Ryan Galanie thanks Tennessee fans after being drafted by the White Sox.

Ryan Galanie was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 13th round of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft (No. 389 overall).

Galanie transferred to Tennessee from Wofford on July 2.

He thanked Tennessee fans in a social media post on Saturday.

“To the Tennessee fans that supported me, I appreciate all the love,” Galanie said. “There wasn’t a fan base in college baseball that could’ve supported me more with pure class. I know I never got to suit up for the Vols, but I can’t say thank you enough.”

Galanie started 58 games at first base in 2023 at Wofford. He recorded 17 home runs, 88 hits, 66 RBIs, 73 runs, 40 walks, 35 stolen bases and a .383 batting average last season.

Galanie earned Southern Conference Player of the Year honors in 2023.

He started 59 games at third base in 2022.

The 2023 Major League Baseball first-year player draft is taking place Sunday-Tuesday in Seattle, Washington.

The MLB first-year player draft is being held in conjunction with the 2023 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday.

Ryan Galanie was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 13th round with the No. 389 overall pick.

Galanie transferred to Tennessee from Wofford on July 2.

He earned Southern Conference Player of the Year honors in 2023 at Wofford.

Galanie started 58 games at first base in 2023. He recorded 17 home runs, 88 hits, 66 RBIs, 73 runs, 40 walks, 35 stolen bases and a .383 batting average last season.

Galanie started 59 games at third base in 2022.

He is playing for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod Baseball League this summer.

He is playing for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod Baseball League.

Galanie started at third base on Saturday in Cotuit’s 3-2 loss at Harwich. He went 2-for-4 and hit his third home run during the Cape Cod Baseball League season.

Galanie started 58 games at first base in 2023 at Wofford, recording 17 home runs, 88 hits, 66 RBIs, 73 runs, 40 walks, 35 stolen bases and a .383 batting average.

He started 59 games at third base in 2022 at Wofford.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound transfer is from Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
