Vikings sign CB Shaquill Griffin to one-year contract

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a one-year deal with cornerback Shaquill Griffin for up to $6 million

The Minnesota Vikings have made another depth signing on the defensive side of the football. According to Bleacher Report’s Justin Schultz, the Vikings have signed cornerback Shaquill Griffin to a one-year contract worth up to $6 million.

The Vikings needed to add some depth to the cornerback room, and Griffin fits the bill. He played with the Houston Texans for 10 games in the 2023 season before being released. The Carolina Panthers then picked him up, and he played in three of a possible six games for them.

The structure of the deal will be important here as it could impact the compensatory pick formula for the 2025 NFL draft if it ends up too high. Right now, the Vikings are projected to get two third-round compensatory picks.

Griffin is a former third-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks who spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
