3-time Bulls champ hopes Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen ‘work it out’

Three-time Chicago Bulls champion Scott Williams wants to see Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen work things out amid their ongoing beef.

In the 1990s, the Chicago Bulls were on top of the world. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen led them to six championships in eight seasons. Just a few years ago, “The Last Dance” came out – a documentary detailing the 90s Bulls and, more specifically, their last season and last championship together.

However, since then, Pippen and Jordan have been publicly beefing, with Pippen doing most of the talking. He recently called Jordan “a horrible player.” During a recent chat with HoopsHype, Scott Williams, who was a part of the first three Bulls title teams, spoke about the pair’s ongoing feud.

He said that he hopes Jordan and Pippen can sit down and work things out at some point, but he has no plans on getting in the middle of it all.

“Yeah, it’s been sad for my heart to really see and listen to some of the things that have been going on with Scottie. I don’t hear much from Michael. On Michael’s side, he just seems to be quiet on it. But Scottie is really upset, and I don’t particularly know 100 percent all of it. I just try to stay in my lane and let those heavyweights battle those types of things out, but I hope that they find some time to pick up a phone or sit down together and work it out.”

Williams doesn’t fully understand why Pippen was so upset at the documentary.

“I get it as Michael Jordan financed the documentary, and I’m sure he stirred a little bit towards himself because of that, but he gave Pippen the ultimate compliment that he was my favorite teammate of all time, and without Scottie I don’t win the six championships,” said Williams. “So I don’t understand what more he really wanted from Michael that Michael didn’t give him that is considered a slight. That’s the hard part for me on that one.”

For now, it seems like Jordan’s and Pippen’s beef will continue.

Scott Williams might not be a name that immediately resonates with younger fans, despite his 15-year career in the NBA. However, he won three rings with the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls.

Williams recently authored a memoir, titled Through the Fire, detailing his life and career. His journey wasn’t devoid of tragic experiences. Amidst the highs of being a decorated athlete, he faced a devastating blow during his sophomore year at the University of North Carolina as his father shot and killed his mother, then turned the gun on himself.

Williams recently spoke with HoopsHype about his trials and tribulations, playing with one of the greatest players ever, and more.

It’s summertime in the NBA, so now is the time to learn some history. The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the older franchises in the NBA. Their history dates to the 1949-50 season.

With that longevity, the team has had hundreds of players come through the City of Brotherly Love. Sixers Wire looks at the No. 42, which has been worn by 12 of those players in the history of the franchise.

This running series that will go through all of the uniform numbers worn in franchise history. The previous edition of this series was a list compiling the four players who have worn the No. 43.

Here is the list of those 12 players who have worn No. 43 in Sixers history:

Top 5 worst free agent signings in the history of the Philadelphia 76ers

Here are the top 5 worst free-agent signings made in the long history of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Free agency is set to begin in the NBA on June 30 and now is the time to look back at some free-agent history for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Every team makes some type of move in free agency every season. When a team brings in a fresh face to the roster, it believes the signing will help push it over the top.

However, there are good signings and there are bad signings that do not work out at all, and the latter is what this post focuses on.

The list is based on money received combined with lack of impact and how results played out on the court during that player’s time in Philadelphia. Let’s get to the list:

Michael Jordan sends Scott Williams, friends UNC gear ahead of Final Four

UNC basketball legend Scott Williams hooks up a former teammate with Air Jordan gear ahead of Final Four trip.

It’s unknown if UNC legend [autotag]Michael Jordan[/autotag] will be in attendance for the Final Four this weekend in New Orleans but the legend is helping out a former Tar Heel and his friends.

[autotag]Scott Williams[/autotag] took to Twitter to reveal that Jordan hooked up him and a bunch of friends who are heading to the Final Four with UNC gear for the trip including a pair of the recently released Air Jordan 6 “UNC” shoe.

Included in the package was not only the UNC 6’s but also gear such as polos, shirts, sweaters, and a bag. Take a look below:

Williams played four years at UNC from 1986-90 before joining the Bulls after Jordan put in a request that he play Summer League ball with Chicago after going undrafted in 1990. Williams stuck on with Chicago, playing with the franchise for four years and winning four titles. So this isn’t the first time Jordan has looked out for Williams in his career.

Let’s hope Williams and his friends can bring the Tar Heels some good luck on Saturday.

Only four players were teammates with both LeBron and MJ. We spoke to all four about the GOATs

After winning yet another NBA championship, the conversations comparing LeBron James and Michael Jordan have only grown louder and louder.

After winning yet another NBA championship, the conversations comparing LeBron James and Michael Jordan have only grown louder and louder.

The people who would be most insightful in that regard would be the people who played alongside the greats and who were in the trenches with them. Those are the sources that could provide the best intel about the two legends because they saw firsthand how both of these guys moved and how they carried themselves on a daily basis.

Only four players in league history were teammates with both Jordan and James: Scott Williams, Larry Hughes, Jerry Stackhouse and Brendan Haywood. HoopsHype was able to connect with all four of them.

“I don’t think it would be fair to give a comparison on them,” Stackhouse, who only played seven games with James in 2010, told HoopsHype. “I played with LeBron at the prime of his career and I played with Michael in the last year of his career. I just think both are unbelievable players. They’re probably one and two in the history of the game. That’s where I’ll leave it.”

Williams, Hughes and Haywood all re-lived some of their fondest basketball memories, recounting the experiences they had while on the same rosters as both MJ and King James.
