Who runs Magic Johnson’s truly perfect Twitter account? We may finally have an answer.

With help from Rob Lowe, we may FINALLY have found out who posts for Magic Johnson.

Is there anything better than a tweet from Magic Johnson? Even though often obvious and bland, he has one of the most beloved voices on the website.

Just like he was on the basketball court, he is a human highlight reel online as well. He has shared some of the best posts we have ever seen. We were very glad to have him back on the website after he quit his job with the Lakers in 2019.

Some of the best include stunningly basic thoughts about the Dodgers, skinny pop popcorn, the greatness of Kawhi Leonard, petty criticism of the Celtics and a scathing review of his Washington Commanders.

But the question many have long wondered is if it is Johnson who actually posts on his account or if he has some type of brilliant ghostwriter.

On the latest episode of his show, Pablo Torre Finds Out, Meadowlark Media’s Pablo Torre was asked to investigate who actually runs the Twitter account for Johnson.

He reached out to Johnson’s team and heard back from Alexia Grevious Henderson, the Vice President of Magic Johnson Enterprises. This is what she said:

“Thank you for reaching out. I hope you’ve been well and had a great summer!

Unfortunately, Mr. Johnson respectfully declines to participate. He has elected not to discuss the behind-the-scenes of his social strategy.

Thank you for the consideration!”

Not satisfied with the answer, however, Torre reached out to someone who he suspected may have something a bit more revealing to share. That person was famed actor Rob Lowe.

Johnson and Lowe have been friends since the 1980s and the two know each other very well. Back in 2020, Johnson was a guest on Lowe’s podcast and the Basketball Hall of Fame point guard revealed that he tells somebody what to say and then that person writes his tweets for him.

So although Johnson doesn’t physically type out the message, there is still plenty of reason for fascination. Here is what Lowe shared:

“I have it on very good authority that he dictates it. Whatever occurs to him, with the emphasis on whatever occurs to him. It’s the best. Twitter was made for him.”

Lowe speculated that Johnson’s tweets are “pre-loaded” with different messages depending on the outcome of the events. He described Johnson’s account as a “gift” and one of the only joys remaining left on Twitter.

In case that answer leaves you unsatisfied, however, Torre was able to dig a little bit deeper.

“I did also want to be fair to any skeptics out there who wanted the actual answer our great listener left. We know now that it is Magic Johnson dictating the tweets. We know it is his voice, incontrovertibly. But in terms of the person who is physically writing them, who is writing this account, there was even more digging that I had to do. …

They wanted to keep all of this a secret, obviously, the social media strategy. But I truly investigated this. I did all of these interviews on background. I got to somebody who was in the room, actually, while it was happening: Magic Johnson with this mystery person posting to the account. What I was told: the person who physically posts for Magic Johnson was none other than Alexia Grevious Henderson.”

That, of course, was the person who initially e-mailed Torre to say that Johnson elected not to discuss the social media strategy.

WHAT A TWIST.

Rob Lowe and Lakers GM Rob Pelinka were at Game 1 vs. the Warriors

It has been rumored that Lakers GM Rob Pelinka is actually actor Rob Lowe in disguise, but both were on hand for Game 1 versus the Warriors.

Over the last couple of years, Los Angeles Lakers executive Rob Pelinka has received criticism after the team went from NBA champions in 2020 to a non-playoff team last year.

He was publicly scorched by fans and pundits alike for the acquisition of Russell Westbrook, letting Alex Caruso walk in free agency, poor free agent signings in the summer of 2021 and not trading Westbrook for what would’ve been some unsatisfying returns.

But Pelinka stood tough, and in February he struck gold by turning Westbrook and limited draft capital into D’Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley. Along with the trade for Rui Hachimura a few weeks prior, the Westbrook deal turned everything around for the Lakers. Now they could be a championship contender in the making.

Although Pelinka has suddenly received abundant praise for remaking the team, he hasn’t been able to escape a persistent rumor — the rumor he is really actor Rob Lowe. Some pointed to the fact that Pelinka and Lowe had never been seen in the same room together.

Yet, on Tuesday in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals between the Lakers and Golden State Warriors, the two were both in attendance at Chase Center in San Francisco, California, to watch the Lakers emerge victorious, 117-112.

Perhaps now fans can focus on Pelinka’s job with the Lakers and not his supposed resemblance to the star of “The West Wing.”

Doppelgangers Rob Pelinka and Rob Lowe were both at the Lakers game, resulting in all the Spider-Man memes

They look so alike!!!

We’ve been here before: Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka has always looked like star of stage and screen Rob Lowe.

But now, you can’t make that joke about how you’ve “never seen Lowe and Pelinka in the same place.” Because now you have!

As the Los Angeles Lakers won Game 1 of their second-round playoff series against the Golden State Warriors, Lowe was there at the Chase Center watching as Pelinka’s squad with LeBron James beat the Dubs.

TNT cameras paired up the Robs in one shot and of course everyone made the same Spider-Man pointing meme joke on Twitter:

Actor Rob Lowe once hired a seaplane to see Game 6 of the Celtics-Lakers 1985 NBA Finals

The Hollywood actor was reportedly dedicated enough to hire a seaplane to not miss the game.

The rivalry between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers dates nearly to the start of the NBA, but many of the latter club’s more famous fans have been described as spectators given their apparent equal or greater interest in being seen at the game they are ostensibly there to watch.

That wasn’t the case for actor Rob Lowe, however, who recently revealed he once risked a role in the film “About Last Night,” to watch the Lakers. He shared that TriStar Pictures had forbidden him to travel to Massachusetts to see Game 6 of the 1985 NBA Finals in Boston. In Hulu’s “Legacy: The True Story of The LA Lakers,” the actor shared how he defied the studio and sneaked off to see his team finish the Celtics on their home floor.

“I hired a seaplane to secretly pick me up to fly to Boston and got in my seats just in time for tipoff,” said Lowe (h/t Landon Buford), and despite rooting for The Bad Guys, you have to respect that level of dedication.

Also, unlike many Hollywood peers, being seen was not something Lowe was hoping for; “Unfortunately they cut to me in the audience on the broadcast and the studio found out that I was there, and they were not happy.”

Rob Lowe mocked his viral NFL hat in a Super Bowl pregame video

Well played, Rob.

Hey, Rob Lowe can take a joke.

During the NFC Championship Game between the 49ers and Packers, Lowe was featured during the broadcast as Fox promoted 9-1-1: Lone Star (starring Lowe). The actor was in the stands at Levi’s Stadium strictly because Fox wanted him there for that promotional plug, so in the spirit of neutrality, Lowe wore an NFL shield hat.

Lowe subsequently went viral for his hat choice because, well, why would any non-ref wear an NFL logo hat? He looked like an undercover ref.

Ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl 54, Lowe got in on the joke. The Fox pregame show aired its weekly “Riggle’s Picks” segment, which included a Lowe cameo with a nod to that viral cap.

Here’s the relevant clip:

While discussing the Miami Super Bowl party advice he gave to Rob Riggle, Lowe held a hat that simply read, “Sports.”

He said:

“I gave Rob the single most important tip for throwing a party in Miami besides wearing a non-committal hat.”

And for those wondering … Rob Lowe does in fact have a favorite team. It’s the Indianapolis Colts. He should wear that hat next time.

7 fun predictions for Super Bowl LIV Sunday

Bray Wyatt, Rob Lowe, Joe Montana and Alex Rodriguez will likely playing to Super Bowl LIV Sunday.

Super Bowl Sunday always turns into a great day with the bizarre events that happen around the big game. Some random predictions:

There will be an onside kick

 Doug Benc/Getty Images
It won’t carry the shock factor or drama of Thomas Morstead’s onside kick to open the second half of Super Bowl XLI when the Saints surprised the Colts, but at some point a team will attempt an onside kick in Super Bowl LIV.

Twitter has field day with Rob Lowe and his NFL cap

The cap Rob Lowe wore to the NFL Championship Game set off a flurry of Tweets.

Rob Lowe happened to turn up at the NFC Championship Game Sunday. It had to be a mere coincidence that his new show, “Austin 9-1-1,” debuted on FOX following the Niners’ thrashing of the Packers.

And, when you show up at a game rocking an old-school NFL logo cap, what could go wrong in this age of social media? Just, everything.

The actor’s hat won’t do him much good in the setting for his series. Austin, TX, is associated with college football, not the NFL. But he knows that.

Rob Lowe’s hat provides internet fodder during a boring NFC championship game

Actor Rob Lowe doesn’t seem to age—and he doesn’t seem to root for any specific NFL team.

Actor Rob Lowe doesn’t seem to age—and he doesn’t seem to root for any specific NFL team.

The longtime Hollywood man has added intrigue to an otherwise boring NFC Championship game when he was snapped wearing a generic “NFL” hat.

Almost simultaneously, the internet noticed Lowe’s wardrobe choice, pointing out that his hat just says, N-F-L.

Known for such roles as “He’s the one who played saxophone” and “Tommy Callahan’s nemesis,” Lowe has taken a very diplomatic road here, keeping his simple joy of American football at the forefront while squashing any reason for either the 49ers or Packers fan base to act out in a rage of betrayal.

Internet Cosmos Update: Even Lowe is surprised by the amount of shine his hat choice has received.

Speaking of the internet and rage and betrayal, Boyz II Men caused a stir during this game, too, singing the national anthem…wearing San Francisco stuff. What? How? Why?! Many Philadelphia-based residents (and beyond) have pointed out that the Men are, in fact, from Philly. So, why would they do this—to the fan base, to the city, to earth?!

Obviously, they’re entertainers, so you can’t fault them for taking the gig—one that they absolutely nailed, by the way. But perhaps they should have been more discreet about what they wore to the game? (See: Rob Lowe.)

In both cases, though, you have to tip your hat to the pop culture juggernauts for providing some entertainment (distractions) while the 49ers continue dismantling Green Bay.

The only thing we can do now is wait for the Richard Sherman-Erin Andrews interview.

Fans had so many jokes for Rob Lowe wearing an NFL hat at the Niners-Packers game

He’s just a fan of the game.

You know, Rob Lowe is just a fan of the game.

During the first half of Sunday’s NFC Championship Game between the Packers and 49ers, Fox’s Joe Buck did what he’s done thousands of times over the years: He read a promotional plug for Fox’s television programming.

But this time, the star of the show, Rob Lowe, was in the crowd. As Buck read the plug for 9-1-1: Lone Star, the camera panned to the stoic Lowe in the stands at the Levi’s Stadium. Just from a look at Lowe’s attire, the actor was not rooting for either team. He instead opted to wear a generic NFL hat.

Lowe’s actual favorite NFL team is the Colts, but rather than rep a team that wasn’t participating in the game, Lowe really showed up to the game looking like an undercover ref.

NFL fans predictably had jokes about the hat.
