The Seton Hall Pirates (18-10, 11-6 Big East) are hoping to pull off an upset once again as they take on the No. 3 UConn Huskies (25-3, 15-2 Big East) Sunday in Storrs. Tip-off at Gampel Pavilion is set for noon ET (CBS). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Seton Hall vs. UConn odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.
The Pirates handed the Huskies one of their 3 losses this season on Dec. 20 in Newark 75-60, winning outright as an 8-point home dog. The Hall had an 18-0 advantage in fast-break points, and the 17 turnovers committed by UConn was a season high. Senior G Kadary Richmond recorded a season-high 8 steals in the win, and only Butler’s Posh Alexander averages more steals per game (2.2) than Richmond (2.0).
Seton Hall is firmly on the bubble, and bracketologist Joe Lunardi has them as a last 4 in team entering Sunday. The Pirates were worked by No. 12 Creighton 85-64 last Wednesday, but Bluejays coach Doug McDermott firmly believes the Hall is a tournament team.
UConn also recently lost by 19 points to Creighton, falling 85-66 on Feb. 20 in Omaha. Bobby Hurley’s group bounced back last Saturday with a 24-point victory over Villanova. Senior G Cam Spencer tied a team-high with 25 points in the 78-54 win, going 5 of 8 from 3-point range.

Seton Hall at UConn picks and predictions
Prediction
UConn 71, Seton Hall 68
Moneyline
INCLUDE HUSKIES IN A ML (-1600) PARLAY.
Seton Hall pulled off the upset in the last meeting, but that was in their own building, plus UConn C Donovan Clingan left early in the 2nd half with a foot injury. Only Creighton’s Ryan Kalkbrenner averages more blocks per game (2.9) than Clingan (2.1), so expect Hall guards Richmond and Dre Davis to have difficulty attacking inside and getting any easy layups.
If a full-day Sunday sweat is your desire, a 4-leg moneyline parlay with UConn, Nebraska (-360 vs. Rutgers), Ohio State (-690 vs. Michigan) and Memphis (-350 vs. UAB) pays nearly even money.
Against the spread
SETON HALL +14.5 (-110).
That’s a lot of points for UConn to lay considering they lost to this Shaheen Holloway-coached Seton Hall team by 15 points in December. G Al-Amir Dawes has connected on half of 3-pointers attempted over his last 5 games (15 of 30), so expect the Pirates senior to be able to keep his team in it.

Over/Under
PASS.
The Huskies sport both the top scoring offense in the Big East (81.3 points per game) and the best scoring defense (64.1 points allowed) so it is difficult to back a particular side on the total. Also, despite the recent success of Daws from beyond the arc, the Hall still sits at the bottom of the conference in team 3-point percentage (31.4%).
