The Utah Jazz welcome the Sacramento Kings to Delta Center Wednesday. Tip in the season opener for both teams is set for 9 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kings vs. Jazz odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting of 2023

The Jazz were among the surprise teams in the league last season behind the eruption of F Lauri Markkanen. He averaged a career-high 25.6 points per game. They also added F John Collins, which should add another solid offensive weapon. Utah finished 12th in the NBA with a 37-45 record and were 23-18 at home.

The Kings also shocked most NBA fans, posting a 48-34 record, which was good for 3rd in the Western Conference. They were 25-16 on the road. Sacramento’s season ended when it lost to the Golden State Warriors in Game 7 of the 1st round of the playoffs. G De’Aaron Fox led the way last season, averaging 25.0 points and 6.1 assists per game.

Kings at Jazz picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 121, Jazz 114

Moneyline

BET KINGS (-125).

The Kings posted a 25-16 road record last season. Only 1 other team in the Western Conference, the LA Clippers at 21-20, was above .500 away from home. Sacramento has a balanced roster, and its quickness should present a problem for the Jazz’s backcourt.

The Kings were 16-5 straight up last season as a home favorite. The Jazz did add Collins, but how he will work as more of a score-first forward is yet to be seen. Utah’s defense should struggle without many lockdown defenders.

Take KINGS (-125).

Against the spread

PASS.

Take the stress out of it if the game comes down to the wire and play the moneyline given how similar the odds are.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 235.5 (-105).

As the market adjusted to the Jazz last season, their Over-covering rate cooled off, but they did manage a league-best 47-33-2 O/U. The Kings were 43-45-1 O/U.

However, neither team ranked top 10 in pace, and with such a high total in this 1st game, only considering going Over for a team that’s expected to get out and run frequently.

Take UNDER 235.5 (-105).

Sacramento Kings at Utah Jazz odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Sacramento Kings at Utah Jazz odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

On Tuesday evening, the Sacramento Kings (3-3) will visit the Utah Jazz (5-1). The game is set to tip-off at 9 p.m. ET and will be held at Vivint Smart Home Arena.  Below, we look at the Kings at Jazz odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Kings are coming into this having played far better than most expected. SF Harrison Barnes has taken his game to a new level, averaging over 23 points per game (PPG) and shooting 45.5% from three.

Overall, this team is still led by PG De’Aaron Fox. Their previous two first-round picks, G Tyrese Haliburton and G Davion Mitchell, both play an impactful role as well.

The Kings have only lost to the Mavs, Jazz and Warriors while defeating the Suns, Pelicans and Blazers. They’ll meet a familiar foe in Utah who has only lost to the Bulls, one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Jazz are led by superstar SG Donovan Mitchell, but with five players averaging double figures, it’s really a team effort that’s kept that atop the West.

Kings at Jazz odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Jazz 115, Kings 108

Money line

PASS on the money line. The Jazz were 31-5 at home last season.

But, at -540, I’m still not taking that value. The Kings are a quality side but certainly aren’t favored to win. The Jazz should win this game, and the money lines should be irrelevant for bettors.

Against the spread

BET on the KINGS +9.5 (-120) as they’ve actually impressed this season. Lottery pick Davion Mitchell looks tenacious on the defensive end and should be able to calm the sparky guard Jordan Clarkson.

With Fox quicker than guard Mike Conley along with the length of Haliburton, I think the Kings match up particularly well.

The Kings also rank in the top third of the league in turnover rate, so they should take care of the ball better than the two teams’ last outing which Sacramento committed 15 turnovers.

While the Jazz are still the more talented side, the Kings should push their limits enough to cover a near double-figure spread. The Kings are 3-3 ATS this season. Utah is 5-1 ATS.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 221.5 (-108) as the better bet. While the Jazz rank third in defensive rating, it has been on the back of C Rudy Gobert.

With the Kings looking to cause trouble mainly due to their speedy backcourt, they should match up well, wanting to get their sharpshooters going early.

Both teams rank in the top half of the league in 3-point field goal attempts and offensive rating.

That said, the last time these two teams met the end score totaled 211 as neither team topped 42.0% from the field. An improvement the norm would boost these totals, and that’s the side I’d bank on.

Sacramento Kings at Utah Jazz odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Sacramento Kings at Utah Jazz NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Sacramento Kings (22-30) are in Salt Lake City Saturday for a 9 p.m. ET game against the first-place Utah Jazz (39-13) at Vivint Arena. Below, we analyze the Kings-Jazz odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Sactown is on a five-game losing skid (1-4 against the spread) following a five-game winning streak from March 22-29 in which it went 4-1 ATS. Four of the Kings’ past five losses were by double digits and they were the favorites in three of those games.

Utah recovered from back-to-back road losses against the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns earlier this week to pummel the Portland Trail Blazers 122-103 as a 5.5-point home favorite Thursday. The Jazz have a 2.5-game lead atop the Western Conference and have won 10 of their last 12 games.

The Kings got ran over 123-101 in their first meeting of the season with the Jazz Jan. 18. Utah is 4-1 straight up and ATS in its last five games with Sactown and all four of those victories were by at least 21 points.

Kings at Jazz: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Jazz 121, Kings 107

Money line (ML)

PASS because I don’t give Sactown much of a shot to steal this game but no way would I lay -750 with Utah.

The Kings have been punched in the mouth recently by the tanking Detroit Pistons, a Minnesota Timberwolves team with the worst record in the league, and a Los Angeles Lakers squad without LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

“LEAN” to the JAZZ -12 (-110) for a half-unit only because the backdoor is wide open for the Kings and any bad quarter for Utah will hurt its chances of covering the double-digit spread.

The Jazz are 18-4 ATS in their last 22 games as home favorites and they have a chance to pad their first-place lead over the next several games. Utah’s next three games are at home and are against the Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers.

Since I think Utah makes an early statement, I prefer the JAZZ -6.5 (-115) 1st Half line, but I still “LEAN” toward the Jazz covering the full game and winning by at least 13.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight “LEAN” to the UNDER 230.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit because the Over will need a lot of points from Utah since Sactown’s offense has been terrible lately, as well as against the Jazz in recent seasons.

Sactown is averaging just 95.5 points per game in the last four Kings-Jazz games and 107.3 PPG in April.
