It appears a Spartans cornerback target in the 2024 class is now off the board.
Samuel Madu of White Plains, N.Y. announced his commitment to Minnesota on Sunday afternoon. Madu took an official visit to Minnesota this past weekend.
Madu is unranked on 247Sports, but is a prospect the Spartans have been targeting. He holds offers from more than 10 schools, including Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue, Duke, Missouri, Penn State, West Virginia, Vanderbilt and Syracuse.
Madu was expected to take an official visit to Michigan State next weekend and Purdue the following weekend. It’s unclear at this time if he will be still taking those visits or if he’ll cancel those based on his commitment to Minnesota.
