Samford at Arizona odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Samford at Arizona odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Samford Bulldogs (9-2) take on the Arizona Wildcats (4-5) in Tucson Wednesday. Tip-off from McKale Center is at 9 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Samford vs. Arizona odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

The Bulldogs have won 5 straight games. They last played Dec. 8 at home, routing Austin Peay 72-47 to cover as 13-point favorites with the Under (149) cashing in. They are 3-2 against the spread (ATS) in the win streak and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games.

The Wildcats have lost 3 of their last 4 games, recently losing on somewhat of a neutral floor in Phoenix to UCLA 57-54 Saturday. Arizona was a 4-point favorite and the Under (143.5) easily hit. ‘Zona is 2-5 in its last 7 games after a 2-0 start to the season, but it has played a tough schedule — losses to No. 5 Duke, No. 15 Oklahoma, previously ranked Wisconsin and 8-2 West Virginia.

Samford at Arizona picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona 91, Samford 70

Moneyline

Arizona is 3-1 at home this season. Samford is 2-2 on the road.

While Arizona has been uncharacteristically unspectacular this season, it has not had problems with teams in lesser-known conferences with blowout wins over Southern Utah, Davidson, Old Dominion and Canisius.

Samford falls into the same category.

The odds are overwhelmingly in favor of the Wildcats to pick up the win, but you should never make a bet at -2500 odds.

PASS.

Against the spread

In the Wildcats’ 4 wins, they averaged 100.3 points per game (PPG) and the margin of victory was average of 39.0 points. When they win, they win big. They are 3-1 ATS in their wins.

Samford covered the spread in the only game it has had as a double-digit underdog, but Arizona plays too well in its wins.

BET ARIZONA -19.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Both teams score. Samford is No. 2 in the nation in scoring, averaging 90.5 PPG. Arizona is 11th, averaging 83.4 PPG. (Kentucky is first at 91.3 PPG).

The total in Arizona’s 4 wins has been an average of 161.5 PPG.

Both teams are 6-3 O/U this season, but only 3 of Arizona’s games have reached 168 total points.

Only 1 of the last 4 and 2 of the last 6 for Samford have surpassed 167 points.

BET UNDER 168.5 (-115).

March Madness: Samford vs. Kansas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Samford vs. Kansas odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 13 seed Samford Bulldogs (29-5) will battle the 4th-seeded Kansas Jayhawks (22-10) Thursday in the 1st round of the Midwest Region. Tip from Delta Center in Salt Lake City is scheduled for 9:55 p.m. ET (TBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Samford vs. Kansas odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Samford has won 4 games in a row after beating ETSU 76-69 in the SoCon Championship Game Monday but failed to cover as an 8-point favorite. F Achor Achor scored a game-high 25 points, while 3 total Samford players scored in double figures. The Bulldogs shot 43.4% from the field in the win.

Kansas fell 72-52 to Cincinnati in the 2nd round of the Big 12 Tournament March 13, failing to cover as a 3-point underdog. F K.J. Adams scored a team-high 22 points vs. Cincy, while Kansas shot 33.9% from the field in the loss. The Jayhawks played without C Hunter Dickinson and leading scorer G Kevin McCullar Jr. (18.3 points per game) due to injuries. While Dickinson is expected to play Thursday, McCullar Jr. has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Kansas is No. 20 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Samford vs. Kansas picks and predictions

Prediction

Kansas 73, Samford 68

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on Kansas (-300) to beat a less superior team. However, keep a close eye on Samford, who is 8-2 in its last 10, who could put the Jayhawks on upset alert.

Against the spread

BET SAMFORD +7.5 (-110).

Samford has covered in 2 of its last 3 games and has scored 76 or more points in 3 of its last 4. It faces a Kansas squad that is just 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games, including 1-4 ATS in its last 5. With Kansas missing its leading scorer, the Bulldogs have enough offensive ability to keep this game within reach.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 153.5 (-110).

Samford has hit the Under in 2 of its last 3 games while scoring 76 or fewer in each of those games and in 4 of its last 7. Kansas has failed to hit the Over in 7 of its last 10 games including each of its last 2 in which it scored 52 points or fewer in each game. It has scored 74 or fewer in 8 of its last 10.

Samford at Georgia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Samford at Georgia odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs (1-0) host the Samford Bulldogs (1-0) Saturday in Athens. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Samford vs. Georgia odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

(Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports)

Samford beat Kennesaw State 27-17 Thursday, Sept. 1. It was a come-from-behind win as the Bulldogs scored 13 unanswered points in the 4th quarter. QB Michael Hiers put up 289 passing yards with 4 touchdowns, while RB Jay Stanton had 16 carries for 90 yards. WR Kendall Watson was Heir’s favorite target with 9 receptions for 187 yards and 2 TDs. Samford will hope for a sliver of that offense to show up against a strong Georgia team.

Georgia will be looking to continue its dominance, coming off a 49-3 victory against then-No. 12 ranked Oregon. QB Stetson Bennett threw for 368 yards and 2 touchdowns with 117 yards attributed to WR Kenny McIntosh (9 receptions). On the defensive side of the ball, DB Malaki Starks had 5 solo tackles and an interception, while DB Christopher Smith had 3 solo tackles and a pick of his own. Georgia will be clicking on all cylinders in its first home game back in Sanford Stadium since their national championship victory.

Samford at Georgia picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 68, Samford 3

Money line

Georgia is such a big favorite that some sportsbooks might not offer a money line. As of this publishing, Tipico Sportsbook didn’t list a money line. Even if it does before kickoff, playing such a big favorite makes no sense at all.

Against the spread

PASS. With a 52.5-point spread, this is not worth the risk. Georgia is going to blow Samford out of the water similar to the way it beat down Oregon, a much, much better team. This game should be decided by the end of the 1st quarter and the backups should get to see some playing time by the end of the game.

Over/Under

BACK OVER 65.5. (-108).

Both Georgia’s offense and defense will be far too much for Samford to handle. Samford will not contribute much to the total points in this one, rather Georgia running up the score will help hit the Over.
