Cowboys-Eagles Week 14 gameday bible: Rooting guide, top prop bets, how to stream

Everything you need to full enjoy every part of Week 14, what to bet on, who to root for before SNF and every way to catch the game. | From @KDDrummondNFL

After 10 days off to heal nicks and bruises, and mentally focus on the coming stretch, it’s finally game day for the Dallas Cowboys. Winners of four straight, the Cowboys are now in the meaty part of their 2023 schedule. When first announced, the gauntlet was meant to have two equally challenging parts. Facing both New York teams, including the Giants twice, was supposed to mean three playoff teams on top of the San Francisco 49ers and the first matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Major regression to the mean happened for Brian Daboll’s troops and a Week 1 injury to Aaron Rodgers turned those contests into laughers. The other five tough contests have arrived, with the Cowboys taking out the Seattle Seahawks in a tasty Week 13 appetizer. That was the tune up; Sunday night’s rematch against the Eagles is the one of the main courses to be followed by road trips to Buffalo and Miami before returning home for the upstart Detroit Lions.

And while all of the games matter in the grand scheme of things, they lose some steam if the Cowboys aren’t able to even the series and the season-long records with the Eagles. From the perspective of winning the division and chasing a bye, this is a must-win game for the Cowboys. But they’ll have to wait through a days worth of action where those games could have an impact on Dallas’ pursuit as well.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to cheer during those games, how to wager on the Cowboys-Eagles matchup and how to catch the action if you’re away from your TV screens.

Week 12 Rooting Guide: Best outcomes for Ravens with playoff picture developing

We’re looking at the Week 12 rooting guide for the Baltimore Ravens with the AFC playoff picture developing

The Ravens (8-3) have won five of their past six games and are set to travel to the West Coast for an intriguing battle with the Los Angeles Chargers (4-6) on NBC’s Sunday Night Football (8:20 p.m. ET
kickoff).

Baltimore is tied with Miami for the AFC’s best record, but the Dolphins’ 34-13 win over the New York Jets gives the No. 1 seed for now.

The Los Angeles Chargers are trying to avoid falling entirely out of playoff contention after a 23-20 loss to the Packers in Week 11.

With only one of the four Thanksgiving and Black Friday games featuring AFC teams, we’re providing a rooting guide for the Sunday and Monday slate of games.

The 8 most important games to Cowboys’ longshot No.1 seed hopes

A look at the remaining 2023 games that can most help Dallas’ longshot pursuit of a No. 1 seed. It’s unlikely, but here’s what would help immensely. | From @KDDrummondNFL

The Cowboys are, more than likely, going to need to finish 13-4 to have any semblance of hope in capturing the prize. Running the table would be ideal, and still might not even be enough, but in order to finish as the No. 1 NFC seed, they can likely afford just one more loss. That future defeat certainly can’t come in Week 14 or Week 17.

The pursuit is, again in all likelihood, over if they lose either against the Philadelphia Eagles or even the Detroit Lions. But even with a near-flawless execution of their remaining gauntlet, Dallas will need assistance to make their way to the top of the totem. Here’s a look at the most influential contests that Dallas won’t be a part of, but need to be intently watching the results of.

Week 11 Rooting Guide: Best outcomes for Ravens with playoff picture developing

We’re looking at the Week 11 rooting guide for fans as the Baltimore Ravens could land the top spot in the AFC with a Chiefs loss to the Eagles

The Ravens are 8-3 and looking dominant again after Lamar Jackson threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter to help Baltimore beat Cincinnati 34-20 Thursday night.

The short week now allows John Harbaugh’s team to get some rest, and the weekend will provide fans of both teams ample opportunity to see plenty of other intriguing NFL action from the AFC and NFC.

The remaining Week 11 games offer an opportunity to root against rival AFC foes.  Baltimore could enter Monday night as the top team in the conference with a Philadelphia win over Kansas City.

With kickoff for the Sunday games fast approaching, here’s an updated rooting guide.

Week 11 Rooting Guide: Best outcomes for Eagles with playoff picture developing

We’re looking at the Week 11 rooting guide for fans as the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Chiefs on Monday night

The Eagles (8-1) have a huge Monday night matchup against the Chiefs (7-2) fast approaching, and it’s just one of several games that’ll have playoff implications.

Philadelphia and Kansas City will finish Week 11 on ESPN/ABC, and the Sunday slate of games offers several intriguing matchups and plenty of rooting scenarios in the NFC and AFC.

With kickoff fast approaching, we’re looking at the updated rooting guide for Eagles fans.

Week 9 Rooting Guide: Don’t look now, but Cowboys control own destiny for 2023

A look at how Dallas somehow took control of their own playoff path, along with a rooting guide for the handful of NFC games. | From @KDDrummondNFL

Just four weeks ago, the landscape was much different. The Dallas Cowboys were thoroughly embarrassed on national television. Facing the team that had eliminated them from the tournament each of the last two seasons, Dallas brass claimed the Week 5 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers was a measuring stick. The club was weighed and found wanting, to the tune of a 42-10 shellacking that dropped the team’s record to 3-2.

Three games later, and Dallas is in position to take control of the NFC race for the No. 1seed as their season approaches it’s midpoint. With two wins sandwiched around a bye week, the Cowboys have watched the rest of the conference retreat towards the gooey middle. Somehow, the club has survived the apocalypse and find themselves in control of their own destiny.

2023 Rooting Guide: 7 Week 7 games that matter to the Cowboys

A look at the matchups for eight of the NFC teams who are in the playoff picture with Dallas and which results would help the most while the Cowboys rest up. | From @KDDrummondNFL

It’s a bit early for us to break out the rooting guide for the season, but there are a couple of reasons to do so. For one, the Dallas Cowboys have an early bye week this season. That’s not really new. Despite the NFL handing out byes through Week 14, Dallas has had a bye between Week 6 and Week 10 for the last nine seasons.

The other, and biggest reason is that there is a logjam of teams that are either bona fide or fringe contenders in the NFC this season. Dallas’ Week 5 loss to the San Francisco 49ers was devastating because of how it went down, but the result wasn’t unexpected. It was the Week 3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals that put the Cowboys in a “need” help situation.

Now, there’s context here. If Dallas wins a supermajority of their remaining 11 games, they don’t necessarily need a ton of help to get the coveted No. 1 seed in the conference. But the schedule is daunting and Dallas will inevitably lose more games as things move forward. Therefore help during their bye week can still go a long way towards helping.

Here’s a breakdown of which games hold interest this week and how Cowboys Nation should lean.

Guide to which teams Raiders fans should be rooting for in NFL Week 18 matchups

Who Raiders fans should be rooting for in each matchup this weekend.

With their loss to the 49ers last Sunday, the Raiders are officially out of the playoffs. Now the focus shifts to other priorities. Namely the draft.

As of now, the range the Raiders can land in is between picks 6-10. They would have to lose against the Chiefs and have a couple other games go their way to move up to six. But should they beat the Chiefs, they won’t fall farther than 10th.

While I don’t expect any Raiders fans to root for their team to lose to the Chiefs, so let’s just leave that one of the equation and look at the rest of the games and how you should be hoping it goes.

Rams over Seahawks

Rams currently hold the 6th overall pick. A win by them is Raiders only chance at that pick.

Falcons over Buccaneers

Falcons currently hold the 7th overall pick by virtue of Strength of Schedule. It’s a very slim lead, but it could hold. A win would end that conversation.

Panthers over Saints

Raiders also hold a very slim SoS lead for the 8th pick over the Panthers. Again, it may or may not hold after the finale, but a win by the Panthers would help.

Vikings over Bears
Chargers over Broncos
49ers over Cardinals

Texans over Colts

Why should you want these outcomes? Well, because the Raiders will be thinking QB high in this draft, so best that the teams not looking for a QB have higher picks.

The Bears, Seahawks (who pick for the Broncos), and Cardinals all have QBs in place. Losses would either move them up the draft order, or ensure they remain in the top five. Then they would either draft another position or be open to make a trade with the Raiders.

Meanwhile, the Texans winning would allow the Bears to move to the top pick. Though it would also mean the QB needy Colts would also move up, so, unless they acquire Derek Carr this offseason, that game result is less important.

Titans over Jaguars
Browns over Steelers
Jets over Dolphins

The Titans, Browns, and Jets all sit at 7-9 on the season. There is little chance, based on SoS, that the Raiders could fall below any of them, but best to hope for wins anyway, just to be safe.

Bills over Patriots

The only team that could can keep the Chiefs from getting the top seed in the AFC — and thus a first round bye — is the Bills. And a Patriots loss could knock them out of the playoffs. So, go Bills.

Ravens over Bengals

A Ravens win and a Chargers loss would drop the Chargers from the 5th to the 6th seed.

Commanders over Cowboys

Washington is out of the playoffs and a win would mean Daniel Snyder’s club gets a lower draft pick. That’s not a lot to move the needle, but it’s something.

Eagles over Giants

If the Eagles win, they clinch the top seed which keeps the 49ers from getting it and drops the Cowboys to the 5th seed. That just seems funny to me, so go Eagles.

Coverage maps, Cowboys rooting guide for pivotal Week 17 Sunday

A look at the matchups that matter to the Cowboys’ playoff positioning and potential opponents in Week 17, and whether you can watch them or not. | From @KDDrummondNFL

The Dallas Cowboys are in the clubhouse, already having completed their Week 17 round. Playing the equivalent of a morning round, Dallas took care of their business on Thursday night, winning 27-13 on the road in Tennessee to improve to 12-4 on the season.  Now Dallas enters the “can anyone help us” phase of the weekend schedule, as the New Year has arrived with a ton of unfinished business.

For two straight weeks the Cowboys have refused to go quietly into the night, staving off the idea that their playoff seed was set in stone. In all likelihood Dallas will enter the tournament as the NFC’s fifth seed, but they’ve kept alive the gutshot straight draw of winning the NFC East and earning a top-three seed. Here’s a look at all of Sunday’s action, who Dallas will play for, and what fans will be able to watch without help.

Packers playoff rooting guide: Who can help Green Bay in Week 17?

The Packers will be rooting hard for a few teams (and one in particular) during Week 17. And, of course, Matt LaFleur’s team needs to beat the Vikings.

The Green Bay Packers are officially alive in the NFC playoff race entering Week 17.

Once 4-8, the Packers now only need three individual results over the final two weeks to clinch a playoff spot in the NFC: two wins (vs. Vikings, vs. Lions) and one Commanders loss (either vs. Browns or vs. Cowboys).

The Packers could also get in with two wins and two Giants losses (vs. Colts, at Eagles).

Elimination also looms over this week. If the Packers lose, a win by either the Lions or Commanders would mathematically eliminate Green Bay entering the final week.

A win over the Vikings on Sunday afternoon ensures that Week 18 will mean something to the Packers.

The top of the NFC also factors in. Will Week 18 mean something to the Eagles and Cowboys? The Packers may need one of the teams to provide an assist in the season finale.

So, here’s the quick rooting guide for Week 17:

– Bears over Lions

– Colts over Giants

– Browns over Commanders

– Saints over Eagles

The big one is, obviously, the Commanders. If Washington loses, the Packers will know they need nothing more than wins over the Vikings and Lions at home to finish the season to get into the playoffs.

A loss by the Lions is simply insurance against elimination, and a Giants loss keeps open another realistic possibility for sneaking in.

Finally, an Eagles loss would ensure Week 18 means something to both Philadelphia and Dallas. The Packers may need help from the two teams (vs. Giants and Commanders) in the season finale. The Cowboys won on Thursday night, keeping pressure on the Eagles this week and next week too if the Saints can pull off the upset.

It’s no longer “win and get a lot of help” in Green Bay. It’s “win and get a little bit more help.” The Packers’ magic number for getting into the playoffs could be down to one by the end of Week 17.
