The Texas Rangers (37-46) and Baltimore Orioles (53-30) wrap up a 4-game series Sunday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Rangers vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 3-0

The Rangers have lost 6 consecutive games, including the 1st 3 outings in this series. Texas was blown out 11-2 on Thursday, but the past 2 games have each been losses by 1 run apiece. The Over is 2-1 in the first 3 games of this series.

The Orioles are aiming for the 4-game sweep. It hasn’t been long since the most recent 4-game sweep, as Baltimore took all 4 games against AL East Division rival Tampa Bay at Tropicana Field from June 7-10.

The Over (9.5) cashed on Saturday in the 6-5 victory, and the Over and Under have alternated in the past 9 games since June 21.

Heaney (2-9, 4.17 ERA) makes his 16th start and 17th appearance. He has a 1.31 WHIP, 2.6 BB/9 and 8.7 K/9 in 77 2/3 IP.

Rangers at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 6, Rangers 4

Moneyline

The ORIOLES (-160) are a little on the pricey side, but they’re a good play against the southpaw Heaney, who has been extremely shaky this season, especially on the road.

The Rangers (+135) can’t be trusted, having dropped the first 3 in this series, and 6 in a row.

If you like to play in safe, back Baltimore straight up behind Swervin’ Cole Irvin.

Run line/Against the spread

The ORIOLES -1.5 (+125) are worth playing on the run line if you’re a little less conservative.

Baltimore has won the past 2 days by a single run each, so be careful. However, in the past 26 wins since May 17, the O’s have won by 2 or more runs in 23 of those outings. So, if you like Baltimore to win, you should like it to get the job done laying the run and a half.

Over/Under

OVER 9.5 (+100) is worth a look at even-money, but go lightly.

The Over-Under has alternated in the past 9 games for the O’s. The total has gone high at a 4-1-1 clip in the past 6 starts by Irvin, too.

For the Rangers, the Over is 3-1 in the past 4 games. However, be careful, as the Under is actually 6-0 in Heaney’s past 6 starts. It’s more due to a lack of run support rather than anything special the veteran southpaw is doing.

Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Texas Rangers (37-45) and Baltimore Orioles (52-30) play the 3rd contest of a 4-game series Saturday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Rangers vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 2-0

The Rangers were nipped 2-1 Friday, dropping a 5th straight outing. Texas continues to struggle on offense, going for just 12 total runs in the losing skid, good for just 2.4 runs per game (RPG). The pitching staff has allowed 6 or more runs in 3 of those games, though, so the Over is still 3-2 in the 5-game skid.

The Orioles have won 3 straight games, turning things around after a 5-game skid of their own from June 21-25. It’s been all about pitching as Baltimore has allowed just 5 runs in the 3-games, or 1.7 RPG. The Under and Over has alternated in each of the past 8 games, with the Under (8.5) cashing Friday.

Rangers at Orioles projected starters

RHP Michael Lorenzen vs. LHP Cade Povich

Lorenzen (4-3, 3.04 ERA) makes his 14th start. He has a 1.16 WHIP, 3.6 BB/9 and 6.4 K/9 in 77 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 5 K in 6-3 loss at Milwaukee Brewers Monday
  • 2023 road splits: 8-4, 4.31 ERA (85 2/3 IP, 41 ER), 1.17 WHIP, .238 opponents’ batting average (OBA), 21 HR, 22 BB, 95 K in 15 starts
  • Career vs. Orioles: 0-0, 0.00 ERA (6 IP, 0 ER), 1.00 WHIP, 0 HR, 7.5 K/9 in 1 start and 1 relief appearance

Povich (0-2, 4.15 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has a 1.29 WHIP, 4.2 BB/9 and 5.8 K/9 in 21 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 5 2/3 IP, 3 ER, 7 H (1 HR), 1 BB, 5 K in 3-2 home setback vs. Cleveland Guardians Monday
  • 2024 home splits: 0-1, 2.31 ERA (11 2/3 IP, 3 ER), 1.11 WHIP, .261 OBA, 1 HR, 1 BB, 11 K in 2 starts
  • Career vs. Guardians: 0-1, 4.76 ERA (5 2/3 IP, 3 ER), 1.41 WHIP, 1 HR, 7.5 K/9 in 1 start

Rangers at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 4, Orioles 3

Moneyline

The RANGERS (+125) are worth a roll of the dice as short ‘dogs in this 3rd installment of the 4-game set.

Texas has struggled against left-handed starting pitchers, going 11-14 this season, so be careful. However, you can trust Lorenzen on the road against the rookie southpaw Povich. The results are in, and Povich will NOT be the winning pitcher.

Run line/Against the spread

The RANGERS +1.5 (-155) are not priced out of line if you can’t trust Texas straight up, and you’d prefer a little bit of insurance instead.

Texas has been outscored 28-12 in the 5-game losing skid, but 2 of the past 3 losses have been 1-run games.

Over/Under

UNDER 9 (-110) might be a surprising play in a matchup of Lorenzen and Povich, but both pitchers are actually not that bad.

The Under has a 5-3-1 edge in the past 9 games for the Rangers, while the O’s have been on a total roller coaster ride, alternating the Under and Over in the past 8 games since June 21.

Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Texas Rangers (37-44) and Baltimore Orioles (51-30) play the 2nd contest of a 4-game series Friday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Rangers vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 1-0

The Rangers dropped their 4th consecutive game Thursday in the series opener, losing 11-2. Texas has struggled offensively, totaling just 11 runs in the 4-game skid, or just 2.8 runs per game (RPG). The Over has cashed in 3 of the 4 games, however, with the pitching staff allowing 6 or more runs in 3 of those 4 outings.

The Orioles have re-discovered their offense after a 3-game span with 4 total runs last Saturday to Monday. They have plated 23 runs in the past 3 outings, averaging 7.7 RPG, cashing the Over in 2 of those 3 games. The Over is 8-4-1 in the previous 13 games for the O’s.

Rangers at Orioles projected starters

RHP Max Scherzer vs. RHP Albert Suarez

Scherzer (1-0, 0.00 ERA) makes his 2nd start. He has a 0.20 WHIP, 0.0 BB/9 and 7.2 K/9 in 5 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 5 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 BB, 4 K in 6-0 home victory vs. Kansas City Royals Sunday
  • 2023 road splits: 8-4, 4.31 ERA (85 2/3 IP, 41 ER), 1.17 WHIP, .238 opponents’ batting average (OBA), 21 HR, 22 BB, 95 K in 15 starts
  • Career vs. Orioles (regular season): 7-2, 3.17 ERA (96 2/3 IP, 34 ER), 1.02 WHIP, 17 HR, 11.5 K/9 in 14 starts

Suarez (3-2, 2.70 ERA) makes his 10th start and 17th appearance. He has a 1.33 WHIP, 3.7 BB/9 and 7.3 K/9 in 53 1/3 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 5 IP, 5 ER, 10 H (1 HR), 3 BB, 3 K in 8-1 loss at Houston Astros Sunday
  • 2024 home splits: 1-0, 1.88 ERA (24 IP, 5 ER), 1.13 WHIP, .228 OBA, 1 HR, 6 BB, 22 K in 4 starts and 3 relief appearances
  • Never faced Rangers before

  • Over/Under (O/U): 8.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Rangers at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 3, Orioles 2

Moneyline

The RANGERS (+110) are a solid value as short ‘dogs on the road behind Scherzer as he was untouchable in his debut last time out after recovering from a herniated disc in his lower back.

It isn’t going to be easy as Suarez has had strong numbers at home, and in general. The O’s are 1-3 in his past 4 starts, but he has allowed 3 or fewer runs in 5 of his last 6 outings. It’s a lack of run support, and that isn’t likely to improve against a pitcher the caliber of Scherzer.

Run line/Against the spread

The Rangers +1.5 (-185) will cost nearly 2 times the potential return, which is way too much risk if you’d like a little bit of insurance.

AVOID and just take the Rangers straight up if you like them to win outright.

Over/Under

UNDER 8.5 (-115) is the best play on the board.

Scherzer was nearly untouchable in his season debut Sunday, while Suarez has been producing solid numbers. The Under is 4-1-1 in Suarez’s last 6 starts. Plus, the Under is 5-4-2 in the past 11 outings for the O’s at home.

For the Rangers, the Under is 4-3-1 in the past 8 outings, while going 7-5 in the past 12 games on the road.

Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Texas Rangers (37-43) and Baltimore Orioles (50-30) open a 4-game series Thursday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Rangers vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Teams split 3-3 in 2023 regular season; Rangers won 3-0 in 2023 ALDS

The Rangers were recently swept in a 3-game road series at the Milwaukee Brewers. Texas had won 4 straight, including back-to-back shutout wins before the skid. The Under is 4-2-1 across the past 7 contests for the Rangers, and is 5-3 in the past 8 tries on the road.

The Orioles halted a 5-game skid with a 4-2 win vs. the Cleveland Guardians Wednesday, salvaging at least one victory after dropping the first 2 in the series. The Under and Over has alternated in each of the past 6 games, with the total going Under (8.5) Wednesday.

Despite Wednesday’s win, the Orioles are just 3-4 in the past 7 games at home, while the Over has a slight 3-2-2 mark in that 7-game span.

Rangers at Orioles projected starters

RHP Jon Gray vs. RHP Corbin Burnes

Gray (3-3, 3.03 ERA) makes his 14th start and 16th appearance. He has a 1.23 WHIP, 2.4 BB/9 and 8.6 K/9 in 71 1/3 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K in 6-0 home victory vs. Kansas City Royals Saturday
  • 2024 road splits: 0-1, 2.20 ERA (28 2/3 IP, 7 ER), 1.19 WHIP, .241 opponents’ batting average (OBA), 4 HR, 11 BB, 36 K in 8 starts and 1 relief appearance
  • Career vs. Orioles: 2-2, 2.91 ERA (21 2/3 IP, 7 ER), 1.06 WHIP, 5 HR, 8.7 K/9 in 4 starts

Burnes (8-3, 2.35 ERA) makes his 17th start. He has a 1.01 WHIP, 2.2 BB/9 and 8.5 K/9 in 99 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 7 IP, 4 ER, 5 H (2 HR), 0 BB, 5 K in 5-1 loss at Houston Astros Saturday
  • 2024 home splits: 4-1, 1.84 ERA (52 2/3 IP, 11 ER), 1.10 WHIP, .225 OBA, 4 HR, 14 BB, 56 K in 9 starts
  • Never faced Rangers before

  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Rangers +1.5 (-110) | Orioles -1.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 8 (O: -105 | U: -115)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Rangers at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 3, Rangers 2

Moneyline

The Orioles (-225) will cost 2.25 times your potential return, and that’s quite risky in what should be a close pitcher’s duel in this series opener against the defending champion Rangers (+180).

PASS.

Run line/Against the spread

The RANGERS +1.5 (-110) are a solid value on the run line as underdogs.

Texas is coming off getting swept in 3 games in Milwaukee, so there is some risk here. However, the pitching will keep the Rangers in the game, as they’ve allowed just 20 runs in the past 7 outings, or 2.9 runs per game (RPG).

The Orioles won against Cleveland Wednesday, but they’re still just 1-5 in the past 6 games, and just 1-3 on the run line in the past 4 as favorites.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

UNDER 8 (-115) is the best play on the board in Thursday’s battle in Charm City.

The Under is 3-2 in the past 5 games for the O’s, and the offense is averaging just 3.2 RPG in the span. The Under is also 4-1-1 in the past 6 home starts for Burnes.

For the Rangers, the Under has hit at a 4-2-1 clip in the past 7 outings, while going 5-3 in the past 8 road contests. The Under is also 6-1 in Gray’s previous 7 starting assignments.

ALDS Game 2: Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles ALDS Game 2 odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles play Game 2 of an AL Division Series Sunday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is scheduled for 4:07 p.m. ET (FS1). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Rangers vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

ALDS Series: Rangers lead 1-0

The Rangers picked up where they left off in St. Petersburg against the Tampa Bay Rays, winning Game 1 of the ALDS on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore by a 3-2 count.

Texas pitching has been phenomenal in 3 postseason games, allowing a total of just 3 runs, leading to 3 straight wins with 2 Under results. The Rangers plated 2 runs in the top of the 4th in Game 1, with OF Evan Carter posting an RBI double, and C Jonah Heim following with an RBI single. 3B Josh Jung added insurance with a solo HR in the top of the 6th.

The Orioles fans packed the house with 46,450 fans, which might have seemed like night and day to the Rangers after the dismal crowds for the Rays in the wild-card series. A rain delay didn’t ruin the enthusiasm of the sellout crowd for the first home playoff game for the O’s since 2014.

Baltimore has now dropped 3 of the past 4 games overall dating back to the regular season despite that its pitching has yielded just 17 runs during a 9-game span (1.9 runs per game (RPG)) which has led the Under to an impressive 9-0 run.

Rangers at Orioles projected starters

LHP Jordan Montgomery vs. RHP Grayson Rodriguez

Montgomery made 32 starts in the regular season with the St. Louis Cardinals and Rangers, going 10-11 with a 3.20 ERA. He had a 1.19 WHIP, 2.3 BB/9 and 7.9 K/9 over 188 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 0 ER, 6 H, 0 BB, 5 K in 4-0 road win vs. the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of their AL Wild Card Series Tuesday
  • 2023 road splits: 3-6, 2.73 ERA (99 2/3 IP, 40 ER), 10 HR, .264 OBA in 17 starts
  • Making his 3rd career postseason start and 4th overall postseason appearance

Rodriguez was 7-4 with a 4.35 ERA across 23 regular-season starts. He had a 1.34 WHIP, 3.1 BB/9 and 9.5 K/9 in 122 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 5 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 0 BB, 5 K in 5-1 win vs. Washington Nationals Sept. 27
  • 2023 home splits: 4-2, 4.59 ERA (64 2/3 IP, 33 ER), 8 HR, .273 OBA in 12 starts
  • Making his 1st career postseason start and appearance

Rangers at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 4, Orioles 2

Moneyline

The RANGERS (+102) are on a serious roll, going 3-for-3 on the road in this postseason. Texas is getting timely hitting and tremendous pitching and it seems to have regained its swagger after coming apart like a cheap suit in September to fumble away the AL West Division title.

Texas is 3-1 this season at Camden Yards this season, and the Orioles are relying on a rookie pitcher to turn things around in Game 2. Meanwhile, the Rangers can turn to the southpaw Montgomery, who not only has more postseason experience overall, but he just quieted the bats of the Rays for 7 scoreless frames in Game 1 of their AL Wild Card Series. Advantage Texas.

Run line/Against the spread

The RANGERS -1.5 (+164) are worth a roll of the dice at this price point.

Texas has covered the run line as an underdog in all 3 games, winning each contest outright. It has also outscored the opposition 14-3 in the playoffs so far, winning by 4 or more runs on 2 occasions.

Over/Under

The UNDER 8 (-115) is the play in Game 2. The O’s cobbled together just 2 total runs in Game 1, while the pitching staff did its job for the most part. Baltimore is on a 9-0 Under run dating back to the regular season, allowing just 1.9 RPG during the impressive span. Until Baltimore starts hitting Over results on a regular basis, keep going low on O’s totals.

Rangers at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 4, Orioles 3

Moneyline

The RANGERS (+125) roll into Charm City with quite a bit of momentum, having the confidence of a series sweep in the wild-card round over the 99-win Rays.

The Orioles have been off for nearly a whole week, and you have to think that the hiatus will be a problem for the home side. It’s difficult to switch the intensity on and off. Texas just played Wednesday, and it should be able to carry over its momentum right into battle against another AL East titan.

Run line/Against the spread

The RANGERS +1.5 (-165) aren’t priced out of line if you can’t bring yourself to play them straight up and would prefer a little bit of insurance instead.

Texas has cashed on the run line in 9 of the past 10 games as an underdog, winning 6 of those games outright. And with the road team going 2-1 in each of the 2 regular-season series, Texas is a strong play.

Over/Under

The UNDER 8 (-105) is worth a look, although the postseason inexperience of both pitchers is a concern. Still, the Rangers allowed just a single run in 2 games against the Rays, and the Under is 5-1-1 in the past 7 games overall extending back to Sept. 27 in the regular season.

For the O’s, they saw the total go low in the final 8 regular-season games, allowing just 14 total runs during the span, with 6 runs allowed in the final. That’ll give you a little idea of how Baltimore’s pitchers dominated down the stretch.

Rangers at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 5, Rangers 4

Moneyline

The Orioles have won game 2 of a series 5 straight times and have won 4 straight games after giving up more than 5 runs, according to Covers.com. Despite the one-sided affair Friday BET ORIOLES (-115).

Run line/Against the spread

I’m staying away from this line for a couple of reasons, one of which is that Baltimore +1.5 (-190) is too much juice when you can grab them at the moneyline at a much better value.

The Orioles may also have the best record against the spread (33-18), but that’s impacted largely by strong road performances. Baltimore is just 12-12 ATS at home. AVOID.

Over/Under

Trends point towards another high-scoring game according to Covers. The Orioles have hit the Over in 5 of their past 6 and the Rangers have had recent success against right-handed pitchers, going Over in 5 of their last 7.

LEAN OVER 9 (-105).
