Saints get pass-rush help, juice up their offense in 3-round mock draft

The Saints reinforced their defensive line and juiced up their offense in a new 3-round mock draft, adding fan-favorite Tulane RB Tyjae Spears:

It doesn’t appear the New Orleans Saints are going to wait until the 2023 NFL draft to address their quarterback situation — whether they’re going to sign a veteran in free agency or trade for a new starter, it’s not something they’ll be putting off until April. So where could they go in this year’s draft if that item is crossed off their to-do list early on?

Here’s a take from NFL.com’s Chad Reuter, who put together a three-round mock draft which has the Saints reinforcing their defensive line and juicing up their offense. He also has them adding Tyjae Spears, which would keep the fan-favorite Tulane Green Wave running back in New Orleans. Let’s break down each of his picks:

Tonight’s East-West Shrine Bowl will be televised on NFL Network.

The 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl will be played at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders and this year’s Pro Bowl, on Thursday evening.

The East will face off against the West at 6:30 p.m. MT in a nationally-televised game on NFL Network. The college football all-star game will also be available to stream on fuboTV (try it free).

Last year, the Denver Broncos drafted three players who played in the East-West Shrine Bowl — two on defense and one on offense. The Broncos — and the league’s 31 other teams — are back in Las Vegas this year to scout prospects who are entering this year’s NFL draft.

10 players Broncos should scout at 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl

Here are 10 players Broncos fans should watch for at the East-West Shrine Bowl.

After the NFL season concludes with Super Bowl LVII. all eyes turn toward free agency and the NFL draft. Until the NFL combine, the last best chances teams have to evaluate collegiate talent in a competitive setting is the invitation-only East-West Shrine Bowl and the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

While new Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton begins building his coaching staff, general manager George Paton will be evaluating top-tier talent this week. Here’s a look at 10 players the team should be keeping an eye on at the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl.

Broncos found talent at last year’s East-West Shrine Bowl

The Broncos drafted three players who appeared in last year’s East-West Shrine Bowl.

The East-West Shrine Bowl is not college football’s biggest all-star game, but talent can be found in Las Vegas. Just ask the San Francisco 49ers, who selected quarterback Brock Purdy with the final pick in the 2022 NFL draft after he helped the West defeat the East 25-24 in last year’s Shrine Bowl.

The Denver Broncos also came away from last year’s draft with three players who played in the Shrine Bowl — two defensive linemen and one offensive lineman.

The Broncos used a fourth-round pick to select Iowa State DL Eyioma Uwazurike (East), a fifth-round pick to select Washington OL Luke Wattenberg (West) and a seventh-round pick to select Wisconsin DL Matt Henningsen (East) last April.

The 2021 East-West Shrine Bowl was canceled because of COVID-19, but Denver added five players from the 2020 edition: DL McTelvin Agim, OLB Derrek Tuszka, RB LeVante Bellamy, CB Parnell Motley and OL Darrin Paulo.

The Broncos will now look to find more talent at this year’s all-star game. The East-West Shrine Bowl will be nationally televised at 6:30 p.m. MT on NFL Network on Thursday evening.

The 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl takes place on Thursday, February 2 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as some of the nation’s top players will showcase their talents ahead of the NFL draft.

Marquice Williams, the special teams coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons, is set to coach the East team, but there are good players on both rosters worth keeping an eye on Thursday night.

Here are 20 players to watch at the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl.

Key NFL offseason dates Broncos fans should know in 2023

Here are the NFL’s key 2023 offseason dates that Broncos fans should know.

The NFL still has one more game to be played — the biggest game of the season — but for the Denver Broncos and 29 other teams, the 2023 offseason has already begun.

Here are the upcoming key dates that Broncos fans should have circled on their calendars for the 2023 NFL offseason.

Wide receiver, defensive back standouts from East-West Shrine Bowl: Day 2

A look at the wide receivers and defensive backs that stood out on Day 2 of the East-West Shrine Bowl.

The second day of practices for the East and West teams at the Shrine Bowl wrapped up, and several players upgraded their stock with impressive performances.

Today, I observed the wide receiver and defensive backs. The Chargers are likely entering the market for a pass catcher that can stretch the field and has the speed to match quarterback Justin Herbert’s big arm.

Head coach Brandon Staley has also said in the past that his team can never have enough men in the secondary, and his versatile defense requires specific athletes and smart football minds.

Here is a look at four players who captured my curiosity on day two that could be a fit for the Chargers.
