Home on Ocean Club’s 16th hole near Atlantis has sublime views and is on sale for a cool $17M

For a cool $17 million, you can purchase Villa Tarka, a custom 20,000-square-foot home on the 16th hole.

The Ocean Club Golf Course on Paradise Island in the Bahamas is a popular spot for golfers soaking up the sun on vacation.

But why only visit once a year, or even worse, once in a lifetime?

For a cool $17 million, you can purchase Villa Tarka, a custom 20,000-square-foot home that sits on the 16th hole of the Tom Weiskopf-designed course. Ocean Club is currently at No. 35 on the list of Golfweek’s Best courses in Mexico, the Caribbean, Atlantic islands and Central America. The LPGA’s Pure Silk-Bahamas Classic was held on the property from 2013 through 2018 with Brittany Lincicome winning the last two events.

As you might expect, the estate has all the bells and whistles, including an infinity-edged pool, an outdoor shower and a professional tennis court with an air-conditioned tennis pavilion.

Looking to host? No problem. Villa Tarka has a dozen bedrooms and 17 bathrooms, many with sweeping views of the ocean. Also, those with club memberships can use the golf course as well as facilities at the nearby Atlantis Resort and Casino.

Moriya Jutanugarn and Wei-Ling Hsu share the lead at Pure Silk LPGA Championship

Two women share the lead entering the final round of the Pure Silk Championship at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Two women share the lead entering the final round of the Pure Silk Championship at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Virginia. Moriya Jutanugarn and Wei-Ling Hsu jockeyed for that top spot over the course of an exciting Saturday on the LPGA, but in the end both stand at 10 under for 54 holes.

Jutanugarn made a clutch putt for par on 18 to finish off a 6-under 65. It was a day that also included five birdies and an eagle at the par-5 seventh. Hsu also had a 65 that included eight birdies.

If she wins tomorrow, Jutanugarn would claim her second victory after winning the 2018 HUGEL-JTBC LA Open. Younger sister Ariya Jutanugarn won the last LPGA event, the Honda LPGA Thailand.

“It’s great. It’s always great to come back, of course,” said Jutanugarn. “Seeing the ball go into the hole and feeling good. Swing is good, but, I mean, tomorrow is going to be new day and you don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m just trying to keep working on what I’m doing and just go out and have fun.”

Hsu, meanwhile, is chasing her first LPGA victory since qualifying in 2015.

“Definitely a little nervous and a little exciting. But also the COVID pandemic in Taiwan–we got so many new case right now, so people are really nervous and the whole country almost shut down. So I’m very happy of my performance on the first round, that I can to show and share with all my friends and family the good news,” said Hsu who will be in the final round on Sunday for the first time. “I don’t know what I going to end up today, but hopefully I going to have even better performance tomorrow and hopefully I can share this good news to my family and the people in Taiwan.”

The top of the leaderboard is strong, with Jessica Korda sitting just a shot back at 9 under. Korda had back-to-back rounds of 67 the past two days.

Lizette Salas is tied for four with second-round leader Sarah Kemp. Both women are 8 under.

Sarah Kemp leads Pure Silk LPGA Championship with rookie Ana Belac lurking

Ana Belac isn’t wasting any time as an LPGA rookie and has put together two powerful rounds at the Pure Silk LPGA Championship.

Two years ago at this time, Ana Belac was a senior on the Duke roster, helping her Blue Devils work their way through NCAA Championship week and ultimately to the national title. Belac was a big part of Duke’s seventh NCAA trophy – its first in match play – and hasn’t looked back since charting her career as a professional.

The 24-year-old from Slovenia finished first on the Symetra Tour money list last year, which earned her LPGA membership for the 2021 season as well as a start in the U.S. Women’s Open in December. Now, she’s lurking on an LPGA leaderboard.

After rounds of 70-67 at the Pure Silk Championship, Belac is tied for second with big names Jessica Korda and Stacy Lewis. They all trail Australian Sarah Kemp by a shot at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Virginia.

This is a particularly big week for Belac considering it’s the last week before the first reshuffle of the 2021 LPGA Tour season.

“It’s in the back of my mind,” Belac said. “My ultimate goal, my life goal, is to play on the LPGA and do well here. I try not to think about it [the reshuffle] when I’m on the course and just play my game.”

Belac had a steady round with five birdies and a bogey. Korda, on the other hand, does what Korda does, and that’s create fireworks. She eagled the par-5 seventh and the par-5 15th.

“I just try to put myself in the right positions, and luckily I was able to have a good amount of birdie opportunities and saved a good amount of par putts,” said Korda on how her round went. “Obviously the eagles help. If you take those eagles away, I would’ve shot even par today, so eagles always help.”

Korda won the season opening Tournament of Champions in January.

As for Kemp, a second-round 67 that included six birdies helped her get to 6 under and the solo lead.

“It was great. Had a really good warmup. I just felt really good,” said Kemp who said she slept great the night before. “And sometimes you just feel like you’re going to play well, and it was one of those days. Hit some great shots. Made some putts. I didn’t miss a whole lot of fairways. Probably had under 30 putts, and that leads to 4-under.”

Paula Creamer, making her first LPGA start since October 2019 this week, fired rounds of 76-74 to miss the cut by five shots.
