GoFundMe page started for former UFC fighter Sam Stout after death of his month-old daughter

In wake of tragedy, GoFundMe page launched for former UFC fighter Sam Stout and his family.

A GoFundMe page has been started for former UFC fighter [autotag]Sam Stout[/autotag] and his family after the death of their month-old daughter.

Stout announced the unfortunate news last week on Instagram. The 36-year-old said his daughter passed away in her sleep.

“Most of you already know that we lost Sydney Love Stout in her sleep the night before last,” Stout wrote. “We tried to save her, but it was too late. The last month with her was the best month of my life, and this is now the worst time of my life … it still doesn’t feel real.

“Jessie (Stout’s wife) and I haven’t let go of each other since yesterday and we will continue to hold on to one other for the rest of our lives. We will be eternally scared from this. We appreciate all the love we have already received from the people around us. We Love you Sydney bean.”

The GoFundMe was created in hopes to raise money for day-to-day costs, counseling, and other bills. The goal was set at $5,000, but they were able to quickly surpass that mark and the donations now exceed $26,000.

Stout and his wife Jessie have a 6-year-old daughter, Logan Stout.

Stout competed in the UFC 20 times, with his last stint ranging from 2008 to 2015. The Canadian retired from professional fighting in late 2015. Stout walked away with a professional MMA record of 20–12–1.
