AEW Dynamite preview 12/20/23: Going long for Holiday Bash

Along with 3 Continental Classic matches, AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash will feature Riho vs. Saraya for a shot at the world championship.

You know what’s fun? The idea that a wrestling show is bursting at the seams with good stuff that it needs to be longer than usual. That appears to be the case with tonight’s AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash from Oklahoma City, which Tony Khan has already said was granted a five-minute overrun from TBS. Let’s see why it might be needed.

Can Mox, Switchblade or Swerve take control in the Continental Classic Gold League?

We’re getting down to the nitty gritty in the AEW Continental Classic, with the final matches in the Gold League taking place tonight. Jon Moxley is the leader with 12 points, having won every match so far. But he’s not quite guaranteed to finish first in the group, because his opponent tonight, Jay White, can draw even with him if victorious.

There’s drama in one of the other Gold League matches as well, because while Swerve Strickland is in good shape with nine points, Rush can draw even with him at nine by defeating him in OKC. It’s going to be an interesting finish to this group to see who will advance to the semifinals on next week’s episode of Dynamite.

(Oh, and Jay Lethal and Mark Briscoe are facing off as well, but pretty much just for the love of the game since both are winless so far.)

Who will earn a title shot against “Timeless” Toni Storm at Worlds End?

We already know Toni Storm will be defending her title at Worlds Ends on Dec. 30, but what still needs to be figured out is who her opponent will be. Dynamite will settle that with a match between Saraya and Riho.

Both wrestlers have held the AEW Women’s World Championship before, and while Riho feels like a fresher matchup for Storm, there’s more narrative history between Saraya and Toni given their time together as Outcasts. This is a legit pick ’em, which is the best kind of No. 1 contenders bout.

Will the Devil show his (her? its?) hand one last time in 2023?

MJF and Samoa Joe are on a collision course for Worlds End, which is stressful enough. But Joe also promised to keep the world champ in one piece until the pay-per-view, and the Devil and his goons have made that a more difficult prospect than he might have figured.

We’ll hear from both champion and challenger tonight, but it would be shocking indeed if the Devil let them both be just 10 days away from the PPV.

Also on tap for AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash:

  • Roderick Strong takes on Komander

We’re properly stoked for this extra long episode of AEW Dynamite and will have full coverage of Holiday Bash later tonight.

AEW Rampage results 12/15/23: Trios, tag teams in action on Winter is Coming

The Von Erichs were along the highlights of this week’s AEW Rampage.

Man, it’s been a bummer of a day for AEW with the news that Kenny Omega will be out indefinitely. Somewhere, Tony Khan is cursing his luck, or the fact that he appears to have jinxed himself after talking earlier in the year about how the company’s injury luck was better in 2023.

You know what might cheer him, and also us, up? Some AEW Rampage, that’s what. With the show taped in Texas, it’s only right that some Von Erichs are part of it, teaming with Orange Cassidy. There are also several tag team matches on tap, as well as Anna Jay in singles action.

Yeah, this should help us feel better. On to the results and such.

AEW Rampage results:

  • Orange Cassidy and The Von Erichs def. Angelo Parker, Matt Menard and Jake Hager by pinfall, and Kevin Von Erich and Danhausen help prevent a post-match beating, with Kevin giving Hager a lengthy Iron Claw; Cassidy puts his sunglasses on the eldest Von Erich during their celebration
  • Mark Briscoe says “fighting’s what I do, dammit” when asked what he still has to fight for in the Continental Classic and says this is like his rookie season as a singles wrestler; he and Jay Lethal say they’ll battle each other for honor next week and shake hands
  • The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher and Powerhouse Hobbs) def. Hunter Grey and Paul Titan by pinfall in a squash match; afterward, Callis gets some mic time and threatens The Golden Jets, saying that under The Don Callis Rules, any two members of the Family can take on Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega at any time
  • Ruby Soho reflects on taking another loss while being pulled in so many directions, and she doesn’t take kindly to Saraya trying to give her some tough love
  • Anna Jay def. Red Velvet by submission, due in part to, or perhaps in spite of, a distraction by Menard
  • A replay of the Devil’s latest attack from Dynamite is shown, this time targeting Hangman Adam Page
  • Top Flight and Action Andretti def. El Hijo del Vikingo, Komander and Penta El Zero Miedo by pinfall

AEW Collision results 12/9/23: Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson in action

AEW Collision also saw Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston renew their heated rivalry in the Continental Classic.

AEW Collision has been a little up and down this fall after a certain you know who got bounced from the company. Some shows have been pretty star-studded, while others have felt like Dynamite-lite (hey, that rhymes). Happily, this feels like one of the former even though it’s a pre-recorded show that went down earlier this week in Montreal.

For starters, there’s a tremendous grudge match between Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston, with some high stakes as it’s part of the Continental Classic. Bryan Danielson and Andrade El Idolo will also face off in a tournament match of their own.

And hey, why go to Canada without a match between two guys trying to prove they are the best from the North? Kenny Omega and Ethan Page will do that tonight as well.

We’re assuming you haven’t read any spoilers if you’re reading this, and we haven’t either, so let’s see what this night holds on TNT.

AEW Collision results from Montreal:

  • Eddie Kingston def. Claudio Castagnoli by pinfall in a Continental Classic Blue League match, staying mathematically alive to advance from the group with his first three points
  • We hear from Jon Moxley after his tournament victory over Rush, and he ponders whether Swerve Strickland is willing to do what it takes to stay at the top of the business
  • Hook’s interview with Renee Paquette is crashed by Wheeler Yuta, who Hook dismisses as someone who “kicked Shibata in the balls,” and the two men agree to fight under FTW rules
  • Willow Nightingale def. Mercedes Martinez by pinfall, then gets attacked by Martinez and Diamante after the bell until
  • Jake Hager is upset that Danhausen stick his beloved hat down his pants, but Matt Menard and Angelo Parker are fired up by being in Montreal; meanwhile, Saraya and Menard are still trying to keep Ruby Soho apart from Parker
  • Swerve Strickland cuts his Continental Classic promo and calls himself the leader of the whole company
  • Wardlow def. Willie Mack by referee stoppage in a match that included one ridiculous show of strength with Wardlow catching Mack in midair and powerbombing him
  • Malakai Black and the House repeat their assertion that FTR should have joined them
  • Kenny Omega def. Ethan Page by pinfall; the two wrestlers show each other respect after the match, but Big Bill lays Omega out with a big boot and Page is too beaten up to hustle over to retaliate
  • CJ Perry talks up Andrade’s resume and his chances of winning tonight, but she’s not thrilled about Miro’s attempt to force her into a traditional wife role
  • Julia Hart says she can see behind masks but can’t quite figure out Abadon
  • Penta El Zero Miedo and Komander def. Cool Hand Ang and Daddy Magic despite the fans being very behind the hometown duo
  • Keith Lee and Shane Taylor have a face to face exchange of pleasantries ahead of their meeting at Final Battle
  • Another Continental Classic promo shows everyone who wrestled this week on Dynamite
  • Andrade El Idolo def. Bryan Danielson by pinfall in a Continental Classic Blue League match, then joins the medical personnel in checking on a bloody Danielson afterward only to be run off by Castagnoli and Yuta

AEW Rampage results 12/1/23: Danhausen back in action, Statlander and Blue find common ground

Danhausen back in the ring and some unexpected teamwork were highlights of this week’s AEW Rampage.

It’s Friday night, and you know what that means!

Well, most Fridays, anyway. AEW Rampage shifted to Saturday last week for reasons, but is back in its familiar night and time this week. What are we looking at? Men’s and women’s trios matches, for starters, including what should be an incredible lucha-flavored showdown.

Let’s cross body our way into the action.

AEW Rampage results:

  • Orange Cassidy, Hook, Danhausen and Trent Beretta def. The Dark Order (Evil Uno and Alex Reynolds), Matt Menard and Angelo Parker by pinfall, with Wheeler Yuta joining the announcers midway through the match and not too pleased with the outcome
  • Renee Paquette joins Saraya, Ruby Soho and Anna Jay, and Anna tells Angelo Parker he can’t go to the ring with her, plus Saraya still doesn’t want him seeing Ruby

  • Sting and Ric Flair join Tony Schiavone in the ring to walk down memory lane

  • Paquette talks to Kris Statlander, Hikaru Shida and Skye Blue, with Shida forced to play peacekeeper between the other two and cheerleader as well ahead of tonight’s trios match
  • The Don Callis Family (Powerhouse Hobbs, Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher) def. local talent in a quick squash match, and Callis taunts the Golden Jets afterward
  • Prince Nana and Brian Cage talk about the Mogul Embassy being on a roll, and Nana tells The WorkHorsemen they have a chance to impress them tonight and possibly earn spots on the team
  • Kris Statlander, Hikaru Shida and Skye Blue def. The Outcasts (Saraya and Ruby Soho) and Anna Jay by pinfall, with Blue getting the pin after some surprisingly good teamwork with Statlander
  • A replay is shown of this week’s Continental Classic matches from Dynamite, and tomorrow night’s tourney matches on Collision are promoted
  • Penta El Zero Miedo, El Hijo del Vikingo and Komander def. The WorkHorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry) and Brian Cage by pinfall, due in large part to Cage walking out on his teammates after accidentally being hit by a Henry kick

AEW Collision results 11/17/23: Final pieces fall in place for Full Gear

A special Friday episode of AEW Collision finalized some more stipulations and matches for Full Gear.

Saturday night may be alright for fighting, but when Full Gear takes up that night, AEW Collision has to try to prove that Friday is fine for fighting as well. It’s actually going to be a very full Friday, with Collision followed by Rampage and then an ROH taping.

But we care about Collision for now, where there will be several matches with potential Full Gear repercussions and another where someone will earn a TNT Championship shot … for later tonight on Rampage. We told you, there’s a lot of wrestling coming up.

With that in mind, let’s not waste any more time, we’re diving in.

AEW Collision results from Inglewood:

  • Tony Schiavone reluctantly holds the mic for Christian Cage, who claims Full Gear will be Sting’s last match ever and says he’s going to break Adam Copeland’s neck
  • Big Bill and Ricky Starks tell Lexy Nair that they’ve asked for and been granted the request to make the four-way tag team title match at Full Gear a Ladder match
  • Miro def. Daniel Garcia by submission, with Daddy Magic taking an accidental bump from Garcia after trying to stop Daniel from dancing during the match
  • Andrade El Idolo is happy to have CJ Perry as a manager, and they reveal that he’s entered into the Continental Classic
  • Kings of the Black Throne (Brody King and Malakai Black) def. The Boys by pinfall
  • A vignette promotes the three-way TBS Championship match at Full Gear
  • Trent Beretta def. Brian Cage. Komander and Penta El Zero Miedo to win a TNT Championship shot at Christian Cage later tonight on Rampage
  • Don Callis and Powerhouse Hobbs talk up what Hobbs did to Paul Wight and say that proves “anyone can get it”
  • Wardlow def. Evan Daniels by referee stoppage in a matter of about a minute
  • Dax Harwood vs. Rush ends in no contest as Starks and Big Bill attack both men during the match, eventually leading to all four teams from the Full Gear title match plus some others getting involved in a huge brawl that takes the efforts of many to break up
  • Nair talks to Action Andretti, who ends up the next “victim” for Roderick Strong
  • Buddy Matthews def. Wheeler Yuta by pinfall, but Claudio Castagnoli prevents Matthews from beating Yuta more after the bell and challenges Buddy to a match at Full Gear
  • Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy offer their final thoughts before they collide again on Saturday night
  • Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida def. Ruby Soho and Saraya by pinfall, thanks in part to Angelo Parker checking on Soho during the match and taking Saraya off her game
  • MJF sits down with Schiavone to discuss his two title matches at Full Gear, and he explains that he will retain the ROH Tag Team Championship because of the promise he made to Adam Cole while also promising to teach Jay White a lesson

AEW Rampage results 11/10/23: Love in the air in Oakland?

OK it was a lot of fists and pinfalls as well, but also a romance subplot on this episode of AEW Rampage.

This is like Bizarro AEW this Friday night. Why? Because Rampage is live and Collision will be taped right after it. See? Bizarro!

But that also means the crowd at the Oakland Arena should be hit for this edition of Rampage, because they’re seeing it fresh instead of after two hours of Dynamite. That’s something and can only help what we’re about to watch.

Let’s see how this live hour plays out.

AEW Rampage results from Oakland:

  • Ricky Starks def. Preston Vance by pinfall with just a tiny bit of help from tag team partner Big Bill, who was on guest commentary; afterward, Rush and Dralistico hustle down to save their teammate
  • Chris Jericho calls out Konosuke Takeshita ahead of their match in DDT Pro this weekend in Japan, vowing to get his revenge
  • Don Callis and Prince Nana say they’ve made a deal to have Brian Cage fight alongside Callis’ Family (since Sammy Guevara still isn’t cleared) next week on Dynamite for the Street Fight
  • Jeff Jarrett takes exception to questions about when Jay Lethal will get his ROH World Championship shot, and Lethal brags about beating Eddie Kingston; Ortiz stops by and proves unafraid of the odds, smacking Lethal and getting saved from certain ruin by a gaggle of refs and officials
  • Red Velvet def. Ruby soho by pinfall after Ruby gets distracted by flowers being delivered to her during the match (no, really)
  • Roderick Strong comes out with The Kingdom, insulting Oakland and saying he wants to dedicate the upcoming match to his best friend, Adam Cole
  • The Kingdom def. Los Suavecitos by pinfall with their new finisher, The Neck Check, and Strong “miraculously” gets out of his wheelchair to hit a Backstabber afterward
  • Daniel Garcia says he’s sick of being sad, and to cheer himself up, he wanted to challenge someone he has respect for, and he’s decided on Andrade; Soho and Saraya stop by and get into it with Angelo Parker and Matt Menard, and while it seems like Ruby and Angelo are hitting it off, their partner seem to want to keep them apart
  • Action Andretti and Darius Martin confront The Kingdom, but Strong says Martin will be “his first victim”
  • FTR def. Komander and El Hijo del Vikingo by pinfall, and the two team show each other respect afterward … but then the lights go out and the House of Black gives them mock applause on the big screen

AEW Rampage results 11/3/23: Someone else is gunning for MJF

MJF has enough problems, but he may just have had another one find him on AEW Rampage.

It’s hard to feel too bad for MJF. He’s been AEW World Champion for a while now, has had some great matches this year, and even found true friendship thanks to Adam Cole.

But man, everyone wants what he has right now. His challengers are multiplying on what feels like a daily pace, so it should probably come as no shock if we said that someone else wants a shot at the Triple B.

Who, you say? Read on and all will become clear.

AEW Rampage results:

  • Penta El Zero Miedo def. Komander and El Hijo del Vikingo by pinning Komander
  • Sonjay Dutt explains why he extended an invitation to Ortiz to join his stable, but the members of that stable say they won’t need his insight for Jay Lethal to defeat Eddie Kingston and become the next ROH World Champion; Ortiz stops by and says he knows people were talking about him and he’d deal with them next week
  • The Gunns def. Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal by pinfall
  • RJ City tries to do the big return of Danhausen, but learns it’s actually next week

  • Saraya tries to reassure Ruby Soho that they’ll be fine without Toni Storm but does it in a very condescending way, and Ruby is still playing hard to get with Angelo Parker; speaking of Cool Hand Ang, Daddy Magic is upset with his partner for not hitting Chris Jericho with a bat but he says he’s going to be a friend for Daniel Garcia

  • Skye Blue def. Marina Shafir by pinfall
  • Darby Allin cuts a promo ahead of his matchup with Lance Archer on Collision, who gives it right back to Darby
  • Daniel Garcia def. Trent Beretta by submission, then gets on the mic to call out the biggest possible star, MJF, saying that even though there’s a lot of people gunning for him, none of them are as hungry as Garcia

AEW Rampage results 10/20/23: Mistico comes calling

Get full results for the Oct. 20, 2023 episode of AEW Rampage, featuring Mistico making his AEW debut.

Think AEW can’t bring in anyone else to help move tickets? Think again.

With tonight’s show (which also included this week’s episode of Dynamite) needing some late sales, Tony Khan wisely added Mistico to the card. And in the Houston area, he’s a very big deal. And it seems to have set up an ongoing working relationship between AEW and CMLL, which would be interesting.

Even better, he’s going up against Rocky Romero, who is a face in New Japan but is a noted heel in Mexico. So this should be fun.

Let’s see how this hour of Rampage went down.

AEW Rampage results:

  • Mistico def. Rocky Romero, 2 falls to 1
  • Jay Lethal makes his case for a title shot against Eddie Kingston, saying he and his teammates know the real Eddie and he doesn’t care about the ROH World Championship; they eventually land on Jeff Jarrett facing Kingston on Collision to earn Lethal a title shot if Jarrett wins, but Kingston is not happy about them mentioning Homicide during this segment
  • John Silver def. Kip Sabian and Brother Zay to win an International Championship shot against Orange Cassidy at Battle of the Belts VIII on Saturday night
  • Things are still tense between Mike Santana and Ortiz and pretty obviously headed for a fight — at Dynamite in Philadelphia next week, as it turns out
  • Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta def. Bryan Keith and Exodus Prime by pinfall
  • Renee Paquette tries to get to the bottom of the tension between the former members of the Jericho Appreciation Society, and Jake Hager finally tries to squash things between Matt Menard and Daniel Garcia: “I didn’t give up my hat for this!” … and it looks like it’s squashed
  • Hangman Adam Page and the Young Bucks say they haven’t forgotten that they are the ROH trios champs and want to defend their titles on the next Dynamite before berating Brandon Cutler for the umpteenth time
  • Ruby Soho def. Skye Blue by pinfall after Saraya gets in a shot or two with the spray can from the floor; after the bell, The Outcasts stomp away on Blue, who gets (perhaps unwanted help) from Kris Statlander

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday results 10/10/23: New champs, overlapping feuds on super-sized show

See who won titles on AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday, and if Adam Copeland won his AEW in-ring debut.

It’s not that often that Tuesday night is the night for a big pro wrestling showdown. Monday night, sure, as they were the stuff of legend once upon a time. More recently it was Wednesday nights where a young AEW Dynamite and WWE’s NXT were on against each other, but that ended when NXT departed for Tuesdays. Alas, Dynamite was bumped up to Tuesday this week by the MLB Playoffs, putting them in direct competition for again one week only.

Happily, both companies took this very calmly and are proceeding like it’s business as usual.

Wait, what’s that? You say this is pro wrestling so they actually did the exact opposite of that?

That tracks. We’re here to talk about the AEW Dynamite part of this equation, which Tony Khan and company have dubbed Title Tuesday or Title Fight Tuesday depending on which X post we’re talking about. There are championship matches, sure. Saraya vs. Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship for one. Rey Fenix vs. Jon Moxley for the AEW International Championship for another.

But there’s more, including the AEW in-ring debut of Adam Copeland, the artist formerly known as Edge. Plus the first 30 minutes will be sans commercials, and Khan says he’s secured an overrun as well.

And if all of that wasn’t enough, there’s even a Buy-In pre-show like this was a pay-per-view, and no big deal, it just has Eddie Kingston vs. Minoru Suzuki. Damn.

With that in mind, let’s get into some live updates, shall we?

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday Buy-In results:

  • Renee Paquette and RJ City run down the full Title Tuesday card
  • Eddie Kingston def. Minoru Suzuki by pinfall to retain the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship and ROH World Championship Championship; after the bell, they exchange a few extra chops as a show of respect
  • Tony Khan provides an update: Jon Moxley is not cleared by AEW doctors, but Rey Fenix will still defend his International Championship tonight; Hook stops by and says it has to be Orange Cassidy since he never got a rematch, and he accepts in typically unenthusiastic fashion

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday results from Independence:

(please scroll down for more details on any match or segment in bold)

  • Christian Cage has a message for Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland, and also says Luchasaurus will end things for Adam Copeland; he also says he got the first 20 minutes commercial-free, heh
  • Bryan Danielson def. Swerve Strickland by pinfall to earn a TNT Championship shot at Collision after Hangman Adam Page prevents the use of Prince Nana’s crown as a weapon
  • Samoa Joe says he is about to show why he’s on the way to becoming AEW World Champion as well, starting this Saturday on Collision
  • Powerhouse Hobbs def. Chris Jericho by pinfall
  • Roderick Strong still has Adam Cole around, delaying his surgery and such
  • Orange Cassidy def. Rey Fenix by pinfall to become the new AEW International Champion, his second reign with the title
  • “Timeless” Toni Storm tells RJ City she has a new film called “Lover’s Lament,” which is a silent picture that plays during a side-by-side commercial break
  • Wardlow def. Matt Sydal by pinfall
  • Paquette tries to get a medical update on Jericho, and Matt Menard gets upset at Daniel Garcia for trying to check on The Ocho too
  • Jay White def. Hangman Adam Page by pinfall, thanks in part to Prince Nana’s attempted interference
  • MJF comes out to the stage to demand his world title belt back, and the crowd chants something obscene at White; MJF says he’s trying to be a better man even though it’s hard and explains why the title means so much to him, challenging White to do the right thing too — which doesn’t go well, with White saying they can do an eight-man tag team match and Juice Robinson saying he’s about to win the Dynamite Diamond Ring next week
  • Hikaru Shida def. Saraya by pinfall to become the new AEW Women’s World Champion, beginning her third title reign
  • Paquette catches up with MJF, who says politely that he isn’t in the mood to be interviewed and just wants to call Adam Cole for advice; he actually gets through to Cole, but the connection sucks and the call is cut off, but at least The Acclaimed offers to be his tag team partners …
  • … also, Daddy Ass and Anthony Bowens want to know why Max Caster is so infatuated with MJF, and Max says they’re friends — and that he likes when Max plays hard to get
  • Cage comes to the ring with Luchasaurus and mocks Adam Copeland, specifically his time with The Judgment Day and their time together in the past, saying Copeland needs him but he doesn’t need Adam; he also tells Copeland’s daughters their new father is coming home, and when Copeland sprints to the ring, Nick Wayne follows him and lays him out from behind; the ref checks on Adam but a match is underway
  • Adam Copeland def. Luchasaurus by pinfall …
  • … and gets attacked after the bell, setting off a wild brawl that involves Cage and his henchmen, Swerve Strickland and the Mogul Embassy, the Blackpool Combat Club and Hangman; the final shot sees Cage tapping out symbolically to Danielson’s LeBell Lock

AEW Dynamite preview 10/10/23: Title Tuesday will start early, run long

AEW is loading up its special Title Tuesday Dynamite, which will even have its own Buy-In pre-show.

[anyclip-media thumbnail=”https://cdn5.anyclip.com/Akvt4IoBLH5_irLub9rq/1695990893593_248x140_thumbnail.jpg” playlistId=”undefined” content=”PHNjcmlwdCBzcmM9Imh0dHBzOi8vcGxheWVyLnBvcHRvay5jb20vYW55Y2xpcC13aWRnZXQvbHJlLXdpZGdldC9wcm9kL3YxL3NyYy9scmUuanMiIGRhdGEtYXI9IjE2OjkiIGRhdGEtcGxpZD0iaWZ2eG01YnVqZnh1ZXRjaWd2cHdzNHNtb3ZyZHM0dHIiIHB1Ym5hbWU9IjE5OTgiIHdpZGdldG5hbWU9IjAwMTZNMDAwMDJVMEIxa1FBRl9NODMzMCI+Cjwvc2NyaXB0Pg==”][/anyclip-media]

Tuesday is generally one of the calmer nights of any given week in pro wrestling, but that’s definitely not the case for tonight. As a result, AEW is loading up a special Tuesday night episode of Dynamite that is not just themed as Title Tuesday but also will have its own Buy-In pre-show, feature 30 minutes without commercials and reportedly have an overrun as well.

Why all the fuss? Well, once it became clear that Dynamite would have to switch nights this week due to the MLB Playoffs on TBS, it left the show head to head with WWE’s NXT — and at the exact same time as well. WWE spent several weeks reinforcing its broadcast with stars of the past (The Undertaker?!?) and present, to which AEW did the only sensible thing: It started loading up Dynamite too.

The result should be a show fans won’t want to miss, which we suppose is the point. It will start with the Buy-In, a 30-minute pre-show on YouTube and social media that features Eddie Kingston defending both his ROH and NJPW Strong championships against the legendary Minoru Suzuki. Yes, on the pre-show.

Once the broadcast begins in earnest on TBS, there’s a whole mess of goodness on the way, beginning with the first 30 minutes commercial-free. It may include the in-ring AEW debut of Adam Copeland as he takes on Luchasaurus. Or the first part of the show could be where we see Powerhouse Hobbs battle Chris Jericho, or Jay White vs. Hangman Adam Page for the first time since their NJPW days, or perhaps a TNT Championship No. 1 contenders match pitting Swerve Strickland against Bryan Danielson.

And since the show is dubbed Title Tuesday, it has to have championship matches — two, as it turns out. One will see Saraya put the AEW Women’s World Championship on the line against former champ Hikaru Shida. The other will be the third meeting between Rey Fenix and Jon Moxley as the latter tries to reclaim the AEW International Championship from the former.

That already sounds like a lot, but AEW is also promoting appearances from world champion MJF and “Timeless” Toni Storm, which might be why there are reports that Tony Khan has secured an overrun for Dynamite from TBS. The Buy-In begins at 7:30 p.m. ET with the show following at 8 p.m., so be sure to either be watching, set your DVR or join us here at Wrestling Junkie for what sounds like a wild ride on Title Tuesday.
