The next big position to fill on Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald’s staff is quarterbacks coach.

The next big position to fill on Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald’s staff is quarterbacks coach. We finally have some news to pass along on that front.

According to a report by Jonathan Jones at CBS Sports, today the team is interviewing Fred Walker for the position. He has previous experience with the Raiders as well as working with Dak Prescott at Mississippi State.

As for the quarterbacks on the roster, it’s up in the air right now as to who the QBs coach will actually get to work with. Macdonald told ESPN on Monday that the team is talking to both Geno Smith and Drew Lock. Meanwhile, the hiring of former Washington OC Ryan Grubb as offensive coordinator has supercharged speculation that the team intends to draft Huskies QB Michael Penix Jr.

In related news, the team made seven reported hirings for Macdonald’s staff official today. That includes assistant head coach Leslie Frazier, offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, defensive coordinator Aden Durde, special teams coordinator Jay Harbaugh, offensive line coach Scott Huff, inside linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti and defensive backs coach Karl Scott, who’s the only holdover from former head coach Pete Carroll’s staff.
