Uchenna Nwosu and Stone Forsythe have been ruled OUT for Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are relatively healthy going into their Week 13 showdown against the New York Jets. On Friday’s injury report, no players were listed as OUT or DOUBTFUL, with only two players designated as QUESTIONABLE – with one of them (tight end Brady Russell) a full participant at practice.

While the team had a pretty clean injury report, there was a slight amendment to the list. The Seahawks officially ruled OUT linebacker Uchenna Nwosu and right tackle Stone Forsythe. Both players officially returned to practice after stints on the injured reserve list. Nwosu not playing on Sunday is hardly a surprise, he was not expected to return immediately. Nwosu is an elite pass rusher when healthy, but sadly his body has not been kind to him these last two years with injuries. Hopefully, he can return for a late season playoff push.

As for Stone Forsythe, it will be good to get him back onto the active 53-man roster to help give depth to the right tackle position. Abe Lucas in his return has looked solid, but as the Seahawks have learned the last two seasons, there is no such thing as too much depth at right tackle.

Seahawks FS Quandre Diggs posts positive update on his leg injury

Thanks to his exceptional performance the last 2+ years Diggs should be first in line among the team’s pending free agents for a contract extension.

The worst moment of the cursed 2021 season for the Seahawks happened in the fourth quarter of their Week 18 win over the Cardinals. The victory was thrilling and cathartic but bittersweet, as free safety Quandre Diggs suffered a devastating leg injury – breaking his fibula and dislocating his ankle.

Diggs had been playing a dangerous, often thankless position at a high level for Seattle’s defense all year, earning himself a Pro Bowl nomination and a handful of All-Pro votes. Thanks to his exceptional performance the last 2+ years Diggs should be first in line among the team’s pending free agents for a contract extension.

Good news: it’s been roughly one month since his surgery and Diggs appears to be making progress.

Yesterday, Diggs tweeted that he got his cast off.

In just 38 games since the trade from Detroit, he has already totaled 13 interceptions, by far the most for the franchise during that time.

Truth is, the Seahawks should have never let him go this long without giving him a new deal in the first place. Diggs says he wants to stay but has to be fairly compensated.
