How to Watch Liga MX Clausura, Monarcas Morelia vs. Toluca & Tijuana vs. Santos Laguna Live Stream, Schedule, TV Channel, Start Time

Watch Liga MX Clausura Live Online.

The 2020 Liga MX Clausura campaign opens on Friday, barely one week after Monterrey defeated Club America on penalties to lift its first major Mexican title in almost a decade.

The Apertura champions won’t begin their quest to win a second straight trophy until January 18, but a busy schedule in Week 1 ensures Mexican fans won’t be left hoping for top-tier action.

Monarcas Morelia opens the Clausura campaign at home to Toluca on Friday, which is also when Santos Laguna, who finished first in the Apertura regular season, travel to Tijuana.

Liga MX Clausura

  • When: Jan. 10 – Jan. 12
  • Time: 1:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m. ET
  • TV: Univision
  • Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free)

Defending Clausura champions Tigres UANL hosts minnows Atletico San Luis on Saturday and is targeting a fifth Mexican league title in as many years. Tigres won three successive Apertura crowns beginning in 2015 and Brazilian coach Ricardo Ferretti is out to prove once again his prowess in Liga MX.

Leon will also play host to Queretaro on Saturday and hope to make a bright start on home turf. The team finished second in the Apertura regular season and reached the last eight before it lost 5-4 to Morelia on aggregate.

No team has successfully defended the Clausura since Pachuca won back-to-back titles in 2006-07, though it could struggle to contend after finishing ninth in the Apertura. Pachuca travels to Pumas UNAM on Sunday, with both outfits chasing at least a playoff place in the Clausura having missed out on the last postseason melee.

13 of the 18 teams currently in Liga MX have won either an Apertura or Clausura title since the split season format was introduced in 1996-97. The only teams currently in Mexico’s top tier who haven’t won either are Atlas, Atletico San Luis, Puebla, Juarez, and Queretaro.

Veracruz is the only club that will fail to return for the Clausura campaign after participating in the Apertura season, having been disaffiliated from Liga MX in December following financial woes, according to ESPN.
