Wisconsin makes the top 10 schools for a class of 2026 wide receiver

Class of 2026 wide receiver Rico Blassingame included Wisconsin in his list of top 10 schools on Sunday.

Alongside UW, Kansas, Indiana, Washington, Texas A&M, Iowa State, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado State and Louisville cracked the junior’s final group of potential landing spots.

Wisconsin extended its offer to the three-star recruit on May 21, a few weeks out from the Badgers’ major summer recruiting windows for its class of 2025 cohort.

247Sports currently ranks the 6-foot-3, 180-pound wide receiver as the No. 552 overall recruit, No. 91 receiver and No. 5 prospect from Arizona in the class of 2026. While the outlet has yet to release a crystal ball prediction, On3’s recruiting prediction machine lists Washington as his most probable landing spot at 37.3%.

Blassingame totaled 60 catches for 593 yards and a touchdown in 10 appearances as a sophomore at Tolleson Union High School in Arizona. he also plays for the varsity basketball and track and field teams.

UW has landed one class of 2026 commitment thus far: three-star quarterback Jarin Mock.

The Wisconsin Badgers football team offered Rico Blassingame, a three-star class of 2026 wide receiver from Tolleson, Arizona, on Tuesday.

News also broke Tuesday that the talented wide receiver is set for unofficial visits to Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State this June.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound athlete reeled in 60 receptions for 593 yards and a touchdown during his sophomore year at Tolleson Union, garnering attention from programs across the country. Blassingame has now received 15 Division 1 offers, including Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue and Wisconsin within the Big Ten.

With Wisconsin’s offense going through a complete facelift under offensive coordinator Phil Longo and his “Air Raid” offense, athletes like Blassingame will have an eye on the Badgers this season. If Luke Fickell’s squad can show improvement in the passing game in particular, it will certainly increase their odds of landing Blassingame and others in 2026.

Considering he’s a member of the class of 2026, it’s unlikely that Blassingame will be making a decision on his college destination any time soon.

Wisconsin football extended an offer to three-star class of 2026 WR Rico Blassingame on Tuesday.

Both 247Sports’ composite ranking and On3’s industry ranking have Blassingame as a three-star recruit. The Tolleson, Arizona native already holds offers from 14 schools including Washington, Texas A&M, Purdue, Minnesota, Arizona, Lousville, UNLV and Iowa State.

On3’s industry ranking has Blassingame as the No. 72 wide receiver in the class of 2026, No. 3 recruit from Arizona and No. 450 overall player in the class.

At 6’3,’’ 185 pounds, Blassingame represents Tolleson Union High School in Arizona. He is also a member of the varsity basketball and track and field teams. He plays shooting guard and point guard on the hardwood and is a high jump specialist for Tolleson.

His first gridiron offer arrived from UNLV back in May 2023. His offers cooled off until May 2024, a month when Blassingame has received half of his collegiate opportunities.

On3’s recruiting prediction machine has the 2023 national championship runner-up Washington Huskies as Blassingame’s most likely landing spot. 247Sports has yet to release a crystal ball prediction, but in-state programs Arizona and Arizona State appear to be a likely suitors as well.

Blassingame became the second top class of 2026 WR to receive an offer from UW this past week, joining Texas recruit Brayden Robinson.
