PS Plus games for June 2023 include Far Cry 6 and a PSP classic

Sony announced the PS Plus games for June 2023, including Far Cry 6 and a hit PSP game, and said that PS5 cloud streaming tests are underway

Sony announced the PS Plus games for June 2023 in a new blog post, including Far Cry 6 and a hit PSP game, and said that PS5 cloud streaming tests are underway for PS Plus Premium members. The feature would function similarly to Xbox Game Pass’ cloud gaming platform, where subscribers could stream their PS5 games and game trials – and eventually their retro games as well – on their chosen device. That probably will include PlayStation’s Project Q at some point.

On the game front, here’s what you can expect to be available on PS5 and PS4 for Premium and Extra members starting June 20, 2023:

  • Far Cry 6 (PS4/PS5)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge (PS4/PS5)
  • Rogue Legacy 2 (PS4/PS5)
  • Inscryption (PS4/PS5)
  • Soulstice (PS5)
  • Tacoma (PS4)
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (PS4)
  • Killing Floor 2 (PS4)

There’s also a game trial for WWE 2K23 on PS4.

Other games include Vampire The Masquerade – Coteries of New York and A Hat in Time, and the young and young at heart can look forward to My Friend Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol Mighty Pups: Save Adventure Bay.

Premium subscribers are getting the hit PSP game Killzone Liberation along with Worms and the rather obscure Herc’s Mission, both originally for PS1. It’s a somewhat skimpy lineup, but at least there’s something new from the PSP library at last.

Finally, Sony is celebrating one year of the new PS Plus model with over a week of activities offering incentives such as PlayStation Stars rewards and new avatars.

Ratchet, Dishonored, and a farm sim are the PS Plus games for May 2023

Sony announced the PS Plus games for May 2023, and the lineup is full of classics – though the retro pickings are still slim

Sony announced the PS Plus games for May 2023, and the lineup is full of classics, a few stealth games, and even some niche picks cropping up as well. Retro games for the Premium tier are still pretty slim, though.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart leads the charge. The space rabbit and robot’s PS5-exclusive adventure sees the duo travel through rifts in the universe, which is as much a showcase of the PS5’s processing power as it is a recipe for platforming brilliance. You can also download Arkane’s Dishonored 2 – the game that led to Deathloop – and the critically acclaimed Dishonored: Death of the Outsider.

The modern Tomb Raider trilogy, which includes Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, is up for grabs, alongside Wolfenstein: Youngblood and The Evil Within 2.

This month’s offerings include a bumper crop of farm games, too. The brilliant Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin puts you in charge of every aspect of rice growing, while dealing with demons in side-scrolling action segments, but if you’re wanting something more traditional, Rune Factory 4 Special and Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town are there as well.

Elsewhere, we’ve got Lake, Rain World, and Thymesia on the list, while Premium subscribers get yet another Syphon Filter and Ghostbusters Remastered, with a few others.

You can check out the full list on the PlayStation Blog.

The May PS Plus games for Extra and Premium subscribers will be available to download starting May 16, 2023. As always, once you download them, they remain in your library for as long as you remain a subscriber at that tier.

Final Fantasy and Uncharted headline PS Plus games for March

Sony announced the full list of PS Plus games for March, with Uncharted, Final Fantasy, Ape Escape, and Ghostwire leading the pack

Sony announced the full list of PS Plus games for March, with Uncharted, Final Fantasy, Ape Escape, and Ghostwire: Tokyo leading the pack. The PS Plus games for Premium and Extra subscribers will be available to download starting March 21, 2023, and as always, they stay in your account so long as your subscription to that tier remains active.

First up is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection, a two-game bundle featuring Uncharted 4 – the end of Nathan Drake’s saga – and The Lost Legacy, which follows series deuteragonist Chloe Frazier on a quest to recover important artifacts.

Tchia, a 3D exploration game from new studio Awaceb, joins the lineup on its launch day and sends you across a beautiful, stylized island chain based on the team’s home of New Caledonia. If you want something a bit less peaceful, though, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege and Tango Gameworks’ Ghostwire Tokyo are also on the list.

Square Enix has a hefty presence in March, with Life Is Strange 2 and Life Is Strange: True Colors in the mix, alongside NEO: The World Ends With You, and Final Fantasy Type-0, the military school spinoff where a chocobo bleeds to death in the first five minutes. Nothing says “war is cruel” like watching your fantasy bird friend die, but if you prefer your birds alive and honking, you may want to check out the indie hit Untitled Goose Game for some more laid-back, mischievous fun.

Premium subscribers get three new classic games in March: Ridge Racer Type 4, Syphon Filter, and Ape Escape 2. Maybe. The description Sony provided for Ape Escape 2 is actually for Ape Academy 2. That might actually be what you’re getting and not the original Ape Escape 2, though released for the PS1, as the listing says.

The PlayStation Blog has the full lineup.

Some of the best PlayStation games are coming to PS Plus in February

Sony announced the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for February 2023, and among them are some of the PlayStation’s best, both old and new

Sony announced the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for February 2023, and among them are some of the PlayStation’s best, both old and new. Leading the charge is Horizon: Forbidden West for PS4 and PS5, a somewhat surprising addition considering the open-world game only launched in February 2022.

Premium and Extra members also The Quarry and Resident Evil 7, alongside Tekken 7, Borderlands 3, and the modern cult classic The Forgotten City. If you prefer your free games to have a bit more JRPG in them, then you’re in luck. Scarlet Nexus from Bandai Namco is also up for grabs on PS4 and PS5, along with a trio of games from Tokyo RPG Factory: I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear, and Onikani.

Premium subscribers have a few new PS1 games to sink into. The Legend of Dragoon, Sony’s answer to Final Fantasy 7 back in the ‘90s, joins Wild Arms 2 and Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, the farm-sim game that eventually inspired Stardew Valley. Destroy All Humans is also a random inclusion for the Premium tier, so if you haven’t checked that out yet, here’s your chance.

All these games will be available beginning Feb. 21, 2023, and as always, games you download during this period will remain playable so long as your PS Plus subscription is active.

Subscribers to the basic tier can get a Destiny 2 expansion and Evil Dead The Game for free in February.

PS Plus’ February games include Evil Dead and a Destiny 2 expansion

Sony announced the PS Plus games for February available for all subscribers, including a multiplayer horror game and a Destiny expansion

Sony announced the PS Plus games for February available for all subscribers starting Feb. 7, 2023, including a multiplayer horror game and a free Destiny expansion. The PS Plus Extra and Premium games have yet to be announced.

First up is Evil Dead The Game, an asynchronous multiplayer game rooted in the Evil Dead franchise. You and a team of survivors face off against a swarm of Deadites and the Kandarian Demon, exploring and looting across locations pulled directly from the Evil Dead films.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is also up for grabs. Beyond Light takes you to Europa and adds the Stasis element to the FPS game, a vital component in most modern Destiny 2 builds and a significant boon heading into Destiny 2 Lightfall later in February.

Mafia: Definitive Edition brings the 2002 crime game to life for modern audiences, smoothing out some of its rougher elements and revamping the visuals. The last game is OlliOlli World, a skateboarding platformer where you grind, hop, and air your way to Gnarvana and appease the skate gods.

All of the February PS Plus games will remain in your library after the month ends, as long as you remain a PS Plus subscriber. While you’re downloading your PS4 and PS5 games, you may want to take a look at the PS Plus Collection before it’s too late. Sony announced the collection is being shuttered in just a few months.

PS Plus Premium’s January games include Dragon Ball and Devil May Cry

Sony announced the PS Plus Premium games lineup for January, and Dragon Ball, Life Is Strange, and Devil May Cry lead the pack

Update: 1/12/2023

Sony issued a correction to the PS Blog post and said Sayonara Wild Hearts was listed in error. The indie game will not actually be included in January’s selection of PS Plus Premium and Extra games.

Original Story: 1/11/2023

Sony announced the PS Plus Premium games lineup for January in a new PlayStation Blog post, and Dragon Ball, Life Is Strange, and Devil May Cry lead the pack. The PS Plus offerings for the first month of 2023 include over a dozen games, but the retro offerings are, as ever, rather slim.

If you don’t have the Extra or Premium tiers, you still get a selection of top-notch picks for January, including Jedi: Fallen Order.

First up is Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, the PS5 upgrade of Dante and Vergil’s latest journey, complete with all existing DLC, including the Bloody Palace battle expansion. Back 4 Blood, the survivor horror successor to Left 4 Dead is also on the list, though without its DLC.

You can also download Dragon Ball FighterZ and take the fights global with online multiplayer, or sit back for a more narratively rich experience with Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange: Before the Storm.

The modern indie classic Sayonara Wild Hearts is also up for grabs, along with Just Cause 4, Onmo, and Erica, a thriller about a young woman convinced she murdered her father.

On the retro side, Sony is offering Syphon Filter, Star Wars Demolition, and Hot Shots Golf 2, all originally for the PS1.

January’s PS Plus Extra and Premium games will be available to download starting Jan. 17, 2023. Anything you download during its free period remains in your library until your PS Plus subscription expires.

December’s PlayStation Plus Essential games have leaked

Subscribers can look forward to Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and plenty more.

The PlayStation Plus Essential games lineup for December 2022 appears to have leaked. Courtesy of the regularly accurate Dealabs user billbil-kun, a special shout-out to VGC for noticing this leak.

At least three games should be coming to the services in December 2022, each offering fairly different experiences. Here are the titles you can expect to download next month:

  • Mass Effect: Legendary Edition (PS4)
  • Biomutant (PS4/PS5)
  • Divine Knockout (PS4/PS5)

The obvious highlight here is Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, a collection that contains Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, and every piece of DLC for each game. There are around 80 hours of scifi goodness here, so it’s worth checking out.

As a reminder, the Essential tier of PlayStation Plus nets subscribers several games per month. The Extra and Premium tiers have loads of added benefits, like an enormous back catalog of PS1 games. There’s also cloud storage for game saves and the ability to stream PS3 titles.

We don’t know what’s coming for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers yet. Last month, some absolute bangers, like Nioh 2 and the Lego Harry Potter Collection, were up for grabs along with several others.

Kingdom Hearts and Skyrim are your PS Plus games for November

PS Plus games for Extra and Premium subscribers include RPG classics, Ratchet and Clank, and an award-winning indie

Extra and Premium subscribers are getting quite the RPG game haul in the PS Plus games for November starting on Nov. 15, 2022, with Skyrim and every Kingdom Hearts game headlining the lineup. Sony announced the month’s roster in a new PlayStation Blog post, but if keyblades and dragons aren’t quite your thing, there’s still plenty of variety to dig into.

PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers get both Kingdom Hearts Re:Mix games, which include Kingdom Hearts 1, Kingdom Hearts 2, the interlude Chain of Memories game, the PSP exclusive Birth by Sleep, and Re:Coded, along with 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts 3 itself. The rhythm game Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is also included in the mix.

That’s a lot of RPG, but there’s plenty of time to download and play later. These and all other games in your PS Plus library remain available as long as your subscription is active

For a change of pace, you can also get Oddworld: Soulstorm, Chorus, and Skyrim Special Edition. You can also download the Anniversary Edition for free once you have Skyrim Special Edition in your library, which includes an also-free current-gen upgrade for PS5 owners.

Finally is What Remains of Edith Finch, winner of 2017’s best narrative award at The Game Awards. Explore the ancient Finch house as Edith and try to uncover what happened to the rest of the family – and why Edith is the only one left.

Premium subscribers also get a bundle of PS3 games that includes the original Ratchet and Clank trilogy, along with Deadlocked and Future: Tools of Destruction.

Those with the basic subscription tier can download Nioh 2 and Lego Harry Potter Collection for free as well.

PS Plus Extra and Premium games for August 2022 include Yakuza 0 and Dead by Daylight

Higher-tier PlayStation Plus subscribers can get three Yakuza titles, Dead By Daylight, and many more this month.

In these dreary times, we could all use some handouts every so often. Thankfully PlayStation Plus is tossing higher-tier subscribers some excellent games this month.

On Wednesday, Sony announced that 11 more titles will be available for PS Plus Extra and Premium members on Aug. 16, 2022. Let’s look at what there is below.

PS Plus Extra and Premium games for August 2022

  • Yakuza 0
  • Yakuza Kiwami
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2
  • Dead By Daylight
  • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
  • Bugsnax
  • Metro Exodus
  • Trials of Mana
  • UNO
  • Monopoly Madness
  • Monopoly Plus

We knew all those Yakuza games would arrive eventually, but the rest were a pleasant surprise. Dead By Daylight, in particular, is about to receive some awesome Resident Evil DLC. So there’s arguably never been a better time to get hooked on the game.

The re-launch of PS Plus also introduces some extensive streaming backward compatibility titles, notably several excellent PS3 games. You’ll need a high-speed internet connection to take advantage of that, though.

Remember that people with a standard membership still get some freebies, which we’ve already broken down here.
