Seahawks Jamal Adams, Jordyn Books have shot to make it back by camp

Seahawks safety Jamal Adams and linebacker Jordyn Books both have a shot to make it back from their injuries by training camp this summer.

The Seattle Seahawks saw injuries to a number of players last season including starting safety Jamal Adams and linebacker Jordyn Brooks. Coach Pete Carroll is now optimistic both could return in time for the start of training camp later this summer.

“They’re doing well,” Carroll told reporters during his press conference on Wednesday. “The progress is being made. I think it’s this week that we’re meeting with them to make sure that they’re making their progress, but everything’s going fine so far. They’re very optimistic on their sides, they’re really thinking that they’re going to make it, so we’ll hold a good thought. Making camp. that’s what they’re shooting for.

“They’re not resigned to the fact that it’s going to take them past that, so they’ve got the right mindset. We’ll see what happens.”

Adams tore his quadriceps tendon in the season opener last year, while Brooks tore his ACL in Week 17. Despite the severity of the injuries, Carroll is hopeful both can still be ready in time.

“It could happen,” Carroll said. “There’s some optimism that it could happen. We’ll be conservative through that timeframe to make sure that we don’t screw it up by hurrying them along, but I’m wide open to it that they think they can do it, so we’ll see what happens.”

Seahawks safety Jamal Adams ‘pushing it’ to be ready by start of season

Seahawks safety Jamal Adams is working hard to return from his torn quadriceps tendon in order to be ready by the start of the 2023 season.

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams’ campaign was cut short last year when he tore his quadriceps tendon in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. Signs are now pointing to his return in time to start the season.

“It sounds really good,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters Tuesday from the league meetings in Arizona. “We sent our guys out to see him about 10 days ago, and he’s coming in in the next couple of weeks too, so we’re keeping track. It sounds like he’s doing great.

“He’s pushing it, and he’s going to try to bust whatever projections that would keep him from not being ready for the start of the season, he’s looking to get that done, and we’re counting on it, hoping it.”

Carroll did warn that nothing is guaranteed and the team will continue to exercise patience when it comes to Adams’ recovery.

“That’s not what the doctors are saying; they’re being more open, allowing more room for that to see what happens,” Carroll cautioned. “We’ll see what happens. We’re going to be really optimistic about it but support him, and we’re not going to rush it.”

Seahawks hopeful safety Jamal Adams can avoid setbacks in recovery

Pete Carroll is hopeful Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams is able to avoid setbacks as he recovers from his torn quadriceps tendon.

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams was sidelined for most of the 2022 NFL season after he tore his quadriceps tendon in the home opener.

Coach Pete Carroll was asked about Adams’ recovery during his press conference at the scouting combine on Tuesday.

“He’s making his progress, he’s doing his stuff,” Carroll told reporters. “We’ll see him in the next week or so in person, so we’re anxious to get connected with him. But when he came out and visited with our guys and checked in, everything was going the way it was supposed to go. This is a difficult recovery. We went through this with Jimmy (Graham), so we’ve been through it before.”

Adams has suffered multiple injuries over the last couple of seasons but this could be his most difficult rehab yet.

“It’s really intricate, they’ve got to do a really good job,” Carroll continued. “Again, it’s always that you’ve got to avoid the setbacks. So long as we can do that, he should be on schedule to get back.”

Seahawks safety Jamal Adams still has long recovery ahead

After tearing his quadriceps tendon in the opener, Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams will still likely need the whole offseason to recover.

The Seattle Seahawks were without safety Jamal Adams for the majority of the season after he tore his quadriceps tendon against the Denver Broncos in the first game of the year.

The hope is he’ll be back in the saddle in time to start the 2023 campaign.

“Jamal was with us here this weekend, and he’s finally started to move,” coach Pete Carroll said on Monday. “He’s up on his feet, he’s on the treadmill and those things getting started. It’s still a long recovery for him. We’ll go into the summer with him still getting back. We’ll just have to wait and see how it goes, but that’s not one where he’s going to bounce back and be ready next month or something like that. It’s going to take him a while.”

Adams has suffered multiple injuries over the last couple of seasons and hasn’t been able to realize his full potential in Seattle.

“The last two years it did affect us, because we had we had a real plan of how we wanted to utilize him,” Carroll said of the Seahawks’ defense. “He’s a terrific ballplayer, he would be a big factor, and the design of the scheme was all set up with that in mind. But I’m not blaming anything on that; we’ll take advantage of it when we have him again, and he’ll make the most of it.”

Seahawks safety Jamal Adams suffers ‘serious injury’ in win over Broncos

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams was carted off the field with a “serious injury” Monday night in the team’s win over the Denver Broncos.

The Seattle Seahawks scored a major win over the Denver Broncos on Monday night but it may have come at a cost. Safety Jamal Adams was carted off the field in the first half and was unable to return to the game.

During his postgame press conference, coach Pete Carroll said Adams had hurt his knee – likely his quadriceps tendon – and that it was serious.

“He hurt his knee tonight,” Carroll told reporters. “Not a typical knee injury. His quadricep tendon I think got damaged. He got hurt.

“So, it’s a serious injury.”

Carroll had no further details at the time.
