Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec delivers hilarious Instagram after Shohei Ohtani plane saga

This is how you respond when you’re on the plane that everyone though Shohei Ohtani was on.

Robert Herjavec — the investor and businessman known to the world for starring on Shark Tank — must have had a good laugh when he landed in Toronto on Friday afternoon.

That’s because he was the person on a plane from California to the Canadian city that a lot of people thought contained Shohei Ohtani, who — it turned out — was not on his way to sign with the Blue Jays.

After so many jokes on X (formerly Twitter) about what it must have been like for the person on that plane, Herjavec sent out a perfect Instagram joking about the whole thing:

Well played, sir.

Who was on the flight Shohei Ohtani wasn’t? Per report, it was a celebrity and his family

The flight to Toronto may not have been carrying Shohei Ohtani, but there was reportedly a celebrity on board.

Rumors swirled on Friday afternoon of a possible impending signing between star free agent pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Fans fired up the flight trackers, and an early report indicated that Ohtani was en route to Toronto Pearson International Airport, presumably to sign with the Blue Jays.

However, subsequent reports indicated Ohtani was never on that flight and is still at his home in southern California. But while the most sought-after free agent in baseball may not have been on the flight, it was carrying a celebrity, at least reportedly.

Per a report from the CBC, Canadian businessman and Shark Tank star Robert Herjavec was on the flight with his family.

While his presence on the flight has not yet been confirmed, it adds yet another bizarre layer to a story that took over the internet on Friday as we await a decision from Ohtani, a two-time American League MVP.

Cleveland Browns linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. is known for his heady play on the gridiron but leveraged his one-of-a-kind mind to serve as a judge in a local small business showcase in the Sixth City.

The “Shark Tank” style event drew in entrepreneurs from across Northeast Ohio and was sponsored by Cleveland-based consulting firm Jumpstart, which helps small businesses get off the ground by providing capital and resources to high-potential startups.

“I think I was more nervous than everyone that presented,” Walker said of the experience. “It’s another opportunity to be a part of the community, and being here, I can learn something myself. I have my own business where it could possibly help me, and to have this opportunity is very unique. I always loved watching ‘Shark Tank,’ so this is a great opportunity for (the business owners).”

Each of the participants who pitched to Walker and the panel of judges was awarded $2,500 for their efforts, and the winner of the event took home $10,000 to help start their business endeavors.

Maria Sharapova zings fellow shark Kevin O’Leary in her guest appearance on ‘Shark Tank’

A funny moment with the man known as Mr. Wonderful.

Maria Sharapova retired on Wednesday at the age of 32, but it looks like she’s got plenty on her plate after tennis.

Up first: a guest appearance on Shark Tank as a shark, a reminder she started her own candy brand years ago, Sugarpova and has invested her money in other properties.

In this exclusive preview clip from Friday’s new episode starring the recently retired star, a company called Bala Bangles — weights you can wear that also look stylish — Sharapova turns to fellow shark Kevin O’Leary (AKA Mr. Wonderful) and asks him, “When was the last time you worked out?” Zing! He replies he was up at 4:30 a.m. that morning.

It looks like Sharapova ended up making an offer, but paired with which shark or sharks? There’s some drama!
