Sevilla vs. Barcelona odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Sevilla vs. Barcelona odds and lines, with La Liga picks and predictions.

Sevilla (0 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw) will welcome Barcelona (2-0-1) to Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Sevilla vs. Barcelona odds and lines, and make our best La Liga bets, picks and predictions.

Sevilla will enter this match tied for 15th with 5 other clubs, all with just 1 point on the season. Only Cadiz has yet to earn a point in 3 matches. Sevilla has scored 3 goals and allowed 5.

Considering they finished 4th in the league last season, this has been a massively disappointing start. Sevilla has a 3-way tie for their scoring leader, but only 1 forward (Rafa Mir) has netted a goal so far.

As for Barcelona, they made the most notable addition of any club in La Liga, bringing in Bayern Munich F Robert Lewandowski, who has 4 goals in 3 matches.

Despite having 1.2 more expected goals, Barcelona opened their season with a 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano. They’ve outscored their opponents 8-1 since then and is tied for 3rd.

Prediction

Barcelona 3, Sevilla 1

Money line (ML)

BET BARCELONA (-127).

There’s not much reason to believe in Sevilla at this point.

For that reason, I’ll side with Barcelona. For starters, after that opening draw, they destroyed Real Sociedad which finished within the top-8 teams in La Liga last season. And that was on the road.

Sevilla, on the other hand, has struggled and has had fewer expected goals in 2 of their 3 matches this season. They have only scored 1 in each while Barcelona has averaged 4 in their last 2.

Barcelona has experience in the midfield with M Serio Busquets and a star between the posts in GK Marc-André ter Stegen. Given their speed and skill all over the field, they should come away with a win.

Barcelona is 1-0-0 on the road this season while Sevilla is 0-0-1 at home. Also, Sevilla has just 11 shots on target in 3 games, a concerning lack of offensive production.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN OVER 2.5 (-130).

Both teams have gone over this in 2 of 3 games, and Sevilla is struggling to defend, having allowed 5 goals in 3 matches.

If they can’t contain some of the lower-tier teams in the league, there’s not much hope that they can tame the mighty Barcelona attack.

Last season, both of their matches went under this total, but performances from last season have little telling for what will happen Saturday, especially given the form each side is in.

Barcelona has scored at least 4 goals in each of their last 2 games and has 21 shots on goal in 3 games. If they again total 7, there’s a good chance 2 or 3 find the back of the net.
