OKC Thunder announces 2024 Summer League roster

OKC Thunder announces 2024 Summer League roster.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have announced their 2024 summer league roster on Sunday. They will play at least seven games from July 8-19. They could play as late as July 22 if they qualify for the event’s playoffs.

OKC will participate in the Salt Lake City summer league from July 8-10 and the traditional Las Vegas summer league from July 13-19 at the very least. The full schedule for both events can be read here.

Blue head coach Kam Woods will lead the Utah squad while Blue assistant Daniel Dixon will lead the Vegas squad.

The 18-player roster is filled with third-year vets, two-way players, rookies, undrafted free agents and G League players. The full Thunder summer league roster is:

Ousmane Dieng and Dillon Jones headline the roster. The former will participate in his third straight summer league. The latter headlines OKC’s rookie class among healthy players.

Keyontae Johnson is also another notable name on the roster. He had his rights renounced by the Thunder recently, which makes him an unrestricted free agent. This came after a redshirt rookie campaign last year as the 24-year-old spent most of the season in the G League.

The Thunder’s top rookie Nikola Topic is left off this summer’s event. The 18-year-old slid to the No. 12 spot as he recovers from a partially torn ACL.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are scheduled to play at least four games. They could play additional games if they qualify for the postseason tournament.

The Thunder’s summer league schedule is:

The SLC summer league will feature the Thunder, Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies. Every team will play each other once. It will take place from July 8-10 — two days before the Las Vegas summer league, which spans from July 12-22.

OKC Thunder’s 2023 Salt Lake City Summer League schedule revealed

The Thunder’s full SLC summer league schedule was revealed:

The Oklahoma City Thunder will play summer league games in the first half of July, with the first batch scheduled to be played in Utah.

The Thunder’s Salt Lake City Summer League schedule was revealed on Sunday: Three games were announced. This will be the second consecutive year the Thunder participate in Utah’s summer league.

Unlike the Las Vegas Summer League, the Utah version consists of only four teams: the Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz. Each team will play each other once.

The Thunder will play the other three teams on the following dates:

  • July 3, 8 p.m. CT — vs. Jazz
  • July 5, 6 p.m. CT — vs. Grizzlies
  • July 6, 6 p.m. CT — vs. 76ers

This trio of games will be the first time fans will be able to watch the Thunder’s newest lottery rookie and possibly Chet Holmgren’s first game back from multiple foot surgeries. Ousmane Dieng and Jalen Williams also confirmed they plan to play in the summer league.

The entire Salt Lake City summer league schedule can be read below:

OKC Thunder to officially participate in 2023 Salt Lake City summer league

The Thunder are officially participating in two summer leagues again this year.

The Utah Jazz announced they will host their eighth consecutive summer league this July, and four teams, including the Oklahoma City Thunder, will participate.

The four teams are the Thunder, Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies. All four will play each other during the Salt Lake City summer league from July 3 to July 6.

This will be the second consecutive season the Thunder participated in Utah’s summer league. Thunder general manager Sam Presti confirmed OKC’s attendance during his end-of-season press conference.

There is a chance Chet Holmgren suits up for this summer league. Presti noted it’s possible he plays in July after missing the entire 2022-23 season due to a Lisfranc injury that required multiple foot surgeries.

“More reps, different environments, more opportunities,” Presti said on playing a second summer league. “The hard part is you just can’t play everybody the whole time because the schedule is pretty grueling. But our guys played — they soaked it up last year. We had to take a couple guys off the floor because they were just toast by the end. I think it’s great for us to do that. I’m a fan of doing that.”

The Thunder also will participate in Las Vegas’ league-wide summer league from July 7 to July 17. This means the Thunder will have games every other day for two weeks, from July 3 to July 17.
