The March Madness fervor is quickly rising as the major conferences wrap up their regular-season schedules, including the Big Ten which features the Rutgers Scarlet Knights hosting the Ohio Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon.
If it were not for the lowly Michigan Wolverines, the Scarlet Knights would inhabit the conference cellar this season, bringing a 15-15 overall mark and a 7-12 Big Ten record into play. Losers of five of the last six — with the one win coming against UM — Rutgers needs to end things on a high note.
The Buckeyes have not been terribly better but at least have a signature win over the Purdue Boilermakers to their credit. Winners of the last three and four of the past five, Ohio State has an 18-12 overall tally and an 8-11 conference mark ahead of the matchup.
