The San Antonio Spurs (18-58) and New Orleans Pelicans (45-31) meet Friday with tip-off from Smoothie King Center set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Spurs vs. Pelicans odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: New Orleans leads 3-0

San Antonio Spurs lost 110-105 to the Denver Nuggets Tuesday, covering as a 15.5-point road underdog. The Spurs outrebounded Denver 59-52, but were not able to overcome C Nikola Jokic and his 42 points and 16 rebounds. San Antonio has lost back-to-back games after winning 3 straight, but is 5-0 against the spread (ATS) in its last 5 games.

New Orleans was beaten 117-108 by the Orlando Magic Wednesday while failing to cover as a 4.5-point home favorite. G CJ McCollum scored 36 points, but that wasn’t enough to overcome the Magic shooting 51.2% from the field and 40.6% from long range. The Pelicans have lost 3 consecutive games straight up and ATS.

Spurs at Pelicans picks and predictions

Prediction

Pelicans 110, Spurs 107

Moneyline

PASS.

The Pelicans (-750) should pick up the win, but they are not worth the risk of betting on as such heavy favorites. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

LEAN SPURS +11.5 (-110).

San Antonio has covered the spread in each of its last 5 games and is 7-2 ATS in its last 9 outings. New Orleans has failed to cover the spread in each of its last 3 games and is only 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games. The Spurs also covered in their last matchup vs. the Pelicans.

This is only a lean because the Pelicans are a dominant 8-2 ATS in their last 10 matchups vs. the Spurs.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 220.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in 3 of the last 4 Spurs-Pelicans meetings and is also 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in New Orleans. The Under also hit in San Antonio’s last outing and has hit in 2 of New Orleans’ last 4.

Nuggets 119, Spurs 108

PASS.

There is no value on the Nuggets (-2000), who are 30-8 at home this season, to beat a San Antonio (+1000) squad that is 8-29 on the road.

Warriors at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 111, Spurs 106

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Warriors (-375), who are 21-14 on the road, to take down the Spurs, who are 10-27 at home.

Against the spread

BET SPURS +8.5 (-115).

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The San Antonio Spurs (17-56) welcome the New York Knicks (44-28) to Frost Bank Center Friday. Tip is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Knicks vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Knicks lead 1-0 with a 126-105 win on Nov. 8 as a 9-point home favorite

The Spurs beat the Utah Jazz 118-111 on the road Wednesday, covering as a 4-point underdog. They have won 2 straight, covering in both, and are 3-3 straight up and 4-2 against the spread (ATS) over their last 6. San Antonio is 37-36 ATS on the season. It is led by F Victor Wembanyama, who is averaging 20.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

The Knicks beat the Toronto Raptors 145-101 Wednesday, covering as a 14-point road favorite. They have won 3 straight games by double figures and have covered in each. Knicks at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Knicks 118, Spurs 106

Moneyline

PASS.

The Knicks have won 7 of their last 8 games and have won their last 2 road games against teams outside of the playoff picture by at least 12 points. They aren’t worth a play at -420 though.

Against the spread

BET KNICKS -9 (-110).

New York has covered in 4 of its last 5 games as a favorite, and it is 4-0-1 ATS in those 5. The Knicks have a plethora of scoring options as 6 players average double figures, so the absence of Randle shouldn’t impact them too much.

The Spurs will be missing 1 of their 3 players averaging over 12 points, so Johnson’s absence will be felt. They are 1-2 ATS in their last 3 at home and 3-4 ATS in their last 7 at home.

Considering those trends, back KNICKS -9 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 212 (-110).

The Spurs are a young team and like to run. They rank 3rd in the NBA in pace. While the Knicks sit 30th in pace, they have an efficient offense that has scored at least 124 points in 2 straight games.

The Knicks have gone Over in 4 of their last 5. The Spurs, who have allowed at least 110 points in 5 of their last 7, have gone Over in 3 of their last 6.

Take OVER 212 (-110).

Spurs at Jazz picks and predictions

Prediction

Spurs 115, Jazz 110

Moneyline

The Jazz have more home wins (20) than the SPURS (+135) have total wins (16), and 20 of the Jazz’s 29 victories have been at Delta Center. But they have lost 5 of their last 6 games at home.

The Jazz are 3-13 since the All-Star break.

The Spurs are coming off a win but have won consecutive games only 4 times all season. They are, though, 5-8 in their last 13 games.

These are both bad teams, and the Jazz have been playing worse despite being so much better at home than on the road.

The Spurs have been playing better more recently than Utah, so take a shot with the underdogs here.

BET SPURS (+125).

Against the spread

The Jazz are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games.

The Spurs are 6-4 ATS over their last 10 games and 11-6 ATS since the break.

But if you like the Spurs to win the game, you are better off taking the plus odds on the moneyline.

PASS.

Over/Under

Both previous meetings this season had totals above the projection for this matchup.

Three of the Spurs’ last 4 have stayed below 230 total points, while only 1 of the Jazz’s last 6 games reached 230 points.

The Spurs have scored more than 106 points just once in the 1st 7 games of their homestand. The Suns have scored 115 or more in 3 straight games.

Suns at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 119, Spurs 108

Moneyline

The Suns have hit 41 three-pointers in their last 2 games. They are 18-15 on the road this season while the Spurs are only 8-26. And the Suns will want to avenge their 2 home losses to the Spurs from earlier this season.

The Spurs have only 15 wins all season and only 7 on the road. Two were in Phoenix.

San Antonio has just 5 wins in its last 24 games. They are 7-34 against teams with winning records.

Betting the Spurs has a big payout if they win, but you can’t reasonably count on that, while betting the Suns just isn’t profitable enough in this game.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Suns are 28-40-2 ATS overall this season while the Spurs are 35-35 ATS.

The Suns’ last 3 wins and 4 of the last 6 have been by at least 10 points.

Ten of the Spurs’ last 16 losses have been by double digits.

BET SUNS -9.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The totals in the 2 previous meetings this season (Oct. 31 and Nov. 2) were 229 and 253.

The Spurs have only had 1 of their last 6 games surpass 230 total points.

The Suns have had 2 of their last 3 games surpass 230 total points but 5 of their last 7 did not.

The Spurs have allowed only 1 opponent to score at least 120 points in their last 12 games.

Season series: Grizzlies lead 2-0; Memphis has won both meetings by at least 12 points, splitting 1-1 against the spread (ATS) and the Over-Under

The Grizzlies have won 13 consecutive games against the Spurs since Dec. 23, 2020, which was the opening game of the season in the COVID-shortened season. Memphis has failed to cover in 6 of the past 7 meetings, however, with the Over going 5-1 across the previous 6 battles.

San Antonio lost 113-107 to the Dallas Mavericks at home last time out on Tuesday, but it covered as a 9-point underdog as the Under (236.5) connected. The Spurs have dropped 4 of the past 5 games, but they’ve been hot against the number, going 10-4 ATS in the past 14 outings.

Grizzlies at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 109, Spurs 106

Moneyline

The GRIZZLIES (+210) are banged up, but worth a roll of the dice for the chance to double up. The Spurs (-255) just cannot seem to get out of their own way, and San Antonio still has just 15 wins on the season.

Memphis has dominated this series, and until San Antonio can start ticking off wins on the regular against the Grizzlies, keep backing Memphis.

Against the spread

If you’re a little on the conservative side, and just not feeling the GRIZZLIES +6 (-108) straight up, they’re a good play catching 3 buckets.

Memphis is a respectable 3-2 ATS in the past 5 games, while the Spurs -6 (-112) are 3-1 ATS in the past 4 outings. And while San Antonio is 5-1 ATS in 6 games as a favorite this season, it hasn’t been this large of a favorite all season. Since the Spurs struggle so much against the Grizzlies, San Antonio cannot be trusted.

Over/Under

UNDER 218 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Under is on a 4-1 run for the Spurs, going for 107 or fewer points in 4 of the past 5 outings. The Under cashed in the most recent meeting in Memphis on Jan. 2, also, with a total of 204 points on a total of 237.

The Over has cashed in 4 in a row for the Grizzlies, mostly due to the fact Memphis has struggled defensively, including 137 points allowed at Golden State, and 121 points in an OT loss at Sacramento prior to that. Those are good offenses, unlike San Antonio.

Mavericks at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Mavericks 118, Spurs 107

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Mavericks (-375), who are 18-14 on the road this season, to beat the Spurs, who are 8-24 at home.

Against the spread

LEAN MAVERIKCS -8.5 (-110).

The Mavericks and Spurs are each 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games.

Dallas has covered in 6 consecutive games, including 4 straight as a favorite and each of its last 3 on the road.

The Spurs are 2-2 ATS in their last 4 games and 1-2 ATS in their last 3 as underdogs. With Dallas eyeing a playoff spot and San Antonio coming off a lengthly overtime game, expect Dallas to impose its will Tuesday.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 233.5 (-110).

Dallas has held opponents to 105 or fewer points with the Under hitting in 3 of its last 4 games. It has scored 120 or fewer points in 7 of its last 9 games.

San Antonio has scored 106 or fewer points with the Under hitting in 3 of its last 4 games. It has allowed 117 or fewer points in 5 straight games and 118 or fewer in 9 of its last 10.

Brooklyn Nets vs. San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Brooklyn Nets vs. San Antonio Spurs odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Brooklyn Nets (26-41) and San Antonio Spurs (14-53) meet Sunday. Tip-off from the Moody Center in Austin is set for 7 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Nets vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Nets lead 1-0

The Nets are coming off a 121-100 loss against the Indiana Pacers Saturday with the Under (228.5) cashing in Indianapolis. Brooklyn, which led by as many as 9 in the 1st half, was outscored 62-43 after halftime and failed to cover as an 8-point underdog.

The Spurs lost 117-106 vs. the Denver Nuggets in Texas’ capital city (Austin) Friday as the Under (224.5) hit. F Jeremy Sochan had a team-high 19 points for the Spurs, who failed to cover as 10.5-point underdogs despite a record crowd for a sporting event at the Moody Center (16,223).

In their 1st regular-season meeting (Feb. 10), the Nets covered as 6-point home favorites with a 123-103 win over the Spurs with the Under (232) cashing in Brooklyn. G Dennis Schroder finished with 15 points and 12 dimes, the most assists by a player in his Nets debut since now-Clippers G James Harden had 14 Jan. 16, 2021.

Nets at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 111, Spurs 110

Moneyline

While I do like the Nets (+105) to win, I prefer paying 10 cents for the 1.5 points of insurance.

PASS. Take the points and/or bet the total instead.

Against the spread

The Spurs were -20 when C Victor Wembanyama was on the floor in last month’s meeting, which speaks to the job C Nic Claxton and the Nets as a whole did defensively on the Spurs rookie.

While I obviously wouldn’t predict a 20-point Nets win, Claxton may be uniquely qualified to slow down the Spurs’ No. 1 option in Wembanyama.

BET NETS +1.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Nets looked lost offensively last time out, scoring just 100 points on the night against Indiana’s bottom-3 defense. However, the last time they scored 100 or fewer points — March 9 at the Charlotte Hornets — they responded with a 120-101 win the next night against the Cleveland Cavaliers, helping the Over (209) cash.

Look for the Nets to have a similar bounceback in Austin against a team they dropped 123 points against last Sunday.

BET OVER 217.5 (-115).
