Redskins take another step forward in removing George Preston Marshall’s name from sight

Going along with the recent moves to rid of the George Preston Marshall name, Washington took another step in the right direction on Wednesday, removing his name from the Ring of Honor at FedEx Field.
According to ESPN’s John Keim, Marshall’s name will no longer be featured at Fed Ex Field or Redskins Park going forward.
The Redskins are removing George Preston Marshall’s name from their Ring of Fame today…Marshall was the original owner of the Redskins, but was the last NFL owner to integrate his franchise, not doing so until 1962. His statue was removed from in front of Washington’s old home at RFK Stadium. He will also be removed from the Redskins History Wall outside the locker room of their practice facility at Redskins Park, ESPN’s John Keim.
The lower bowl at Fed Ex Field, which had previously been named after Marshall, has been renamed in the honor of the late Bobby Mitchell, who passed away earlier this year
