WATCH: Derrick Henry speaks directly to Titans fans ahead of free agency

Derrick Henry may not be returning to the Tennessee Titans after 8 years in Nashville. He speaks directly to the fans.

After eight amazing seasons in Nashville with the Tennessee Titans, Derrick Henry says goodbye to fans. Well, not actually, it just really seemed like it.

After the Titans defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars at home in Week 18 of the regular season, Henry made sure to grab the stadium microphone and thank his fans for the time he’s spent with the franchise.

The former Heisman Trophy recipient will soon hit free agency, where it’s possible that he could return to Tennessee, but not likely. The Titans have liked what they’ve seen from Tyjae Spears and, like many other NFL teams, are weary of giving a high-priced contract to a running back among the oldest in the league.

Concerns regarding running backs and aging have to deal with injury history, wear on the body and contract price compared to extremely young, or rookie, running backs.

Henry, however, has shown minimal signs of slowing down over the years. He’s still the same hard-hitting, stiff-arm-threatening running back that defenders ought to fear. Look at Raheem Mostert, the 31-year-old Dolphins running back is still one of the fastest in the league and scored 18 touchdowns this season.

No matter where Henry ends up, the team should use him as a feature back. You can see the video of him thanking the team and its fans in the post below.

Baltimore #Ravens 16-man practice squad prediction ahead of final roster cutdowns via @Thacover2NFL

The Ravens are counting down to the Tuesday afternoon deadline in which the organization will have to trim their roster down to 53 players, with a 16-man practice squad to be formed hours afterward.

With recent changes to the practice squad, NFL teams are able to utilize a farm system of versatile players to interchange weekly based on injury, opponent, or roster manipulation.

Of the 16 players allowed on Baltimore’s practice squad, ten have to be rookies or second-year players, while the remaining six have no limitations (veterans).

With the Ravens set for a Monday morning practice, here’s our final prediction for the team’s 16-man practice squad.

The Ravens have a loaded roster with explosive players on both sides of the football.

The additions of Ronald Darby and Jadeveon Clowney have made it difficult for the handful of rookies or veterans on the roster bubble.

With the roster cutdown date set for Tuesday afternoon, we released the final 53-man roster prediction of the summer.

Baltimore is stacked, but there are difficult decisions at the quarterback, running back, defensive back, and linebacker positions.

With teams around the league already making roster cuts, we’re looking at the locks to make the Ravens’ 53-man roster.

Josh Jacobs returns to wearing his college jersey number

Josh jacobs is dropping NO. 28 and will return to wearing No. 8, which he wore in his time at Alabama.

Former Alabama running back Josh Jacobs recently ended his holdout with the Las Vegas Raiders and agreed to a one-year contract, valued at $12 million. In other exciting news, he will be changing his number for the 2023 season. New contract, New Jersey for the 2019 first-round selection.

Jacobs spent the first four seasons of his NFL career wearing No. 28 for the Raiders but will return to wearing No. 8, which he sported on his Alabama uniform late in his college career.

The Raiders shared a brief video to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce the change and captioned it, “New number, same colors.” as a nod to the short contract extension that keeps him in Las Vegas.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Josh Jacobs and other former Alabama players now in the NFL as the 2023 season gets underway.

The Ravens finished their preseason with a 1-2 record after a 26-20 loss to the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.

With the late Saturday night finish, Baltimore will now work to join the other 31-teams around the league who are trimming their rosters down to 53 ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

We’re now 48 hours away from the roster deadline, and we’re assessing which stock is up, and which stock is down.

Indianapolis Colts release veteran RB Kenyan Drake

Kenyan Drake released by the Indianapolis Colts and is now free to sign with any team ahead of the 2023 season.

Former Alabama running back Kenyan Drake is back in the free-agent market ahead of the 2023 season after being released by the Indianapolis Colts.

Drake was a third-round selection by the Miami Dolphins in the 2016 NFL draft. He spent nearly four seasons in Miami but was traded to Arizona in the middle of the 2019 season. He’s also had short stints with the Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders.

In 2022 for the Ravens, Drake appeared in 11 games and had 93 carries for 442 yards and three rushing touchdowns. He also had a receiving touchdown.

The running back market is at what feels like an all-time low, with many high-profile players at the position speaking out on the pay and the respect they feel is due.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Drake and other former Alabama players in the NFL as the 2023 season gets under way.
