The Toronto Raptors (25-54) visit the Brooklyn Nets (31-48) on Wednesday. Tip from Barclays Center is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Raptors vs. Nets odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Nets lead 2-1

Toronto had a 2-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday with a 140-123 loss to the Indiana Pacers while failing to cover as a 14-point home underdog. G RJ Barrett‘s 23 points led 6 Toronto players scoring in double figures. The Raptors shot 50% from the field.

The Nets also had a 2-game winning streak snapped with a 107-77 loss against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday while failing to cover as 10.5-point home underdogs. G Cam Thomas scored a game-high 21 points as Brooklyn shot just 34.9% from the field.

Raptors at Nets picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 112, Raptors 100

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Nets (-500) to beat a Toronto (+375) team that is 2-8 in its last 10 and 11-27 on the road this season.

Against the spread

BET NETS -10.5 (-105).

Toronto is just 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games including 2-6 ATS in its last 8. It has failed to cover in 5 of its last 6 games as a double-digit underdog and faces a Nets squad that has held opponents to 107 or fewer points in back-to-back games.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 222.5 (-115).

The Raptors have scored 111 or fewer points in 6 of their last 10 games and have hit the Under in 2 of their last 3 on the road. The Nets are coming off a 77-point night and have failed to hit the Over in 4 of their last 5 games. They have held opponents to 111 or fewer points in 3 straight games and 6 of their last 9. The Under has hit in each of the previous 3 matchups between these teams this season.

Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Raptors (11-10) visit Barclays Center Friday to take on the Brooklyn Nets (12-11). Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Raptors vs. Nets odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Raptors were abused by the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, losing 126-108 as 2.5-point road favorites. Toronto was down 27 at the half after being outscored 34-18 in the 2nd quarter.

Toronto is 12-9 ATS this season and a poor 3-8 straight up on the road. The Raptors are 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games. The Nets, who will be without G Ben Simmons, are 9-12-2 ATS this season and are 7-4 straight up at home.

Brooklyn is riding a 3-game winning streak, having pushed as 6-point home favorites in a 113-107 victory over Washington Wednesday. They are 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10.

Raptors at Nets picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 112, Nets 109

Moneyline

BET RAPTORS (+105).

Toronto has players like F Scottie Barnes and F OG Anunoby who have the size to alter F Kevin Durant‘s shot. Taming Durant and G Kyrie Irving cripple the Nets’ attack as they have limited scoring depth.

What the Raptors do best, crashing the offensive glass, the Nets struggle with. Brooklyn ranks last in defensive rebounding rate, and the absence of Simmons will hurt that even further.

The Raptors are a well-coached team and rank 4th in turnover rate. The extra opportunities mixed with their low turnover rate should allow them to score with ease.

Also, the Nets beat Toronto 112-98 on Nov. 23. The Nets were 2.5-point road favorites, so this line is a tad bit interesting and should bode well for the Raptors to cover.

Against the spread

PASS.

This has all the makings of a close battle, so let’s just play the moneyline value instead of the marginally better odds on the spread.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 224.5 (-115).

The Raptors and Nets rank 24th and 25th in pace, so the tempo of this game should be slower than usual.

The last battle between these teams had an ending total of 222.5 and went 12.5 Under. The Nets have gone Under in 4 of their last 5 games while Toronto has also gone Under in 3 of its last 4.

Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Raptors (1-0) visit Barclays Center Friday to take on the Brooklyn Nets (0-1). Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Raptors vs. Nets odds, and our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Nets enter this home battle having lost 130-108 as 3-point favorites to the New Orleans Pelicans at Barclays Center Wednesday.

Despite 32 points from F Kevin Durant, the Nets got just a combined 19 from former All-Stars G Kyrie Irving and G Ben Simmons. The chemistry will grow, but this will be another difficult matchup against a playoff-caliber side.

The Raptors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-105 as 2.5-point favorites but were probably fortunate that Cavs G Darius Garland went down in the 1st half. Toronto had 6 players score in double figures.

C Pascal Siakam led the way with 23 points. The key strength for Toronto is on the defensive side of the court with F OG Anunoby and second-year F Scottie Barnes providing length and athleticism.

Raptors at Nets picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 115, Nets 113

Moneyline

SPRINKLE RAPTORS (+115).

The Raptors took down the Cavs, a team likely to contend in the Eastern Conference, while the Nets were destroyed at home and showed little team chemistry with Simmons back on the floor.

Durant went off, and Brooklyn still struggled which is concerning as it’s going up against a Toronto team that has size and skillful defenders.

The Raps won despite shooting 41.9% from the field. They were the 2nd-best offensive-rebounding team last season and had 12 in their opener. The Nets allowed 21 offensive boards.

That energy will be the difference and a key reason why I like the Raptors here.

Against the spread

BET RAPTORS +2.5 (-108).

The rebounding, the size, the defending — the Raptors have the pieces to tame the Durant-led Nets. Brooklyn also has issues with key role players. Curry is out for this game and while Harris is probable to make his season debut, he’s returning from ankle surgery and is likely to be limited.

The Raptors’ suffocating defense should thrive.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 226.5 (-110).

21 offensive rebounds are no accident, and the Nets are going to allow those extra opportunities to a team that was better on the offensive glass than New Orleans a season ago.

The Raptors scored 108 against a strong defensive side in Cleveland.

With those opportunities and likely better percentages from the field along with a hopeful uptick in production from Irving, expect the Over to be the better side of this battle.

Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Raptors (32-27) visit the Atlantic Division co-tenant Brooklyn Nets (32-29) Monday. Tip-off at Barclays Center is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Raptors vs. Nets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Toronto has been crushed in both games following the All-Star break, first 125-93 by the Hornets in Charlotte Friday then 127-100 by the Hawks in Atlanta Saturday. The Raptors are seventh in the East, 1 game ahead of the Nets and 2 games behind the sixth-place Boston Celtics.

Brooklyn upset the Bucks 126-123 Saturday in Milwaukee as a 9.5-point road underdog after getting blasted 129-106 by the Celtics at home Thursday.

The Nets are 2-0 straight up (SU) and 1-1 against the spread (ATS) versus the Raptors this season but Brooklyn All-Star F Kevin Durant played and balled in both meetings.

Raptors at Nets odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 111, Nets 104

Money line

PASS because I like Toronto to win this game handily but the Raptors (-175) are too pricy. That said, Toronto is 5-3 SU and ATS as a road favorite and Brooklyn is 2-4 SU and ATS as a home underdog.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the RAPTORS -3.5 (-120) because their style of play matches up very well against the Nets and this is just a better spot for Toronto.

The Raptors rank third or better in second-chance points per game (PPG), points off of turnovers and fastbreak PPG. The Nets rank 18th or worse defensively in all those metrics.

Brooklyn also has the worst home ATS record (6-22-1) and worst ATS margin at home (minus-6.9) whereas Toronto is 17-12-1 ATS on the road.

Furthermore, the Raptors are 10-5 ATS on the road versus teams with a winning record and the Nets are 3-11-1 at home versus winning teams.

It’s only a “LEAN” to the RAPTORS -3.5 (-120) because we are getting the worst of the number since the look-ahead line was Raptors -2 and they have the worst net rating over the past five games.

Over/Under

Slight “LEAN” to the UNDER 218.5 (-110) for a small wager because we’d be getting to the party a little late on the Under as well. The look-ahead total for Raptors-Nets was set at 225.5 before being lowered a full touchdown by the market.

However, there’s pretty much no continuity with this Brooklyn roster and newly acquired PG Goran Dragic is making his first start for the Nets in just his second game played. Plus Toronto has the worst offensive rating in the NBA over the past five games and is 1-4 O/U in those contests.

Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Tuesday’s Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Raptors (13-14) visit the Barclays Center to play the Brooklyn Nets (19-8) Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Raptors vs. Nets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions, and bets.

Toronto hammered the Sacramento Kings last night (Monday) for its second straight victory. The Raptors are 4-2 straight-up (SU), 4-2 ATS and 2-4 O/U with the eighth-best non-garbage time efficiency differential over the past two weeks, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Brooklyn has also won two consecutive games with the latest coming on the road, 116-104, vs. the Detroit Pistons Sunday. In the last 14 days, the Nets are 5-2 SU, 3-4 ATS and 2-5 O/U with the 15th-ranked non-garbage time efficiency differential per CTG.

The Nets handled business in a 116-103 victory over the Raptors Nov. 7 in their first meeting of the season, and the Over cashed on a 211-point total. Kevin Durant scored a game-high 31 points on 57.9% shooting with 7 rebounds and 7 assists.

Raptors at Nets odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 110, Raptors 105

Money line

PASS since Brooklyn is obviously the right side, but I wouldn’t lay it with the Nets (-220) or pay that steep of a price for any NBA regular-season favorite for that matter.

Also, I only “lean” to Toronto plus the points and don’t like the Raptors enough in this spot to “sprinkle” on their money line.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the RAPTORS +5.5 (-112) because I envision this game being a defensive battle (more on that below), and Toronto is the second-best spread differential on the road this year (plus-7.0 ATS margin).

Also, over the past two weeks, the Raptors have stepped up their defense: Toronto ranks third in points per 100 possessions allowed in competitive times during that span (CTG). And Brooklyn has struggled to take care of business vs. elite defenses.

For instance, the Nets are 3-6 SU with a minus-5.3 points efficiency differential and the worst spread differential in the NBA (minus-8.3) vs. teams in the top-10 of defensive efficiency, per CTG.

However, I can only “LEAN” to the RAPTORS +5.5 (-112) because of their lengthy injury report, and Anunoby was the only Toronto player that played good defense vs. KD in the first Raptors-Nets meeting this season.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 215.5 (-110) for 1 unit, because not only has Toronto played better defense recently, but Brooklyn’s defense is very underrated.

In fact, the Nets are seventh in non-garbage time defensive rating (CTG) and have the best defensive effective field goal shooting (eFG%) in the NBA.

On the other hand, the Raptors have the fifth-worst eFG%, are 25th in 3-point attempt rate and have the third-worst offensive FT/FGA rate.

Furthermore, both teams attempt a high volume of mid-range jumpers, but both teams are in the top-10 of defensive shooting percentage vs. mid-range field goals. Plus Brooklyn plays the highest volume of iso-ball, and Toronto has the second-best defensive efficiency vs. isolation offense.

Raptors at Nets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Raptors 128, Nets 126

Money line (ML)

The RAPTORS (+155) need to be taken with the excellent money line value coming off their 123-108 and 115-102 wins over the Orlando Magic. Of course, the Nets are vastly superior to the Magic, but the Raptors offense is finally getting some consistency and matches up well against Brooklyn’s all-offense, no-defense style.

Toronto is No. 1 in 3-point attempts, No. 2 in 3-pointers made and eighth in 3-point shooting percentage. The Nets, who are first in field-goal percentage and second in 3-point percentage, allow the 11th- and seventh-best percentages, respectively, to their opponents.

Brooklyn isn’t yet the juggernaut it was expected to become after acquiring G James Harden from the Houston Rockets. Since that pivotal Jan. 14 day, the Nets are 7-3; they’ve allowed 120-plus points in eight of the 10 games. Both teams want this to be a 3-point chuck-off, but that turns it into more of a coin-flip game for betting purposes.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The RAPTORS +4.5 (-110) are a much better play with the insurance of 4 points in the event of a loss. SG Fred VanVleet had a franchise-record 54 points on 11-for-14 3-point shooting in the last game against the Wizards. While that’s not going to be the new norm for Toronto, his teammates should rally around him for at least the next few games.

Confidence is rising for the 2018-19 NBA champions and the Nets are sleepwalking their way through the regular season on the defensive end. The Raps are a perfect team to take advantage of that.

Over/Under (O/U)

Brooklyn has hit the Over in nine of its last 10 games to improve to 17-6 against the number for the season.

Based on the above picks and that hard trend, back the OVER 241.5 (-110) and stop sweating it early in the fourth quarter.
