A season in review: Chris Moore

Take a look back at the best moments from Chris Moore’s junior season.

The Auburn Tigers ended the 2022-23 season with a loss in the NCAA Tournament, falling to Houston in the round of 32. As the program begins to transition to the offseason, Auburn Wire will take time to reflect on the season that was by highlighting the accomplishments of this year’s team.

Up next in our series is junior forward [autotag]Chris Moore[/autotag].

After playing in 25 games in each of his last two seasons, Moore saw an increase in his role. He started the first 16 games for the Tigers and appeared in 31 games as a key member of the bench.

He averaged just 3.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game but he shot an impressive 49.3% from the field and 40.9% from 3-point range. His hustle and defensive effort ensured that he made a bigger impact than the box score indicated and endeared him to Auburn fans.

The best game of his season came in a 72-56 win over Texas Southern when he scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He scored in double figures two more times in the season, scoring 12 points in a win against Washington and a loss to Memphis.

Check out the previous installments of our year-in-review series: Zep Jasper, Jaylin Williams, Allen Flanigan, K.D. Johnson, Wendell Green Jr., Tre Donaldson, and Johni Broome

Here is a look at the best moments from his junior season on the Plains:

Senior rewind: A look back at Allen Flanigan’s Auburn career

He has been a contributor since arriving on campus and has played in over 100 games as an Auburn Tiger.

As the 2022-23 regular season comes to a close, Auburn Wire will begin taking a look back at the careers of Auburn basketball’s senior class, and their accomplishments during their time on the Plains.

After starting out the series with Zep Jasper and Jaylin Williams, next up is [autotag]Allen Flanigan[/autotag].

Flanigan arrived in Auburn as a three-star small forward and immediately became a rotation payer for [autotag]Bruce Pearl[/autotag]. He appeared in all 31 games during the 2019-20 season and averaged 3.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 13.7 minutes per game.

He took a massive leap as a sophomore, he started all 27 games for the Tigers and led the team in scoring with 14.3 points per game. He also averaged 5.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 30.4 minutes per game.

Flanigan was named to the Coaches’ Preseason All-SEC First Team ahead of his junior season but his season was derailed by an Achilles injury that required surgery in September. While he still appeared in 22 games and made 20 starts he was still recovering and was not his full self. The Little Rock, Arkansas, native still managed to average 6.3 points and 3.5 rebounds.

Further removed from the injury, he has looked more like himself during his senior season, averaging 9.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in 31 games.

Here’s a look back at Allen Flanigan’s career as an Auburn Tiger.

Gameday odds for Auburn vs. Ole Miss

The Tigers need to pick up a win over the Ole Miss Rebels Wednesday in Neville Arena.

The Auburn Tigers are entering the final stretch of the season in desperate need of a win.

The Tigers (18-9, 8-6 SEC) dropped Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt 67-65, and have now lost six of their last eight games as they stumble to the end of the regular season. Thankfully they have familiarity with their next opponent. They beat the  Ole Miss Rebels 82-73 in Oxford earlier this season.

Another positive for the Tigers is that the game will be played inside Neville Arena, where they have played much better and are 12-2 on the season. With the game being at home the Tigers are favored to beat the Rebels by 12.5 points by Bet MGM.

Here is everything you need to know about the game before you place a bet.
