Bryce Young scores nearly perfect on the S2 Cognition test

Bryce Young outscores Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow on S2 Cognition test

When you check the film, [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] has clearly been the best player in college football for the past two years. His instincts in the pocket are out of this world and his ability to process information quickly is wise beyond his years. All of this is on top of throwing one of the most beautiful and catchable balls in the collegiate game.

In 2021, Young’s first year as a starter, he led the Crimson Tide to an SEC Championship and national title appearance as well as bringing home virtually every award, including the Heisman Trophy. The 2022 season wasn’t quite as successful, but I would argue what he did was even more impressive.

There were times when it felt like Young was the only thing keeping the offense moving and giving Alabama a chance late in games. The supporting cast never really got to where they needed to be, but despite this, Young led the Tide to an 11-2 season that was capped off with a Sugar Bowl victory. For most programs, that is the pinnacle.

Young has been heralded a savant of the sport by many of those closest to him. Nick Saban shared that Young would show up on Mondays after game days with his own game plan and film breakdown for the ensuing opponent. Not something you see from many 21-year-old kids.

At the NFL combine, Young reportedly blew scouts away with his intellectual ability, but we never got to really understand how or why. Young reportedly scored a 98 out of a possible 99 on the S2 cognition test that measures the ability to quickly and accurately process information. This score was higher than that of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor Bryce Young ahead of the 2023 NFL draft.

Bryce Young featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s draft preview

Bryce Young heads the NFL draft preview as Sports Illustrated’s cover athlete

Exactly one week from today the 2023 NFL draft will commence. The futures of franchises will be forged and regrets will be made. The Carolina Panthers will likely not be the latter as all signs point to them selecting former Alabama superstar QB, [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag].

In the past week, Young has skyrocketed as the massive betting favorite to go No. 1 overall to the Panthers. Young has the best film of any quarterback in the class, has reportedly been outstanding in his pre-draft meetings and nearly posted a perfect score on the S2 cognition tests.

Young takes his career seriously, but every now and then it’s okay to bask in the fame a bit. Ahead of the draft, Young will appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated NFL draft edition. While he may downplay the significance, every kid grows up dreaming of being the cover athlete for SI.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor Bryce Young as he prepares for the NFL draft.
