactives for Cleveland as they look to advance to 5-3 against the 1-7 Cardinals.

Browns announce Deshaun Watson, Cedric Tillman, 5 others as inactive vs. Seahawks

The Browns have announced their gameday inactives against the Seahawks.

The Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks are now just 90 minutes from kickoff as these two 4-2 teams get set to lock horns. And just as teams do an hour and a half before kickoff every week, the Browns have released their list of inactive players for this Week 8 bout. The announced inactives are of course headlined by quarterback Deshaun Watson as P.J. Walker will see the field for the third straight week. The other notable inactive is rookie wide receiver Cedric Tillman, who has been active in every game he has been healthy in.

This could be due to the need to bring up a practice squad offensive tackle in Ty Nsekhe. While Jedrick Wills is expected to start in this one, the Browns have added another offensive lineman to their gameday roster for added security.

Here is the full list of inactive players dropped by the Browns 90 minutes before kickoff. Can they grind out another tough win and advance to 5-2 on the season?
